If you don't know someone, does that mean you shouldn't even comment on their photos? 🍿

I agree. 🍿

Modern stuff like The IT Crowd, Plebs, or Bad Education is top tier.

A lot of the older ones don't really land, especially with younger crowds.

Black Hole is pretty much the only one I'm sure everyone would vibe with, whereas a lot of them were total garbage to me.

Honestly, I'll even admit this—even The Mućak doesn't hold up for me like it used to. Time has definitely worn it down, unlike Seinfeld, which is still solid.

I actually started watching Spaced the other day, and it's excellent.
How exactly has The Mućak aged poorly?
Especially now with everything going on in America, you can really relate to that show.
If you're looking for comedy, just stick to British series.
Looks like I'm going to have to start rewatching The Walking Dead from the beginning.

It's hard to take someone seriously when they contradict themselves from one post to the next. 🤣
James Garcia50 is pretty persistent, you have to give him that. 😁

So you're admitting it. 😁
I have one rule for the internet: Everyone is a man until proven otherwise.
James Garcia50 is worse than any politician.
People binge the biggest shows and movies just to stay in the loop with friends and because they're being advertised everywhere you look.
James Garcia50 said:It's simple: the True Detective writers used existing material, and Leone filmed a remake.

I said True Detective isn't a good show—that's my stance—and I just happened to mention the writers borrowed from a British series. Even with those "borrowed" parts, TD still has plenty of flaws and weak spots; if it didn't, I might actually value it less because of the borrowing.

As for Alien: some people are inspired, others are just plagiarists.

That post makes zero sense. 🤣
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/A_Fistful_of_Dollars

The film Has been identified as an unofficial remake of The Akira Kurosaw film Yojimbo, which led to a successful lawsuit by Toho.

Kurosaw insisted that Leon Had made "a fine movie, but it was MY movie."[25] Leone ignored the lawsuit at first, but they eventually settled out of court. He reportedly paid 15% of the worldwide receipts of a Fistful of Dollars and over $100,000.

It was a total rip-off.
Bad picture quality in old movies?
I have no idea what kind of old films you're watching.
A Fistful of Dollars wasn't a remake, it was straight-up plagiarism. 😁

I prefer the classics like The Princess Bride, Les Visiteurs, Charlie's Angels, or even the relatively newer ones like Rush Hour 1 and 2, White Chicks, and Death AT a Funeral.
Those are the first ones that pop into my head, though there are surely others.

Are you saying White Chicks is better than Four Lions?🤔
shadowangler50 said:The show is about zombies, but the action and the undead elements are secondary—unlike those zombie movies where mindless action is the whole point. Given the subject matter, those human dynamics are naturally going to be front and center.

If you find that boring, that's your problem, not mine. And as for those comedies on your list? I've watched them, and I didn't laugh more than three times in an entire movie. You gave them a 7; I wouldn't even give them a 4. If you think they're funny, fine, but I don't.

You didn't laugh more than three times?
Then tell me, what actually counts as a good comedy to you?
Don't tell me it's The Big Bang Theory.🤣

It’s not working. 😁
James Garcia50 said:You claimed those random Danish shows that got remade by US studios were unimportant. You're wrong.
And you said foreign films bore audiences? Wrong again.

An American series will never touch the quality of a British one; they can only dream.

We aren't splitting hairs here; we're talking about movies and shows, which means we're talking about authorship.

It’s not the same.
Theft is theft, but for a remake, the rights were bought legally and the deal was signed at the office. Huge difference.

The Americans tried to copy it, but when it doesn't work, it just doesn't work.

I don't know about you. 😁
I'm definitely not the only one who found Walking Dead boring and just gave up on it this season—honestly, I've lost track of which season they're even on now.
shadowangler50 said:That show is built on interpersonal drama, not just mindless zombie killing.
Maybe your expectations for the series are just misplaced.

Doesn't every single show focus on human relationships?
What other shows are actually about animal interactions?
