Ovaries: Cysts and related issues [General Discussion] in Women's Health ·
There was a period where I wasn't sexually active, and shortly after things resumed, I started experiencing pain in my lower abdomen. It began as a dull ache, then transitioned into sharp, intense pains that eventually migrated toward the left side. Honestly, it felt so severe that I had this terrifying sensation like my ovary was going to just slip out... I initially suspected it might be another yeast infection, which used to plague me quite often when I was on birth control, though I haven't taken any pills for about three months now. Aside from that, I've never really dealt with anything like this before.
I went to see my OB-GYN today, and she suggested that it’s likely some kind of cyst. She prescribed some medication intended to trigger a rupture, which should bring on my period immediately afterward.
Could anyone share some insight based on your own experiences regarding cysts in general? I am particularly interested in learning more about the symptoms and anything else you think is relevant. It's just so difficult to wrap my head around how something like this could suddenly manifest out of nowhere...
Thanks

thank you all 🙂🙂 I don't have PCOS, and I've honestly never dealt with any issues until now. It’s just... overwhelming...
I feel like I've been stuck in PMS mode for weeks now, dealing with every single symptom imaginable, so it really baffles me why nothing seems to be working

My ovaries are absolutely killing me right now... it’s already been 39 days since I stopped taking Yasmin 5 months and I still haven't found any relief

Sophia Young3 said:I'm not sure what your cycle was typically like before you started taking Yasmin, but seeing a bit of a delay after you stop the pill is actually quite common... personally, my period usually shows up somewhere between the 30th and 35th day

Before I started the pill, it used to be exactly every 28 days, always right on schedule

I stopped taking my birth control after a year and a half, and now I’m just waiting for my period to show up. It’s been 33 days and still nothing. I realize there’s a huge chance it might be late since my body hasn't fully adjusted yet, but honestly, I've been feeling all the symptoms for about a week and a half now... it feels like it could happen any second, but then nothing happens. Should I go ahead and take a pregnancy test, or would it be better to wait a few more days?
