And why on earth would you think NVIDIA's features are just some useless extras?
They're anything but... they really make a difference... especially when you look at things like adaptive Vsync and PhysX... they're actually incredibly useful tools once you get used to them 🙂

I’m just sitting here wondering what I’d even do with adaptive Vsync if I picked up something like a 7970, since that card definitely has enough muscle to maintain a steady frame rate on its own... I'd much rather skip that "middle ground" solution, which is fine if you need it, but feels a bit redundant when standard Vsync works just fine and an i5 can handle all the physics processing without breaking a sweat...

Benjamin King2 said:The amount of VRAM you have doesn't really make much of a difference when it comes to actual gaming performance, and honestly, having more than 2 GB is mostly useful if you're running a triple-monitor setup. But even then, your GPU is going to be the bottleneck long before the memory becomes an issue. You might want to check out some of these reviews to see how it plays out:

I hear what you're saying, but I personally spend a lot of time using mods with massive texture packs—sometimes I even enjoy making them myself as a hobby—and from what most people I know tell me, those specific scenarios definitely push VRAM usage past that 2 GB mark... And besides, isn't it worth looking a little further down the road, since high-resolution textures are pretty much becoming the industry standard for all future games anyway...

I was wondering how much overclocking headroom this thing actually has...
I've been hearing that a lot of the stuff the Green company offers is pretty much negligible anyway (like PhysX, Adaptive Vsync, GeForce Experience, Ambient Occlusion—which I think belongs to AMD, they just don't advertise it as much—plus Turbo Boost, FXAA, and TXAA), so I'm leaning towards picking up the 7970 instead, especially since an i5 3570k should be able to handle it just fine. The 7970 has more VRAM, and from what I can tell, it performs better at resolutions higher than 1080p thanks to that 384-bit bus...

I assume the Vapor X was designed specifically to allow for better overclocking, right?...

I’m looking for some advice on picking up a new GPU with a budget of around $300... I’ll be honest, I don't really know my way around all the advanced Nvidia and AMD features, but I really want something that can handle massive gaming textures and heavy ENB mods as smoothly as possible. I definitely need a card with at least 3GB of VRAM, so I'm torn between grabbing a 7970 (maybe the GHz edition?) or just ordering a 670 or 680 with 4GB from Newegg, since they're pretty hard to find locally here in the States...

If a Radeon card can actually pull all those heavy visuals off, especially considering it usually has a wider memory bus, I’d much rather just pick one up here at a local shop... but if Nvidia offers some specific advantages that I'm totally unaware of, then I guess I won't mind waiting a bit longer for my Newegg package to arrive...
Thanks

Larry Ortiz5 said:I think I messed up the connection and told the repair shop that I fried the motherboard... Basically, the computer would turn on, but there was just nothing on the monitor, and even after we swapped out the graphics card, it didn't change a thing. Now I'm sitting here wondering how you can actually fry a board just by messing up those pins...

That's really not possible, because those two things are directly linked...

So, I finally sorted out that annoying system freezing issue I was dealing with... I just wanted to jump on here and let everyone know that the mystery is officially solved.
Basically, I was running an ASUS Z77 Extreme paired with an Intel Core i5-3570K on Windows 7 64-bit, and the whole thing kept locking up on me, especially after leaving it sitting idle for a while—things like overnight rendering jobs, sorting through database files, or just letting a torrent run through the night.

It turns out the culprit was actually something incredibly simple... I had accidentally swapped the RESET switch and the HDD Sw connections on the system panel header, basically plugging them into the wrong slots.

Just thought I’d share in case anyone else runs into something similar... 🤣

Robert Rodriguez2 said:but what about the power supply?

That’s actually a really good point, and I’m definitely looking to pick up something high-quality (and ideally quiet, too)... What would you suggest given that I'm planning on pushing the CPU overclocking to the limit, paired with a single SSD, 2x 4GB RAM sticks at 1600, and whatever GPU fits this build? I'll be working with some pretty massive textures, and since speed isn't my absolute top priority—I'd actually prefer an AMD card over an Nvidia one—I was wondering what might work best...

Right now, I'm looking at an ASUS Z68 Extreme3 paired with an Intel Core i5-3570K. I could probably stretch my budget up to $450 if needed...

I’m definitely jumping on board with this request, specifically looking for suggestions regarding graphics cards up to $833 (though in my case, I really need as much Video RAM as possible to handle all those heavy textures in Autodesk Maya), but I also want to dive into why some of these options are just total garbage, how bit depth actually matters, and the whole Intel vs Nvidia debate...

Thanks
Sleep schedules and circadian rhythms in Health ·
Immunity levels are highly accurate, yet they remain entirely relative to an individual's specific system. It’s certainly not the same for everyone.

I personally tend to notice irregularities in heart rhythm... In my view, chronic exhaustion is what really causes those fatal accidents on the highway. As for malignant diseases, there is absolutely no proof there.

If someone wanted to shift their circadian rhythm regarding certain hormone secretions, including Melatonin, how much time would it actually take to establish that habit—for instance, by strictly sleeping only during the afternoon for a full 24-hour cycle (staying awake through the night and the morning hours)?
wiredcanyon2 said:If you’re seeing spots or feeling things go dark when you stand up straight, it’s just because your blood pressure is dropping—which happens to pretty much everyone—but it sounds like your body’s internal compensation system is just being a little slow to react in those moments. You might want to try sipping on more fluids throughout the day and just be careful not to jump up too fast, especially when you're getting out of bed...

I definitely agree with the advice about staying hydrated throughout the day. I was actually wondering myself why the response would be a bit delayed...

I’m guessing you’re following a specific diet alongside your workout routine?
If these are just brief episodes—like when you're shifting from lying down to standing up during a workout—then there really isn't much to worry about...

Diagnosing CKP issues is always one of the toughest hurdles, but looking at cases similar to yours, things tend to get much more manageable if you stay on top of your nutrition, especially making sure you get enough foods rich in essential substances like choline and phenylalanine, which I imagine you might be avoiding right now...

Anyway, props to you for staying consistent with your training, 👍
Jessica Rivera said:I was wondering if a detailed systematic physical—which I have to go through for work since they require me to be in perfect health to clear my employment—might reveal that I'm taking Paxil... Like, would it show up on blood tests, urine samples, or liver function tests?

That’s really my own business, and honestly, I don't feel like I owe anyone an explanation, so I'm not planning on saying a word... Besides, I'm cutting ties with them anyway...

Does anyone happen to know, please...?

That’s actually possible if you know exactly what specific markers to look for in your bloodwork, because this isn't something you'll find on any standard panel... I've never seen the SSRIs you're taking included in those types of routine screenings, either. Usually, those specific tests are only ordered when doctors are closely monitoring levels during a targeted course of treatment...
Joshua Ortiz10 said:Hey there! My iron levels are at 5.5 and my hemoglobin is 133 (which sounds pretty decent, right?).
My doctor told me I don't have anemia since my hemoglobin looks fine. My diet is mostly fruit, veggies, and meat.
But I keep getting these moments where everything just goes black in front of my eyes. I’m wondering if I should actually take some kind of supplement or if I should just let things balance out on their own...
Thanks, 🙂

I really recommend everyone focus on building up muscle strength, especially in your legs. If you ever feel like you're going to faint, just sit down and put your head between your knees, or even try coughing forcefully a few times—it helps push blood back up to the brain, regardless of whatever your body type might be, which can sometimes make things feel more difficult...

I’ve been training Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu for about two years now, and I’m really looking to branch out and try some actual Judo, specifically if there are full-contact sessions available...
I was chatting with some guys who are planning to join the special forces soon, and they mentioned an outfit called 'Alfa' being pretty much the go-to spot in the city...
But I’m wondering what the rest of the landscape looks like, you know? Are there more laid-back, recreational clubs out there for someone just looking to train without all the intensity...

To wrap things up, I’d love some solid recommendations on where to go, especially looking for the most budget-friendly spots—maybe even some student discounts—and where they're located... I’m mainly interested in traditional, code-based training rather than those various self-defense classes you see everywhere, since I don't exactly have a ton of faith in those, though I haven't actually tried one myself yet...
