For Prime members, $423 including shipping and tax differences.

I joined yesterday and didn't even need Prime. They obviously underestimated how many people would jump on this at such a low price.
It's already up to $190.

Man, I had a strong feeling something was coming. Either an 8-core option or some massive price drops. Now there's a glitch where they're listing the 8c16 alongside the R5 1600 (must be week 28 or 36). I actually planned on waiting for Black Friday or Cyber Monday at the end of the month because I struggled so much getting an SSD last time and I'm in no rush. Clearly, I shouldn't have waited. 😁

I bet we'll see similar moves then, too. Even the standard retail prices will probably drop since I doubt AMD will let the i5 8400 stay cheaper or even match them.

I still need a motherboard. I'm torn between the B350 Prime Plus, the B350-F, or maybe an ASUS X370 Pro if it hits a sale soon. I've already ruled out the cheap MSI X370; I heard the Krait has pretty bad feedback, like one guy had to RMA his three times. We'll see.

You can find an ASRock AB350M Pro4 at Best Buy for $213.

Looks like this might just be the permanent price for the R5 1600.
Got an R5 1600 for about $185 including shipping on Amazon.
Roughly $433.

Amazon, an XFX RX 580 for 285 bucks including shipping.

GPU prices are dropping, so you can actually pick up an RX 580 8GB now for $713.

Douglas Fisher78 said:I've looked at some 24'' monitors, but I honestly have no clue which one is better. I think I'll just grab a cheap 24" Full HD one for now and wait a bit longer to get something actually worth the money.

That's the worst way to go. You're better off just picking up something decent right now so you can be done with it.

The Samsung is still the better deal.

$833 including shipping, $40 more expensive than this old BenQ.
Does this BenQ not have DP?

For that kind of money, you could grab a Dell Latitude instead. It's a much better deal.
I need an AMD card because of my FreeSync monitor.
It was a steal at $2400, but I was broke. 😁
Timothy Kim60 said:That's it. It's an old link, though. Most stuff from the European Amazons ships straight to the US anyway.

I'm waiting for the RX 580 8GB to hit $667 before I grab one.

$300 including standard shipping

What were you shipping back in the States then?

Douglas Fisher78 said:Hey, I'm looking at some GPUs and wondering which one is better:

ASUS AMD Aorus RX 580 XTR 8GB

Or

Gigabyte GF NVIDIA GTX 1060 6 GB 9GBPS
https://www.bestbuy.com/gigabyte-gpu-example

Which one is better for gaming and why? 🙂

It depends. If you have a 144Hz monitor or plan on getting one, a G-Sync monitor will cost you at least an extra $100.

I'm mostly worried about the build quality since it's used, and if the price is fair (it feels slightly overpriced to me).
I'm looking for something secondhand to run the Adobe suite and some 3D animation, though I won't be gaming much.

Thanks.

Honestly, you could probably buy something brand new and better for the same money. Plus, you won't have any upgrade path in a year or two. It's got an old AMD processor and DDR3 memory.

Samuel Castillo49 said:Thanks for the suggestions. Take a look at this one too—it’s out of stock right now, but I think it’s a solid deal compared to the others, $667 including shipping: https://www.amazon.com/EVGA-GTX-1060-Graphics-Card/dp/B071CQ5LRV/ It's not an absolute steal because the market is acting crazy, but it seems fair. What do you guys think?

That card hasn't been in stock since August, and it won't be back for at least a month.
If you can wait, maybe something will pop up for Black Friday or Cyber Monday. That's about a month and a half away.

They’re playing this on ultra settings, while I just run League of Legends on low. 😁

Timothy Kim60 said:You're just taking the opposite extreme here.

Not really. You're generalizing again. What about the XFX GTR?

Don't be a brand loyalist. Look at each product individually, especially when you consider the price.

Wrong. 😁
Around 100C is actually a normal temperature for VRMs. Most of them are rated up to 125°C...

To be fair, you’d be trying to save some money too. Both options have their pros and cons. For a lot of people, having that third year of warranty is the deciding factor, and it makes the card easier to resell later.

That's a different story if you aren't living in the States.

You'd save about $100, once you factor in shipping, but an extra year of warranty is worth more than $100.

Timothy Kim60 said:You can grab the MSI Gaming 8GB at a few local shops like Best Buy for $717. It’s an incredible deal for the US market and easily one of the best models out there.

That's exactly how I compared the price.

Timothy Kim60 said:Honestly, you could have gotten something similar back home in the States with a 3-year warranty for nearly the same price. Usually, it's just a 2-year standard over here, and then you're on your own if things break. But whatever, it's fine.

I was checking out an RX 480 8GB yesterday. It was about $250 on Amazon, but locally it's around $133 more expensive, though you get that 3-year warranty coverage.
