Dealing with pollen and dust allergies...
in Health ·
Alright, a massive allergy flare-up just hit me, so I'm checking to see if there's any solution I might have missed. I've scrolled through almost everything here, but decided to jump in and share my own little arsenal of meds.
I'm highly allergic to ragweed, pollen, weeds—and a minor sensitivity to pet dander—but when things get critical (like right now in August), absolutely everything bothers me. Dust, debris, basically any particle in the air irritates my membranes. It’s likely crossed over into allergic asthma at this point. Been dealing with this for about 12 years now...
Some stuff that has actually worked for me:
1. Flixonase — nasal spray, 1-2 sprays in each nostril every morning.
Or Tafen nasal — anti-inflammatory, good for allergic rhinitis.
2. Allergy relief — small sublingual tablets (under the tongue).
3. Propolis ointment — I apply it inside the nostrils to create a barrier against allergens.
I've also used Nasaleez powder for the same purpose—it helps!
4. Claritin — one absolute essential for calming down symptoms.
5. Black seed oil — you're supposed to start early (something I never quite manage to do), but it definitely helps boost immunity.
6. Alvesco inhaler — for those with asthma attacks—once every morning.
7. Ventolin — inhaler aerosol—for immediate attacks.
8. Breathing exercises, yoga, and salt rooms.
There's a mix of hard science and "wellness" stuff here, depending on what you believe in.
All of this has helped me, or at least taken the edge off. Hopefully, it does the same for some of you!
