Ovaries: Cysts and related issues [General Discussion] in Women's Health ·
Hi, I’ve been reading through the first 7 or 8 pages because I started getting this dull ache near my right ovary, and I began wondering if maybe it could be cysts.
My symptoms are basically this: a dull pain after sitting for a long time (like 2 hours), or if I sit with my legs crossed. That pain kind of radiates down my leg, so I often find myself taking a pill or just walking around to see if it helps. My periods are regular. This pain stays with me constantly if I sit too long; it isn't just happening during ovulation (I know what that sharp stabbing sensation feels like). Over the last month, even having sex has become painful in any position—not to the point of being unbearable, but it definitely kills my libido just thinking about the discomfort.
Aside from that, I've had perfect skin my whole life, but over the last month, I've been dealing with issues I've never had before. Also, I've been needing to pee very frequently, though it doesn't actually hurt when I go.
What do you all think? Is there a chance it might be a cyst?
The pain is always on the right side!
Olivia Hayes89 said:Yeah, it seems pretty obvious there’s an issue with your iron levels... though I imagine you must be dealing with some pretty nasty symptoms if it's actually that low! If the iron is truly that bottomed out, I guess Cyclo wouldn't help all that much either... hmm...
What about your Ferritin, UIBC, TIBC, hemoglobin, hematocrit, Erythrocytes, MCV, MCH, or MCHC?

Cold hands and feet, broken capillaries on my thighs, crazy fatigue, constant sleepiness, struggling to wake up, dizziness when standing up too fast, and really heavy, dark periods... I can't find my lab results anywhere, but I do remember my hemoglobin was 128, which is really all I recall. My doctor told me that if the blood work looks fine, then the iron should be fine too, regardless of whether I can see the specific numbers. I took one dose of Ferrum Lek on my own and honestly felt a lot better, but the instructions say to get blood drawn after one dose so the doctor can prescribe the next, so I stopped. My doctor didn't really give me any guidance on that... Also, my blood pressure is super low—at best, it's around 90 over 60.
Help me out here, guys... I had my blood drawn on August 2nd, and then I went back to the local clinic at 7:00 AM the next morning. Of course, I hadn't eaten or even had water since because I needed to check my iron levels. By the afternoon, my results weren't ready, so I stopped by the lab. They told me they couldn't actually find any iron—apparently, the machine just won't register such a tiny amount. Then, around 2:00 PM, they drew my blood again to run a full CBC. Everything looked fine, but the iron section was blank again. They said they basically gave up because it keeps coming up empty... honestly, I've never heard of anything like that before. So, I go to see the doctor, and he just looks at me and asks, "So... what should we do now?" I'm standing there looking pale, and he just starts rambling about how I need to eat more spinach or whatever... blah, blah, blah. Now what? Am I supposed to go get my blood drawn yet again? On top of everything, I really am struggling with iron issues...🤷

My mom has cysts on both ovaries—about 6cm each—along with some pretty severe inflammation. Her gynecologist prescribed some pills, though I guess they might just be meant to clear them out... I'm just a bit confused, though. It seems like most of you deal with late periods when you have cysts, but she isn't getting hers at all and is in massive pain... we're also currently waiting on her PAP test results ☕ btw, she hasn't reached menopause yet, so I wonder, could these cysts potentially cause more serious issues?
