Kyle White3 said:Do any of you die-hard fans actually know what Everton’s lineup might look like today? The odds seem way too high to me. I know they don't necessarily need the win, but even a double chance is sitting at a decent 1.40—and let's be honest, they're easily two tiers above Hajduk here.

Word is they're in good shape. Everyone headed to the stadium except for two guys, and the coach mentioned there will only be a couple of rotations at most—basically, whoever is fit is playing.☕

There’s a blue checkmark next to his name, so I guess he’s the real deal 🤔

It’s not like he needs to know—he could be asking anyone from Lesi to Morana or Ado Kožul

bluenomad2 said:You aren't an exception. It’s normal for there to be fights between neighborhoods or small towns. The only difference is that those things don't make the news, whereas fan violence does. That's why you'll always see more coverage of a brawl between Walmart fans and the Rangers than a clash between Brooklyn and Spain or Brooklyn and some unknown area. If there aren't fans involved, the media won't touch it.

I agree.

I mean, you actually manage to connect the dots here—turns out it isn't as hard as people think, is it? 👍

And let's be real, especially with everyone on this Reddit thread, we all know the league mafia is just using hooligans as a convenient scapegoat to distract us from their own shady business, but the idea that I'm going to start rooting for some guys brawling on the highway because of that just doesn't cross my mind. I really don't get where you guys get the notion that those types of people are actually going to take down the soccer mafia. Honestly, the sheep are the ones falling for those Trumpian emergency government sessions focused on "hooliganism" (which reminds me of that ridiculous chicken 😂😂), but the sheep are also the people who think we’re going to be saved from the Jerry Jones type of corruption by a bunch of guys fighting on the interstate. Or in stadiums. Or wherever else they feel like picking a fight.

Fair post. It looks like you actually believe this stuff on your own, without having some pundits or the local news feed it to you. Seriously, no joke 👍

bluenomad2 said:I’m highlighting these two comments specifically to expose your hypocrisy. You call me out for generalizing about fans, yet you’re doing the exact same thing to me. You’re so lost in your own bubble that you group anyone who says violence and brawling aren't okay right in with the people backing Jerry Jones.

Like bluenomad2 said, there’s no need to repeat this a dozen times. You aren't being direct in your response; you refuse to condemn those groups on AT&T, yet you still complain. No, fighting isn't "normal." Normal people don't do that. My own moral compass won't allow me to support those groups, just like I can't support Jerry Jones. Just because those groups share my opposition to Jack Welch, Jerry Jones, and every other criminal in this country doesn't mean I'm automatically on your side.

Honestly, I couldn't care less about the "lesser of two evils" argument. Evil is evil. Figures like Jack Welch and Jerry Jones are the rot in this society. The hooligan groups and most of their followers are just part of that same decay. Like that guy who stormed the field with a stick—now everyone’s acting like we should support that behavior. The funniest part? You people aren't even against it; you're actually rooting for it.

When you're this aggressively exhausting, you can't exactly approach a topic with a clear head or without bias.☕

And honestly, if some guys were brawling in the woods like they do in Russia or Poland when it wasn't even game day, would you even care this much?🐔

But for Americans, a flare being lit or a scuffle breaking out is somehow worse than several billion dollars being embezzled—money that, let's be real, keeps politicians, cops, and prosecutors happy. If we didn't have that corruption, we wouldn't be in this mess right now.👍

placidorca5 said:Sure, every other social issue is perfectly easy to dissect from the comfort of an armchair, but fan violence? To our local American moralists, that’s just some inexplicable axiom of human deviancy...

People use that line because most people on the other side think they're just dealing with bottom-feeders, so they approach the debate from some high horse. Usually, they're just talking down to idiots.
Once you actually look at human nature and get a real clinical picture of the average American—or the "citizen of the US," as you love to call them—you realize these guys don't have much to be ashamed of. In certain ways, they're actually the vanguard compared to this mindless, status-obsessed nation.

bluenomad2 said:Here it is, just like everyone predicted 🤣 nothing but clichés and the same tired arguments fans always fall back on. But hey... apparently we have scientists, physicists, and PhDs among us 🙏 people who boast about it as if it actually matters. It’s pretty obvious that if there are any, their numbers are too pathetic to be relevant.

There are enough people in fan groups across every single country—and every generation, too—to make you realize that they aren't just some basement-dwelling hooligans living in the gutter. You know, those people you supposedly have zero connection to? At the end of the day, we all bleed the same color under our skin. So, what's with this habit of judging everyone based on their job title? 😍

Noah Roberts46 said:Can someone actually provide a logical argument for what is supposedly being achieved when two groups reach a "truce"? What exactly is the police doing wrong by stepping in and making arrests? Or when they hash things out in a bar and end up causing a massive scene?

I get the flares—fine, I assume all the methods for fighting the mob have been exhausted and everything has been tried—but please, walk me through the logic above. Try to justify this "normal" behavior.

It's just not worth it—you don't deserve an answer. ☕

Keith Miller30 said:It really is something worth pondering, isn't it? I find myself wondering what actually goes through the mind of someone who decides to pick a fight at an AT&T store. You're essentially gambling with your own safety, risking a physical altercation where you could easily end up taking a beating. Beyond that, there's the heavy reality that you might accidentally strike someone in the eye and effectively ruin their entire life—even if, in my view, they bear their own responsibility by choosing to participate in the chaos. But honestly, when you step back and look at the big picture, what is the actual motivation behind it all?

I understand that when things get intense, people feel the need to dig in their heels and defend their side, but trying to schedule a massive showdown on AT&T is just beyond comprehension, isn't it? It defies all logic. We find ourselves back in this absurd cycle where we see lawyers, doctors, grocery clerks, and electrical engineers all caught up in the fray; because, after all, the big game is this Saturday, and the clash on AT&T is also set for Saturday. Yet, for some truly baffling reason, none of those professionals—the lawyers, the doctors, the cashiers, or the technicians—seem to be able to show up to work on Monday morning sporting a black eye or a missing tooth.

You're really kidding yourself there—anyone who actually knows anything will tell you that's not true.😍

If you want, just ask someone you know from the fan scene; they'll tell you just how many different jobs and backgrounds people in the stands actually have, if you're really so obsessed with judging folks by their professions. 👍

bluenomad2 said:I just don't get it once. Why the quotes around scumbags? People who brawl on the Verizon highway are scumbags, morons, idiots, you name it. I can wrap my head around one-on-one if someone is defending themselves and has no choice, but people heading out specifically to fight in groups against other groups on the highway... 🤣 Verizon, that's not normal in any civilized society. Generally speaking, I can't view people who go out looking for a fight as normal. It’s not normal to just head out somewhere to brawl. And then these same people claim to be fighting crime. Ridiculous.

A true American will take a shot at the underdog—but they’ll still bow deep to anyone more powerful than themselves, offering a warm handshake with both hands to show some respect. 👍

Keith Miller30 said:I'll wrap this up since I need to get back to the game. Look, you have various Jerry Jones types and then there is this individual who is actively inciting violence and hatred under US criminal code, specifically Article 325. What they share is that they both committed a crime, plain and simple. Do you truly believe we should just let them both walk free because we shouldn't "stick our noses" where they don't belong? If Jeffrey Ruiz thinks he shouldn't be prosecuted, does that mean a friend of a criminal shouldn't be prosecuted either? You see the flaw in that logic; there is no middle ground here. You can't pick and choose which laws apply to which people based on personal preference. Either the law applies, or it doesn't; it shouldn't be a matter of convenience.

Not really needed. 👍

Look, let me throw a question your way—you can always get back to me once the football game is over if that's easier...

Who actually got hit harder—Tomo Horvatinčić or that guy who ran onto the field during the Black and Gold Army match? I mean, 105 days in jail... you tell me. No need to explain.

Keith Miller30 said:Of course there are bad actors involved, and I'm certainly not suggesting otherwise. And yes, I will continue to speak broadly about domestic violence, but my intention is to point out that "whistleblowing" can actually be quite useful and contribute to making society better; that is the core of my argument. To me, encouraging anyone to target even two or three more people should feel repulsive and wrong to any decent person. After all, those two or three individuals are someone's children, someone's brothers...

I was following the situation surrounding the Euro, but I didn't come across any comments suggesting that we should go out and hunt down torchbearers or anything of the sort. Let me be clear: I condemn that behavior, just as I condemn anyone who throws a torch and puts the health and safety of others at risk. You'll probably argue that "it's just part of the fan culture" or "nobody got hurt," but that misses the point entirely. Just because no one was injured doesn't mean it's acceptable to jeopardize someone's wellbeing. Though, I have a feeling we aren't ever going to see eye-to-eye on this.

I'm just saying it's insane to harass and punish someone just because they wrote a sentence on Facebook, whereas if they said that same thing in a bar in front of 50 people, nothing would happen.

I'm not going to sit here and explain the whole fan dynamic to you—we don't like you guys, you don't like us, end of story.👍

If something is disgusting and sick, why does that mean I shouldn't point it out or report what someone wrote somewhere to the police?...

Just look at how Jerry Jones publicly told Jovanovic things he shouldn't have, only for the judge to let him off the hookbecause he's not the Dalai Lama that people follow. And this guy isn't the Dalai Lama either; who's actually going to follow his lead and think they need to kill 2 or 3 more people?🐔

Carol Lewis said:Has anyone actually seen someone get screwed over by a bad call during the Euros, only to have people on Reddit acting like it was some kind of brilliant tactical masterstroke...

The law works the same way regardless—if you write to a killer or some rioters from France saying they should be murdered, tortured, or burned alive, you're still asking for trouble.🐔

Look, you find all kinds of people in the stands—absolute bottom-feeders—but honestly? You see the exact same thing within the police force. I’ve had a close friend in law enforcement for years—one of the most honest, decent people I know—and even from them, I've heard stories about everything from shady social circles to colleagues snitching on each other just to climb the ladder. It’s a mess...

Keith Miller30, stop trying to act like you've got some inside scoop on how much the cops love the fans. Personally, I’m just baffled by the way people go on Facebook to throw insults around—it’s wild to me that someone would get punished over some nonsense regarding family domestic issues or some kid being a brat 🙏

You say you haven't seen the comments about the Euro? Either you aren't paying attention at all, or you're just full of it ☕

edit: I actually know a math professor who went through some incredibly rough experiences with the police, and she didn't do a single thing wrong ☕

The world is a funny place, isn't it? ☕

Jeffrey Ruiz3 has completely lost the plot on several different levels here, and he’s basically trying to downplay everything until it doesn't even matter anymore.

Honestly, reading all this makes me wish we hadn't filed those million police reports during the Euro tournament.🐔

Anthony Jackson2 said:If only it worked like that—we’d be thirty times more functional as a nation. Honestly, the lack of actual community and social cohesion is a massive part of why we're stuck in the mess we're in right now.

The big players skip out on all the important stuff while the little guy gets hit with 100% of the rules. You guys aren't stupid—you're adults. You know how the game is played in this backwater town.

There’s this one old saying that’s painfully true... 👍

A true American squeezes the life out of those weaker than him, but bows deeply and offers a warm, two-handed handshake to anyone more powerful.

Keith Miller30 said:It’s funny you bring that up, because I can't help but wonder if being a rat is actually a good look for Jeffrey Ruiz3 in this scenario, especially when there's some serious personal gain involved, don't you think?

It was honestly just naive stupidity—thinking something like that would actually fly in a country like the US. Even with all the evidence in the world, it was his call, and it’s one I’d never make because, well, I'm not an idiot and I know how things work out here.👍

Insulting or belittling someone on Facebook or just generally online is technically actionable, sure. But if I typed out to someone that they could go screw themselves and deserved a punch in the face, would I really be getting reported?

That sounds more like your personal experience where it's just fans who can't stand the cops. I have a huge circle of friends and acquaintances in all sorts of jobs—doctors, cashiers, you name it—and even they can't stand the police, and they aren't even sports fans.

Did you report those people to the police during the Euros—the ones commenting online about setting flare-throwers in France on fire or throwing them in jail for a thousand years?

Seriously, what kind of impulse is that—calling the cops over a few sentences on the internet???

Keith Miller30 said:Jep, saying "maybe they'll realize their mistake and end up behind bars for two or three years" isn't considered inciting, is it? No, apparently that's just being loving. 👍

And I have to disagree with the notion that this kind of behavior is encouraged from childhood in America; if anything, I'd argue the exact opposite is true, given how often harassment and similar issues go completely unreported here, so your argument doesn't really hold water.

Just out of curiosity, purely for my own understanding, are you perhaps some kind of sports fanatic?

He won't be realizing anything because he won't even be able to read in prison...

That's all there is to it. It's all we promote. We have that old saying about wanting the neighbor's cow to drop dead—or better yet, doing everything in your power to steal it. I've seen countless examples where someone will bury you for $33 or even just kill you over something totally minor... people have become spiteful and corrupt, though maybe we've always been this way. ☕

Look, I am a fan, sure. But let me ask you—would you ever want to be a school security guard? Would you cover for your colleagues whenever you could, or would you be a strict follower of the rules? ☕

Nonsense—some things just can't be prevented.

Would any of you actually call the cops over a status update like this??

Keith Miller30 said:Since you're calling him a fake news peddler, I assume you think he's being dishonest? Is it really such a bad thing to be skeptical when someone is out there openly inciting more violence by saying we need "at least 2 or 3" more hits?

My friend, he isn't spreading misinformation; he's just using common sense.

First off, don't go thinking you're my son. 👍

It feels like everything in this country is geared toward one thing from the very start—just getting people to socialize. It doesn't even matter what the excuse is, right? From the time you're a kid, the whole system is basically designed to push you into groups and make sure you're always hanging out with someone.

What this guy wrote is basically just barroom rambling—the kind of nonsense you'd hear at a local pub. Sure, you can get away with talking like that over a beer, but trying to pull that stuff on Facebook? That’s a different story.

Calling people in versus just calling them out—it’s a fine line, isn't it? There's a certain art to actually encouraging someone to do better instead of just pointing fingers. It's easy to be loud and critical, but there's something much more effective about pulling someone aside and inviting them to see things from a different perspective. Why settle for making an enemy when you could actually make progress? 🤣 🤣
