Lyrica usage and experiences
in Health ·
Hey, I really need some advice regarding Lyrica/pregabalin.
Here’s the deal: I’ve been dealing with this neuropathic pain, and for the last month, it’s become absolutely unbearable. This pain in my lower back has spread down my leg and it’s waking me up in the middle of the night. Honestly, my leg feels weak too—I literally can't function or even walk properly because of this stuff. Yesterday, I finally snapped and went to the ER because I just couldn't take it anymore. They pumped me full of Tramal and Ketorolac to kill the pain, and then the neurologist there wrote me a script for pregabalin. The plan is to start at 75 mg at night, then bump it up to 75 mg twice a day after two weeks, and eventually hit 2x150 mg after a month.
I already tried using Cymbalta for this neuropathic pain, but since it didn't do squat for me, I just quit taking it.
Now I'm sitting here scrolling through the internet reading about pregabalin, and it's a total mixed bag. You see some good reviews, but then you hit all these scary ones talking about crazy addiction issues and brutal side effects. It's honestly freaking me out, and now I'm stuck wondering if I should even bother starting it.
If anyone else has dealt with this specific med for neuropathic pain, please, please share your experience.🙂
