What am I even supposed to say at this point? Samsung claimed they were struggling just to catch the ball, whereas my take was that I was both throwing and catching without any real trouble—nothing more, nothing less. Then ZZ chimed in with, "You're talking nonsense, that's hard." So, here is my rebuttal to ZZ's assertion—that it’s impossible for us to have been passing the ball back and forth, or that I'm lying, or that I imagined the whole thing because you supposedly need to be an elite athlete to complete a pass with this ball at X meters... the reality is that when we were "passing," we were actually just tossing it wildly everywhere and nobody was actually catching it; it was just dropping. I mean, something has to be true, because it's physically impossible for someone who isn't a pro athlete to throw an American football 20 yards accurately into someone's hands, and I distinctly remember us messing around with that ball. I didn't imagine it, and I have no reason to lie (well, maybe I do, but let's assume for the sake of this story that I don't)... which would obviously mean I'm some kind of undiscovered football prodigy, along with everyone else who was tossing that ball around back then.
To draw a parallel to the tennis comparison you made, if someone came up to you tomorrow and claimed you couldn't hit a ball over the net, you'd tell them to get lost... which doesn't mean you'd hit it better, faster, or harder than Roger Federer, it just means anyone with even a shred of athletic ability can do the same thing.
If you aren't interested, why bother commenting at all? You might want to actually catch up on the thread first—read the exchange between me and Samsung, which was perfectly civil until Zillow decided to jump in, and now you... It’s quite bold to barge into the middle of a debate, claiming you have no idea what we’re even talking about, only to critique things that weren't even said. Rather than just posting nonsense, try reading the context so you don't end up making ridiculous claims that I've clearly never made, such as saying football is the easiest sport on earth or that I could play it professionally without breaking a sweat...
And yes, I did state that I am the greatest football prodigy to ever live because my ball handling skills are simply unmatched, truly 👋 😂
He catches that egg, and within seconds, he’s gotta find an open man while simultaneously sensing the pressure—because you've got hundreds of people trying to crush him. And yeah, if he actually pulls that off, he still has to hit his target dead-on.
Maybe this is the ultimate combo of athleticism, technique, and IQ—and you're turning it into some amateur hour hobby just because you guys were passing eggs around at 17. Give me a break. 🙏
Go jump in a lake, you absolute troll... just go back and find my first post regarding passing, which was a response to steelharbor9 specifically about ball distribution... which, as I noted myself, doesn't negate the fact that everything turns into a heavy mass sprinting toward you while defenders try to take you down... 🙏 🤣
No, he's just charging in blindly because he saw me mention football and because I wasn't busy showering the sport with endless praise... 🤣
Forget football, apparently it's suddenly become the most difficult sport in history requiring some sort of superhuman genius to participate... I'd wager Messi's strike from a free kick last week, or a perfectly weighted pass to Ronaldo from fifty yards out, or even Zidane's volley holds more value than every single pass ever made in American football combined... 🤣
Maybe just turn off your notifications when we discuss football, or better yet, let's just stop altogether, since everyone seems so incredibly agitated...
Edit: any sport can be played by mediocre athletes, but being a true genius in soccer requires significantly more than being a genius in football, handball, water polo, basketball, or any other sport where a "ball" is controlled by hand...
Well, I seem to have convinced myself that we could pass that damn soccer ball around without breaking a sweat back when we were seventeen or eighteen... though I suppose you two know better than anyone...
brightpilot6 said:If you’re going to insist on being added to the mix like some kind of wildcard variable in a parabola, fine, let's play. Why don't you try hurlng an American football straight at someone from twenty or thirty yards away and we'll see how that theory holds up?
Or perhaps you just missed out on making millions in the NFL.☕
We used to call each other out without missing a beat, though whether that was because we were all just mediocre high school athletes or because we’re secretly the greatest football prodigies to ever grace the gridiron... who can say...
I’ve thrown it at that distance and tracked it just as easily; I didn't notice any significant struggle during the toss or the catch... As I mentioned to steelharbor9, maneuvering it was quite effortless...
brightpilot6 said:How on earth can you possibly find it easier to catch or throw something if it isn't perfectly spherical? 🤣
I suppose if you were all just tossing things at each other from three feet away like you're playing catch with potatoes, it wouldn't really matter, but still 🤣
It’s actually easier to throw than an American football, using that as our standard for most common balls... 🤷 Sure, a tennis ball would certainly be easier to launch, but catching it is a nightmare because it's so small, whereas this had the perfect size. You can throw a football with your hands, but you aren't going to achieve the kind of precision we were hitting here. The distance varied quite a bit, anywhere from ten to fifty feet depending on who was passing to whom.

I mean, you might think they just sit around staring at boards all day, but they really hit the weights. Maybe it helps with the focus? Or maybe they just want to look good in those tournament polos? I guess physical fitness is just as important for the brain as it is for the body. It’s pretty wild to think about, honestly!
I mean, sitting around for four or five hours straight with your brain running at full speed? It’s just not exactly relaxing, I guess. Maybe it feels productive, but man, it's definitely not comfortable!
🤷
Those WRs are seriously technically gifted... I mean, putting Beckham’s catch aside for a second, what they do on a regular basis isn't actually that easy. I guess I've tried just tossing an egg around myself once or twice, and when someone spins it toward you from ten yards away, it's tough enough to grab—let alone what these guys pull off!
I mean, I guess you could say running backs bring more to the table than just raw power when they're breaking through lines. It’s not all just brute force, right? They’ve got those body feints, that quick burst of speed, and then that sudden stop... it's wild! It feels like they have so many of those same flashy moves we all obsess over when watching elite NFL wide receivers or dribblers, except they aren't juggling a ball at their feet. But man, they definitely have a massive toolkit of skills!
I'm not saying every single position on the field is like that—definitely not! But I guess there just seem to be a few more spots out there where you need way more than just raw physical talent. Maybe it's just my take, but yeah, it feels that way!
Oh man, coaches are seriously something else, aren't they? They really are just... incredible. I guess! Maybe it's just me, but they truly are wonders.
See, I can't quite agree with you there; a friend used to bring that ball to our high school all the time, long before you even started asking 😁 we used to mess around with it during lunch breaks or after school, and it was surprisingly easy to throw and catch, much easier than any standard football (which makes sense given the shape and design), and even while moving, it wasn't an issue...
We weren't exactly sprinting fifty yards or dodging tackling drills from guys trying to flatten us, but the ball itself is unexpectedly easy to handle—not that we were pros, but we could hit our marks quite nicely, even the first time we ever picked one up...😁
Went to a bar last night, cheap drinks and mediocre music, but the crowd... reminds me of those old college days walking through the humanities or law buildings, absolute chaos 🤣
Unbelievable... over 300 felonies on their record, yet they aren't even old enough to qualify for the juvenile detention center...
I truly believe these individuals could become productive members of society if we just gave them another chance, or perhaps several more chances... ha... 🎉
