Joseph Taylor3 said:I can't offer any professional advice, especially regarding those white blood cell counts, but maybe it helps to know my mom had similar results once. Her doctor sent her to the hospital as an Emergency to get checked out immediately. Our whole family was bracing for the worst because it seemed like every single value on her blood work was off. She ended up having a gastroscopy and a bone marrow biopsy, only to find out it was just a severe B12 deficiency. She's been on monthly injections ever since. I'm hoping it turns out to be the exact same thing here.

Good evening. Just wanted to let you know that the biopsy showed anemia caused by a B12 deficiency. The doctor mentioned she'll need shots for life. She's heading home tomorrow. Thanks for all the support!
Good evening. My mother was admitted to the hospital due to poor blood work and her general condition being quite critical. To be specific, her red blood cell count was around 1, hemoglobin was at 49, platelets were at 80, and CRP was 32. I haven't seen the full CBC myself since my husband drove her there while I stayed home with the kids. The doctor mentioned that her white blood cell count and liver enzymes were perfectly normal. He tried to get her to remember as much detail as possible for me. She received transfusions for about two days, though she isn't receiving them today. The doctor noted that the results are improving, and they performed an endoscopy because we suspected internal bleeding after she complained of black stools; however, everything looked fine there, as well as with her gynecological exam. Now, they are moving toward a bone marrow biopsy. I am terrified of that procedure. I guess I wonder if white blood cell counts would stay normal if leukemia were involved? Mom says she feels slightly better and seems to have some color returning to her face. The doctor also mentioned her B12 is low, which might be the cause, so she will start vitamin injections this Friday after the biopsy. These are going to be long days. I'm torn because she says she feels better, but maybe that could be deceptive. If anyone understands these numbers, could you please explain them to me? Thank you.
Dealing with hemorrhoids – any advice? in Health ·
Hi everyone. I’m not quite sure where to start, so maybe I'll just begin at the beginning. I am 14 weeks pregnant, and it seems like my digestive issues started right around the time I conceived. I wouldn't say I had regular bowel movements before, but now it feels like it only happens every three or four days. Naturally, the stool is hard, which leads to a lot of pain and blood in my stool and on the toilet paper. There is also blood left behind in the toilet bowl—it leaves a trail wherever it goes. I called my primary care physician, and she promptly referred me to my OB-GYN. He suggested I focus on my diet and try using glycerin suppositories. That has softened things up a bit; I’ve actually managed to go three days in a row now. However, on the first day, there wasn't a drop of blood, but by the second day, it felt like it was stinging as everything passed, along with the blood. Today was the same, and it isn't just a tiny amount. I looked, and every movement leaves a trace, and the amount of blood on the toilet paper is just crazy. I am honestly terrified right now. Is it possible for hemorrhoids to cause this much bleeding? My husband looked and saw two or three small fissures near my anus, but I don't know if that explains all this blood. My appointment with the OB-GYN isn't until the 16th, but I'm feeling lost. Does anyone have experience with this? Any advice? Also, do they perform colonoscopies during pregnancy? How uncomfortable is that procedure? I tend to panic easily, and now I'm imagining the absolute worst-case scenarios. Please, if anyone can offer some comfort or guidance, I would really appreciate it. 😭
Ovaries: Cysts and related issues [General Discussion] in Women's Health ·
Hi! Back in October, I saw my gynecologist who found some cysts on my ovaries. When I asked what the next steps for treatment were, he just said they’d pass on their own. He claimed they were caused by stress and would just go away, which left me feeling pretty confused. This month, my period was late—usually, my cycle is between 30 and 34 days, but this time it hit day 42. Interestingly, the month before that exam, when the cysts were first discovered, my period was also late at day 40. Now that my period has finally arrived, my ovaries feel more sensitive than usual. I was wondering if any of you experienced delayed periods because of cysts? What were your periods like during that time? Are these cysts dangerous? Can they really just disappear without any medical intervention? Once my period finishes, I'm planning to see a private specialist because I'm not sure I can trust my current doctor. I tend to panic easily, and this whole situation has been really unsettling. To make matters worse, my doctor didn't even tell me what kind of cysts they were unless I specifically asked if everything was okay; I honestly wonder if he would have even mentioned them at all. Thanks girls 🙂

All set. I just set up a new profile and it started working immediately; you wouldn't believe how fast the old one went down.

I’ve read through everything, but I don't see any real benefit here....

I’m having an issue with Meta; I can't seem to access my own profile. Every time I enter my password and hit login, I just get a white screen—basically a completely blank page. I've already tried on two different laptops and two different phones, but it's the same result every time. Other profiles load without any problems. Does anyone happen to know what might be causing this?
