So, therapy kicks off just ten days after the surgery, and since I work retail—where you basically can't stop talking—there’s no way I can pull a shift.
My doctor told me to just plan on being out of commission for about a month straight.
And then? Well, it all just depends on how things go with my rehab exercises... 😢

I've got surgery scheduled to get these vocal nodules removed—it's on my vocal cords—and they told me I'll have to deal with about a week of total silence before I can even start voice therapy.
I haven't really dug into the specifics of what the recovery actually looks like or when my voice will finally feel "normal" again (I know everyone's different, obviously...), but I'm mostly wondering when I can realistically get back to work. My job is super voice-heavy, so that's the big question.
If anyone here has gone through this, please, please share your experience!
I’m guessing I’ll be out on medical leave for at least two weeks (maybe a few days in the hospital followed by the silence period), but then what? The tricky part is I need to give my boss a heads-up on how long I won't be able to speak properly, but it feels like I won't even know for sure until I start those exercises, you know? :/ 😢

It looks like everyone here has nothing but horror stories about the USPS... but honestly? I actually want to give my local post office a massive shoutout! 🙂 I always show up with my packages neatly wrapped, though once they did try to tell me I should probably tie them up with some twine... but hey, I still don't do it 😁 and I never make a fuss about paying the extra fees $4.75 for out-of-town shipping. As for stuff going $3.25 right here in town... the only tiny hiccup was last time when they tried to charge me like $5 (because they flagged it as certified mail instead of just a standard package). I just calmly explained that I always send them as regular packages, and they were super sweet about it! They apologized, fixed the price on the spot, and charged me the normal rate $4.75. Seriously, we need way more employees like that 👍

Today I’m sending out a package with COD, and since they’ve played games with me before—claiming it’ll arrive by 10 AM the next day (which is the most expensive tier)—I made sure to mention I want my friend to pay as little as possible. I suggested around 15-$6.75 so she doesn't get overcharged, but the lady behind the counter just tells me that because it’s a COD shipment, it’s already $6.75! 😕
What are you guys usually getting charged for shipping?
People have mentioned this before, about how you need to fill out that specific form for insured packages but make sure to emphasize it's being sent as a standard parcel. I always pack stuff up myself in whatever size box I have lying around, wrap it in paper, and clearly state it's a package. The value inside is usually around 50-$33 and it always ends up costing me $4.75 (though once I paid about $6.00 because the value was closer to $67).
Oh, and usually, the package shows up in 2 or 3 days.
