Is it just me, or does it feel like every time we try to save a few bucks on food delivery, the "savings" are just a bait-and-switch for a subscription we didn't ask for? I remember when you’d just use a code, get your discount, and call it a day. Now, it feels like you have to jump through a dozen hoops or sign up for some monthly membership just to avoid paying a massive premium.
I caught myself the other night staring at my phone for ten minutes, scrolling through endless lists of "deals" that all required a specific user status or a new account. By the time I actually found something that worked, I was so hungry I just gave up and made a sandwich. It’s like the whole system is designed to make you feel like you're winning while they're actually just hooking you into a recurring billing cycle.
Does anyone else feel like these constant promotional cycles are actually making it harder to save money rather than easier?
Tyler Edwards53 said:At our club, we've got training sessions running three times a week—so if you're looking to get in shape, there's plenty of chances to show up...$50 For all you newbies out there—listen up... if you're just starting out, I got you. This is for the beginners... honestly, it can feel a bit overwhelming at first, right? But don't sweat it—we've all been there... just take it slow and soak it all in... $57 For the veteran lifters out there—if you want to level up, you can actually grab two extra Tai Chi sessions for a little bit of extra cash (just gotta clear it with the Sensei first)... that brings you up to five training sessions a week total!
Check out this site for Uechi-ryu training—it’s pretty legit if you're looking to dive into some serious martial arts stuff... definitely worth a look if you want to get into the groove of it! For more info—hit me up...
Man, where do I even start with karate? It’s honestly such a trip once you actually get into it—like, it’s way more than just throwing punches around in a sweaty gym. There’s this whole vibe to the style... it’s about discipline, focus, and that mental toughness that stays with you long after you leave the dojo. It’s super intense, though—I’m talking full-body exhaustion levels of intense. The workouts are brutal, no joke. You’re doing repetitive drills, high kicks, and conditioning that makes your muscles scream, especially when you’re working on those explosive movements... it really pushes you to your limit. As for the instructors? Well, that’s everything. If you get a good Sensei—someone who actually cares about your technique and doesn't just bark orders—it’s life-changing. A great instructor guides you through the grind and keeps you from getting injured, but a bad one? Man, they can totally kill the motivation. But yeah, if you find a solid school with decent coaches, the experience is absolutely worth the sweat and the sore muscles... definitely something to think about if you're looking for a challenge.
Thanks!
Hey, quick question—is $83 a month for karate classes actually a lot, or is that just about what everyone else is paying...?
Roger Smith6 said:Got a question—might be a bit off-topic, but hey, maybe not.
So, check it: anyone here seen Star Wars Episode IV? You know, the very first one (meaning there are four movies out now, the start of the original trilogy)? Do you remember Darth Maul—wait, actually, he wasn't in the first one, he was in Episode I—anyway, do you remember him and that crazy double-sided lightsaber of his? Uh, so... what kind of skill is that? Like, that specific staff fighting technique... what's the actual name for it?
thx
shoki
Man, you won't really unlock that level of skill until much later down the road... but seriously, go study it—you might even find you're a natural at it. Stay wise, Sensei Roger Smith6... 😉
Hey, just popping in to say hi—hope everyone’s having a killer week so far! Honestly, I was just sitting here thinking about how much has changed lately... life moves so fast, you know? Anyway, just wanted to send some good vibes out to the group—stay awesome! kaže:
Look, I’m definitely no karate expert or anything—definitely out of my depth here—but I'll give it my best shot....
Unfortunately, you didn't mention where you're based—but hey, if you're in a big city like Chicago or NYC, finding a spot shouldn't be much of a headache since there are tons of dojos out there. You’ll just need to reach out to them directly to see if they're strictly for kids or if they actually take in adult beginners too... turns out that can vary quite a bit.
Yeah, I'm from ZG...
What I'm really looking for—if anyone out there actually knows—is which clubs take on adult beginners? And if someone could point me toward a spot that’s maybe a little higher quality than the average gym...
Yeah, and like, how much does that actually pay out per month? Roughly speaking...
Thanks!
So, I'm really itching to get into some kind of martial arts—but honestly? I have zero clue where to start, what to pick, or even when I'd find the time to actually train...
Basically, I've been looking into Karate (not sure if there are different styles I should be specifying since I'm totally clueless here), and I did a bit of digging online for local dojos, but it feels like everyone just seems to cater to kids?
If anyone knows a spot where someone a bit older could jump in—I'm 21, by the way—and start from scratch as a total beginner, please, please point me in the right direction... 🙂
Thanks
So... did I totally screw this up or what?
It said right there at the end of that configuration for Windows XP Home.
I didn't get a CD or anything.
It never even crossed my mind...
Ahem, ahem.
So, how do I check if my Windows is actually legit? I mean, it should be—that's what they told me when I bought this rig—but I never got a physical Windows disc or anything, and you know how some people are... shady like that. Plus, Windows Update totally crapped out on me and now it’s just gone (again)...
thanks 🙄
Sorry, I just have to say this because you clearly don't realize how hilarious you're being 😉
Anyway—honestly, whatever kind of music you're into, it doesn't even matter... you're gonna have an absolute blast because this is easily the concert of the season... (well, maybe excluding 🙄 )
Btw—if you ever find yourself "forced" to go see Manu Chao, don't listen to them... 🙂
I mean, they're a total genius and one of the best live acts out there... I seriously can't wait until they roll into NYC...
