My mother saw her gynecologist a few days ago, and they found something on her ovary. The doctor suggested it might be a larger cyst, but she needs to undergo a Doppler ultrasound tomorrow just to be certain. At home, we are quite concerned because the doctor at the clinic noted "Benign ovarian tumor." Above that, it mentions a non-homogeneous round formation measuring 54 x 75 mm behind the uterus. Has anyone had any experience with this? Thanks!
Look, I’m definitely no medical expert here, but I did attend medical school, so I can at least translate some of this Latin jargon for you. Basically, it means a benign ovarian tumor. "Benign" is the key word there—it means it's non-cancerous. They have to use the word "tumor" because, in Latin medical terms, any kind of growth or mass is referred to as a tumor. And "behind the uterus" just describes the location.
It’s very likely something harmless.
That’s just my take on it.
