It’s pretty discouraging—I went back into the BIOS to try and tweak those settings one more time, but now I’m stuck. The laptop powers on and I can hear the fan spinning and the drive loading, but there is absolutely no image on the screen... nothing at all.

I already tried pulling the CMOS battery, but I'm still at a loss. Any advice?
That’s how the settings were configured originally—I honestly have no clue what my next move should be...
If I pull this drive out and slap it into another laptop, then install Windows 7... will that machine just absolutely lose its mind?
It’s the same old story again ;//
I’ll give it a shot and let you know how it goes—thanks, 🙂
I haven't the slightest clue—not that I have any way to actually verify it...
There isn't anything properly connected here—it’s just that I'm at a complete loss as to what to do next...

No, perhaps I wasn't clear enough in my initial description...

It's more that I insert the DVD, tap a key to trigger the setup, and let it load—but just as the actual installation interface is supposed to launch, that blue screen appears and crashes the whole thing with that error...

I am using the original DVD to run the installation...
Hello everyone,
I am running into a bit of a headache with this particular laptop while trying to install Windows 7—it currently has 8.1 running on it—and the issue keeps cropping up right in the middle of the installation process.

Essentially, I kick off the installer, and just as the "setup starting" message appears, the whole system crashes and throws an error code at me...
bugcode_usb_driver ?!?

Does anyone have any insight or advice on how to resolve this?

I happened to stumble upon a link over on some corner of the internet—somewhere deep in a forum thread, I believe—for an eBay listing. It’s this peculiar little gadget... essentially a desk lamp and a mobile phone charger rolled into a single unit. I can't quite decide if it's genius or just clutter. Has anyone else come across this thing?
