The Ivanec Martial Arts Club is actually still up and running: 098 1629892
Injury statistics in UFC tournaments in Martial Arts & Combat Sports ·
There really isn't any need for us to go back and forth on this if we simply categorize our discussion into two distinct areas:
—injuries sustained during general training for UFC
.

It should be common knowledge by now that injuries are an inevitable part of the game, and honestly, it’s nearly impossible to walk away from a UFC fight without picking up a few marks, but most of those are just standard stuff you see in any combat sport, like bruises or minor cuts.
When it comes to the training side of things—which is the part I find most fascinating regarding recreational enthusiasts—injuries are actually quite rare; they certainly do happen, but they aren't occurring at a higher rate than what you'd expect in almost any other athletic pursuit.

Thanks in advance for the help.

I believe someone else has already touched on this topic here. From what I understand, they have actually started up some classes specifically for beginners and recreational enthusiasts over at the local YMCA facility in downtown Chicago.

I’m not entirely sure myself—and honestly, I agree that Josh seems a bit small right now—but I’m really itching to start pointing him toward a specific direction. He’s got such an intense level of hyperactivity, you know? So, my thought is that we should probably start channeling that energy into something productive sooner rather than later.

There is actually a wonderful little judo preschool program over at the Lika Judo Club, which is incredibly convenient because they incorporate plenty of playtime for the little ones while gently guiding them toward the fundamental basics of martial arts. You can reach the instructor, Mirna Kosovic, at 091 5604596.

Classes are held over at 3 Victims of Fascism Square. Their number is 4614462.

Aside from that, gymnastics is another excellent option, such as the programs offered through the YMCA.

Since I’ve been training for well over a decade now, staying active isn't just a hobby—it's practically part of my DNA, so during the summer months, I tend to stick to a more "improvised" style of conditioning. I love hitting the trails on my mountain bike and riding up some steep hills, but I also incorporate functional strength by lugging the bike over rocky terrain, lifting it alternating between hands as if it were a heavy kettlebell, or just grabbing a large stone along the way to grind out a few sets. Of course, shadowboxing is a fantastic solo exercise, and I never skip the basics like push-ups, pull-ups, or squats...
....and if you're wondering what originally sparked this obsession, it all started because I wanted to make sure that if I ever walked out of a movie theater right after watching Bruce Lee, I’d be more than capable of handling any guys looking for trouble.😁

Mark Wilson39 said:if you already know someone is going to throw you, you don't need to be some elite Olympic wrestler or an MMA pro to prevent it from happening.
The real point here is about defending yourself against an attacker who, the moment they resort to physical aggression, has essentially forfeited their composure and focus... such a person becomes quite easy to throw, regardless of whether they have professional training or not.

???????????
Successfully throwing someone depends entirely on how much training you have under your belt.
There is simply no way for an untrained person to defend themselves against a takedown from an Olympic wrestler or a high-level judoka unless they possess that same level of specialized training themselves, no matter what kind of attack is being thrown! Even if the attacker loses their cool and concentration, those trained athletes are specifically conditioned to execute attacks and throws without letting it break their focus. There is maybe a 0.01% chance that a complete novice could successfully throw a professional wrestler or a judo expert just because the athlete lost their grip on the situation.

It is honestly such a blessing that they have implemented separate belt rankings at the Los Angeles Open as well...

They simply shouldn't be combined, nor should they ever be!
I wasn't being sarcastic at all, so there really was no need for that reaction from you!
My genuine belief is that some of our local fighters could actually pose a serious threat to many athletes who hold much higher belt rankings than they do. 👍

Exactly! With our white squad featuring Kvesa, Pizdek, Bažulić, Plihta, Marina, and the rest of the crew, the blue team was honestly lucky they didn't have to face us directly!
I suspect the "black" team would have to give it their absolute all just to stand a chance, and even then, there wouldn't be any guarantees or refunds for their efforts! 😉

It seems that just as much as he was unfairly criticized before, he's being brought up without cause now too!
Out of the three in his category, he was firmly in third place! There was simply no way for him to be fourth, even if he had tried! 👍

The reason he’s feeling unknown is simply because he’s the one who actually needs to gear up in athletic wear and basketball sneakers, while the folks in suits are busy handling the business side of things.

Brandon Lopez, do you train BJJ too? And where at?

Yes, I do train, right here in Miami, at the one and only BJJ club in town. I actually heard some buzz that Dean and Tony are planning to open a new club this fall, which should make things quite interesting.
The gym where I currently train was originally founded by that Argentinian guy, Rodolfo, though he's actually living in Iraq these days.

A new club?
So, they finished their seminars, picked up their belts, and then decided to move on from their current coach?
I have to wonder why they aren't just applying everything they've learned within their own gym, even if it means showing it to their own coach.
I mean, huge congratulations on the new belts, truly, and opening a second location is perfectly fine if the goal is to expand the BJJ scene to a different part of the city, but if it's purely intended to create competition against their own original gym, that doesn't seem quite right.
