I just caught the trailer over at www.apple.com and man, it looks absolutely insane. I have zero doubts when it comes to Quentin Tarantino, so I am seriously counting down the days until this hits theaters.👍
I can't speak for the rest of them, but as for Pianist, I honestly have my doubts—I wouldn't be surprised if they were born as far back as 2000.
So, what’s the deal with Gosford Park?
I think it came out back in 2003, right? I’ve actually come close to sitting through the whole thing twice now, but I just couldn't get into it.
The first time I tried watching it, I grabbed it from a local video rental shop and... nothing. Total bust. Then I think I saw it pop up on one of those premium cable channels—maybe HBO or Showtime—but I just wasn't feeling it at the time. Still, if people say it's actually worth the watch, let me know...

Thanks so much, Donna Nelson23!
Honestly, looking back at the last three years, there hasn't been much worth watching, even if he can pull a surprise out of his hat once in a while.
They might not be my absolute favorites, but since my memory is a bit fuzzy on everything else, here are a few solid picks. Was it actually 2001 or 2002? I can't quite remember.
Panic Room
No Man's Land
K-Pax
The Princess and the Warrior
Along Came a Spider
I haven't actually sat down to watch the whole movie yet, but I caught a clip over on Apple's site and honestly? It looks like one of the best things I've seen in a minute.
Regarding what Pauline posted about the setting—there's this one absolute masterpiece that takes place entirely within a single room (a jury room in a courthouse), and man, it is top-tier cinema. I think it's called 12 Angry Men or something like that.
Tarantino might just pull a surprise move with Salma Hayek.
Whenever someone brings up how much better *East being eastern* is compared to *Greek Wedding*, I’m totally on board. That opening scene where they're carrying the cross? Honestly, what a killer way to set the tone.😁
Look, the movie is decent—definitely one of the better recent comedies out there—and it actually has some really solid foundations, even though I wasn't expecting much going in.
But honestly? Everything after that starts feeling pretty dull. I know I shouldn't have set the bar too high, but after those first few minutes, I was really hoping for more, and unfortunately, it just didn't deliver.
At the end of the day, the whole thing feels a bit overhyped and leans way too hard on those tired Mediterranean-American tropes, but hey, it’s passable if you're just looking to kill some time.
Honestly, it’s not even that surprising. The resistance fighters were decked out in Home Guard uniforms, so they had absolutely no clue what was coming—which was exactly the point. They were filming everything from the moment those fascists stepped foot inside, and even though they didn't know how the footage would eventually look, they played it incredibly cool and stayed cautious.
The whole thing went down so fast that by the time the resistance guys could react, they were already being taken out. You have to realize, they couldn't just start spraying bullets everywhere without risking hitting their own people. Maybe some folks think it's a bit of an exaggeration, but I don't think it's much of a stretch at all. WHY NOT?
