First Communion gift ideas?

Does anyone have any actual ideas for what we should be giving kids for their First Communion these days? I’m looking for gift suggestions for a 10-year-old princess celebrating her First Communion. Honestly, I'm feeling pretty stuck. She already has way too many toys, she'll probably get plenty of clothes from the rest of the family, and she's already set when it comes to big stuff—bikes, rollerblades, a swing set, a tent, a computer, a tablet, a TV... you name it, she's got it. I'm completely out of ideas here. 😢

Something to remember by? Gold? A watch?
A savings account? 😬

Honestly, it's still a bit too early for me to be thinking about gold. If we were talking about a company, sure, that would be a solid investment, but right now? Not quite my speed.

I’ve gone ahead and bought Swatch's watches for all my nephews' First Communion celebrations so far—just the kid-sized ones. We’re a massive family, so I don't see much point in overspending on gifts. 😉

The saddest part about all this is that 90% of kids these days just want a smartphone for occasions like this, and that’s usually what godparents end up buying them. I might not have a super constructive solution here, but you definitely have one more vote against the phone idea...😁

it really isn't a huge deal—you can just pick up something newer and more modern😁
But, if I can offer some helpful advice, a high-quality book makes for a wonderful giftthough I always struggle deciding between what fits our family standards and what would actually make the little one jump for joy
Or maybe a cute print for the nursery (I find those Elle Vance angels absolutely darling) or even a small piece of furniture. Like a cool lamp or a little shelf...

She maintains that all this material stuff is nonsense and claims her family exclusively gifts Bibles and similar items—suggesting that if I had actually shown up with something like that, they probably would have slammed the door in my face.

I am requesting some assistance here. I am serving as a godmother for a young girl who is preparing for her First Communion in just one week (she's currently in third grade). Since I don't have children of my own yet, I am completely at a loss regarding what a godmother should actually purchase for a First Communion gift. I would appreciate any advice so that I don't end up looking foolish. Thank you all in advance for your suggestions.

There are other editions of biblical texts adapted for younger readers, but from what I understand of the market, this is the superior choice. 👍 If a gift of that nature doesn't suit your needs, you might consider a more "secular" book instead... did I mention my obsession with books?
Ultimately, you know the child better than I do, so my suggestions may be entirely misplaced.

I’m an aunt to a ten-year-old girl, and honestly, ever since she started school, I haven't had much trouble picking out gifts. The kid is a total bookworm—she's at her happiest when she gets a new book. So, for her First Communion, I'll probably just get her a book again; I just need to figure out which specific title she's eyeing right now.
