Bivacyn and rashes in Health ·
I ended up using some antiseptic spray on my nose while I was cleaning out the wound..
I heard a while back that Bivacyn isn't even being stocked anymore. Actually, my grandfather needed it for a cut on his leg about five months ago, and we couldn't find it anywhere—not at a single CVS or Walgreens in town..
Period talk: Questions and advice in Women's Health ·
Here’s the situation:
I’ve been on birth control for about two years now, and I’m just wrapping up a two-month break. I’m planning to start back up on my pill in about five days—basically, right when my next period is supposed to show up. If everything goes according to plan (and let's face it, things rarely do), I should be seeing my period maybe a day or two before New Year's Eve—assuming the usual 21 days of pills plus those 3 or 4 days of waiting. The thing is, I have a trip coming up, and I really don't want to deal with my period while I'm away. So, I'm looking to delay it.
If I decide to skip the break and just keep taking them:
- Should I extend the cycle by just a week, or go ahead and finish a whole extra 21-day pack?
- Has anyone else had any weird side effects from skipping the placebo week? So far, everything has been totally fine 🙏—no issues at all, aside from some cellulite—and even during this little break, my cycle arrived right on schedule (though we'll see if that consistency holds up). I really don't want to mess with a system that seems to be working perfectly fine...
- Does it matter if I jump straight into the next pack immediately?

There’s also a chance I won't even need to do this—if my period decides to show up early (within the next couple of days 👍) or if it decides to take its sweet time (maybe in 11 days or so 👎). But, better safe than sorry, right? I'd rather be prepared for any scenario... ☕
Well, here I am dealing with this stabbing ovarian pain too... 🙂
So, here’s how the story goes: before I even started taking birth control, I was seeing Dr. Ginić for exams and ultrasounds and all that. She told me I had cysts on my ovaries, but that they would clear up once I started hormone pills. So, I was taking them—but back then, I wasn't getting regular ultrasounds, so I honestly don't know if anything actually changed... and now it's time for my two-month break (which is happening right now). Basically, she told me that once I start this break, I should get my bloodwork done along with all those tests I did before starting the pills—just to see if everything is okay...
My bloodwork came back fine, but there were quite a few bacteria in my urine. She suggested I drink that nasty urological tea to clear it up, but I have to admit—I haven't really been drinking it since she told me; I just stick to regular tea. And on the ultrasound, the cysts showed up again! But she says—again—that they'll go away once I start the pills again...
Now, the thing is—when I went for this last exam, I hadn't been on the pills for maybe two weeks—so is it possible they appeared that fast, or maybe they never actually went away?
And during that last exam, she pokes at my stomach—does it hurt? No, it doesn't—everything seems fine. I hadn't even made it home before—of course, my stupid ovary starts stabbing me!
I was reading about cysts on that medical website—and they completely terrified me... 😢
What could be causing this stabbing sensation, and what am I supposed to do? I just started my period—but the stabbing is still there... maybe it'll stop during the day... I don't know... 🤷
