I’m constantly on the hunt for the next smart place to put my money

If someone actually spotted a gap in the market and exploited it, they either already have investors breathing down their neck or they don't need the cash at all. So, what are you really looking for? Someone who "built something" without even realizing how big it actually is? Honestly, I think you need some serious grit and experience just to recognize when that happens. Not to mention, finding that kind of talent in America is a needle in a haystack.

If I were you, I'd go old school—like how people did things in the States fifty years ago: put an ad in the paper. State clearly that you’re an investor, list your budget, and put out a call for business plans. Let the best one win the chance to take your money.

Now that's interesting!

Which paper are you thinking of? Something like the Wall Street Journal, or just a local daily?

And what’s the endgame for the capital? Are you looking for passive growth where the money just works itself? Or are you planning to jump in and scale things up? I mean, do you want to be hands-on or just watch from the sidelines?

Are you leaning toward something with modest returns and a long-term hold, or something with more upside potential—though that obviously comes with a hell of a lot more risk.

I fully intend to be involved. I’ve built an incredibly broad network both here in the States and throughout neighboring countries. Right now, I’m managing two companies that pull in roughly $10 million in annual revenue. They aren't mine, though, so I’m looking for my own shot at building something.

Long-term plays don't scare me; I just have zero interest in wasting my time on opportunities that look like they've already hit their ceiling right out of the gate.

Do you have a specific concept in mind?

Not some abstract, theoretical nonsense, but a real, nagging, everyday headache—the kind of stuff that’s constantly staring you in the face. Once you find that, then you start working on the solution. Don't just sit there waiting for some lightning bolt of genius to strike you out of nowhere. A truly solid idea doesn't just fall into your lap; you have to sweat it out, grind through it, and really chew on it. So, stop looking at the horizon and start looking at what's right in front of you. That's where the real ideas are hiding.

I couldn't agree more. My personal strategy is just to hunt for those specific scenarios where someone has already put in the heavy lifting on the groundwork, but they’re struggling to scale or manage the business alone, making them perfectly primed for an investor to step in.

I’m looking for some guidance or perhaps a solid recommendation here. Basically, I’ve been on the hunt for a smaller firm in the States that’s currently scouting for investors, or maybe one that’s looking to offload all or just a portion of its operations.

Now, I totally get that this kind of intel usually lands in your lap by pure chance—either through some high-level networking or by pinpointing a specific company and reaching out to the owner directly.

But beyond that, are there any other forums, niche boards, or similar circles where someone might actually stumble upon this kind of information?

Goran,

The real headache here is trying to actually get my money out of Bwin. I originally topped up using my Mastercard,
but now they’re insisting that I can only withdraw via bank transfer. To make matters worse, they keep asking me for
some specific "bank code" that my folks over at Bank of America have absolutely no clue about—they're telling me such a thing
doesn't even exist. Meanwhile, nobody at Bwin is even bothering to reply to my emails, and I'm just sitting here with my cash
trapped in their system.
