Carol Scott98 said:No big deal. I didn't even have hemorrhoids before I started college. That whole "glued to the chair" lifestyle from studying too much and moving too little—not to mention that mystery meat they serve in the dining hall—only makes things worse.
Let me know if you need anything else. 🙂
Best,
P.S.—I heard about the cold water thing too, but honestly, I don't do it. You know what they say: sitting on a cold seat can trigger or worsen hemorrhoids. So, I avoid anything cold. Besides, from what I understand, cold constricts blood vessels, which is the last thing you want when you need proper circulation. Just my two cents, though... we should probably look it up. 😉
Oh, right, I almost forgot... I asked my dad yesterday and he said definitely skip the cold water and stick to lukewarm. It actually makes sense with what you were saying... and my dad's been through this enough to know.
Basically, I agree with everything you wrote. We eat junk, we sit all day, we barely move. It was only a matter of time before the consequences caught up with us.
By the way, today is 👍, totally smooth sailing!

Yeah, those are internal ones. It’s exactly the same situation for me. Hemorrhoids can be hereditary. If your dad deals with them, there's a high chance you will too. That tiny spot just means a hemorrhoid burst. It's not the end of the world. Honestly, people deal with bleeding that's way more intense than this. Don't panic. If sitting becomes painful, you can try some ointment or suppositories, but mostly you just need a solid diet, regular bowel movements, keeping the area clean after trips to the bathroom, and staying active. Try avoiding fruit with tough skins or seeds—or just peel them first. Also, cut back on the greasy, spicy stuff. No need to freak out. You'll be fine. 👍
Hey Thomas Roberts9, thanks a ton for the reply. 🙂
I didn't feel a single itch or sting all day, even though I was at the university since 7 AM. I guess listening to your advice last night and using cold water helped 🙂. I'm seriously relieved it's nothing serious; I didn't notice anything on the paper today, and I'm definitely sticking to the cleaning routine from now on 🙂. Thanks again!
Best, 😉
Hey everyone,
So... I've been feeling this slight stinging sensation for about 3 or 4 days now. When I wipe, there’s just a tiny little speck of blood—nothing major, just a small dot. I haven't felt any pea-sized lumps or anything, and my sister even took a look to check things out and said everything seems normal. My digestion is usually fine, I don't eat peanuts, and I stay hydrated with plenty of water, tea, and probiotics. I haven't been particularly active lately since I had some medical tests done and basically had to be a couch potato for a bit.🙂Could this possibly be internal hemorrhoids? My dad deals with this kind of stuff quite a bit, though his issues are likely different since his bowel movements are pretty irregular. Anyway, any advice would be much appreciated...
So... I dealt with those stabbing pains too. At first, my back was killing me so badly I honestly thought it was my kidneys. Went in for an ultrasound, and they told me my kidneys were perfectly fine. Looking back, I connected the dots later—I had stopped taking birth control after a year, and these pains flared up just a few days after I quit. It’s the exact same sensation you're describing: that sharp, stabbing, dull ache, mostly on the right side, though sometimes the left. I actually feared it might be appendicitis, but I don't have any other symptoms. I've got an ultrasound scheduled now, just waiting for my period so I can finally go. About three years ago, I actually ended up in the ER because of intense, stabbing pains—way worse than this. They suspected appendicitis and kept sending me back to the emergency room every single day because they couldn't decide if it was actually my appendix or not. Then, after about five days, the pain just vanished completely. Like nothing ever happened. In the end, they didn't even give me a straight answer...
Anyway, I wondered if this could be happening because I stopped those pills; maybe since my ovaries are trying to function on their own again, things are a bit more difficult, hence the pain. I don't know. My first period after stopping the pill was two weeks late and absolutely brutal.
It's not like I'm in constant pain or obsessing over it, but it's definitely bothersome... more annoying than painful, really.
