The animals are there. It’s just a shame they all seem to know how to hide in the shade or deep in the foliage—you end up walking past the same empty enclosures more than once.

They’ll probably just start closing the windows now—and that'll be the end of it.

They’re out at the suburban neighborhood fixing the baby pool tiling right now. Seriously.

That pool only lasts about three months tops—and they're doing this work now.🤣

Just finished the meeting regarding preschool enrollment. In short—no spots left in daycare. Apparently, there are too many parents with multiple kids who opted out of the recent subsidies, so they’ve shrunk the group sizes to meet certain standards.
The only real shot we have at getting in is if New York City decides to start overcrowding the classrooms like they used to.
That’s a long shot, though, since we both work full-time. They basically hinted that our chances are zero—which is a ridiculous argument, considering how are you supposed to actually find a job if you have nowhere to leave your kid?

Of course, this is all just off-the-record chatter—thanks to GDPR, everything is kept strictly under wraps.

What’s the move if I don't have a referral? I have supplemental insurance and want to see an ophthalmologist and an ENT—nothing urgent, though. Is there any way to book an appointment at a public hospital without a referral, and what kind of damage are we talking about regarding the cost?

Also, can I show up for an exam with a digital referral on my phone instead of a physical paper? If I print out a color copy, will they accept that, or is it going to be an issue?

Since we're looking at mid-May, it could be sweltering. Add a packed church to the mix, and you have a recipe for disaster—my little one tends to overheat easily and really struggles with the heat. How does everyone usually handle this? We aren't heading straight to a fancy restaurant afterward; we're going home, so she can easily change out of the formal gear once we get there. I honestly can't picture her wearing anything under that gown other than maybe a basic undershirt or a light tee.

If you aren't handing them back immediately after the ceremony, there isn't much to overthink—just an undershirt and underwear.

I'm 5'11"—which means my shirts always feel like they're missing an inch or two—but t-shirts are fine. I don't bother trying anything on in person; I just order everything online.
