I had a similar issue once, which turned out to be caused by laundry detergent. I was hand-washing everything and just didn't rinse it out properly enough.

Try explaining to a friend that seeing a gynecologist is just like going to the dentist. Only, if you skip the gynecologist, the consequences are significantly worse.

Pick up some Apiprodent mouth spray; you can find it at basically any CVS or Walgreens. I’ve been dealing with mouth ulcers for years and finally realized they pop up whenever my immune system takes a hit—usually during PMS, when I’m sick, or something along those lines.
Start using the spray the second you notice them starting to form. Give it a few sprays several times a day, and they should clear up in two or three days. If they’re already fully developed, the spray won't make them vanish instantly, but it’ll take the edge off so you can actually eat and function.
There. That's my firsthand experience. It works. 😉

You just reminded me that I really ought to burn that album to a CD. It's currently buried under a mountain of old cassette tapes somewhere in my garage! 😁
