What happens to Indigo children when they grow up? in Spirituality ·
casualtiger2 said:Indigo children eventually grow up and step up to take responsibility—both for themselves and for the world at large.
They end up becoming a source of inspiration for everyone around them, near and far.
They make the world a better place, not just for themselves, but for everybody else too.
Their massive creativity—paired with that same level of intelligence and a genuine love for life and people—allows them to find all sorts of fresh solutions for both individuals and entire communities.
Through their sensitivity and heightened awareness, they help transform this world in all its forms, pushing us steadily toward harmony, love, and peace.

I read your post and totally get where you're coming from. Honestly, it's been a long time since a perspective like this actually cheered me up.😁

I kept hoping I'd learn how to see auras, but it turns out I'm totally blind to that kind of thing. Turns out my "superpowers" are much more about being an auditory and kinesthetic person. 🙂

Me? I couldn't stop being an Indigo if I tried. Even when I cheated on the answers, the result stayed the same.
I'm gonna try to track down that book from the link. 👍
So you were multicolored? Some "experts"—the kind who claim they see auras—told me I could be blue through violet, but now... I probably need to get tested again.

Joseph Bailey41 said:Right, lavender—thanks for reminding me. I think it was this specific test:

Exactly that. That book was printed back in the day—probably in some small town in Ohio—because so much time has passed. Now it’s just floating around online looking current. It’s dangerous when new generations of curious kids stumble onto total nonsense.
Back when I was 19, I actually thought it was legit. I was all about that "indigo" vibe under the lavender light. 😁 .
Luckily, as I grew up, I outgrew that kind of junk. But I still remember the book.

Joseph Bailey41 said:I actually remember reading a book called "What Color is Your Aura?" back when it first hit the shelves here in the States. It was quite a while ago, so my memory of the specific test and all its possible results is a little fuzzy. In the end, I didn't land on just one color; it was more like a mix of indigo, purple, and blue... though I can't quite recall the exact proportions.

Each color had its own chapter explaining that specific personality type. "Indigo" was treated as something separate later on, supposedly because it was a newer aura color appearing more frequently in children, whereas it was extremely rare among those born in the mid-20th century. After that, you hear about waves of "Crystal" and "Rainbow" children—more aura colors that weren't really in the original book, maybe just briefly mentioned. Since then, the internet has been flooded with info on Indigo, Crystal, and Rainbow kids, and how they differ. Apparently, Indigos are empathetic but prone to conflict, while Crystals are total sweethearts and even more socially awkward than Indigos. As for Rainbow kids, I'm not entirely sure what the deal is—maybe they're clairvoyant or something like that.

So, according to this theory (or fantasy, depending on how you look at it), no color is inherently better than another; rather, certain colors become necessary for humanity's evolution at different times. Indigos were meant to trigger changes that aren't necessarily revolutionary on their own, but serve to prep the world for the sensitive Crystal and Rainbow children, who wouldn't be able to handle their mission in the harsh world that existed before the Indigos arrived. Now, those kids have grown up, so we have these Indigo adults who are now parents to Crystal and Rainbow children—though Indigo children are still being born, along with the red, yellow, green, and blue types... basically all the traditional aura colors.

To truly determine which category someone falls into, you'd actually need to be able to see auras, and I definitely can't do that—nor do I know anyone who can. There was once a woman practicing here—I put 'psychiatrist' in quotes because people later started questioning if her medical degree was even legitimate—who taught an autogenic training course. During the class, students were supposed to intuitively sense the color of their "energy field." I couldn't pull it off, so she told me what mine was, and honestly, it didn't match any of the results from that book test at all. You can find tons of these tests online, and they all serve the same purpose as any other "personality quiz": they're fun to take, the descriptions are about as precise as a horoscope (meaning if you squint, you can find similarities), and then you either laugh it off or dive deep into studying your "type," which can be a nice way for misunderstood or misfit types to feel like they've finally found their tribe.

Thinking about it now... does anyone actually know where the first mentions of auras come from? Not the halos you see in religious paintings, but this specific concept of ethereal, astral bodies and whatnot... where did all of this originate?

Yeah, exactly. That book came out in the early nineties. It was just a bunch of psychological questions where the answers described a specific aura or a secondary color right after the main one. I always ended up being indigo with a lavender sub-aura. 😁
Bottom line? It's just a book of fun nonsense.

Larry Perez69, I’m thinking it’s JJ. 👋 Somewhere actually nice—like the Maldives or Bali—where you can let your body chill out while actually sharpening your brain.

Got it. 😁 Thanks—I read it, but you know how it goes, better safe than sorry. 😁
