Does anyone have a recommendation for a skilled abdominal surgeon specializing in pancreatic surgery?
Thanks in advance...
You're absolutely right, there's no need to always jump to the worst-case scenario. We actually got the results back today, and honestly, everything looks great—all within the normal range. We were really worried about the markers, but back in May, everything was fine. The only thing is that the alpha-fetoprotein went up slightly compared to the first test; it was at 5 before, and today it’s 6.5... though the limit is 7...
Thanks, Anthony. We’re heading in to pick up the results tomorrow or the day after, so I'll post them here once I have them. Honestly, I've been doing a bit of searching online, and some of my symptoms seem to align with Non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL)... Maybe I'm just overthinking things, but...
Checking back in after seven months regarding the same situation. My husband just finished his follow-up exams, and here is where we stand. His gastroscopy and colonoscopy both came back clear. However, the ultrasound showed a 16 mm Lymph node and a 13 mm hypoechoic area in the liver, so he’s been referred for an MRI of the liver and abdomen. We've already scheduled the scan. Up until now, he hasn't had any specific symptoms, but lately, he’s started experiencing intense sweating and a heavy sensation of coldness in his lower legs. We've also run blood work and tumor markers, though we're still waiting on those results. If anyone has more insight into this, I would be so grateful...

Your best bet is to head straight to a dermatologist so they can take a skin biopsy and run some tests to confirm the diagnosis.
It seems like you shouldn't apply anything to your skin for a little while before they take the sample, and even then, getting the results back usually takes about ten days.
So, if you want to cut down on the uncertainty, I’d hurry up and see a specialist.
Honestly, I hope you won't have to "participate" on this forum much longer...
Best regards,
Michael Ramos3, sorry, but does that username have something to do with psoriasis, or was it just a coincidence? It really caught my eye, especially being on this specific forum...
He went to see a rheumatologist because his hands and shoulders have been aching quite a bit. There was some noticeable swelling, though his blood work didn't really point toward anything autoimmune—just an elevated ESR and slightly low hemoglobin. Lately, he's also been dealing with frequent diarrhea, bloating, and some discomfort in his lower abdomen... He doesn't have any other underlying health issues, but taking Voltaren seems to help ease the pain in his arm and shoulder. The rheumatologist ended up referring him to a gastroenterologist for further investigation.
Thanks so much, I read through everything, but it looks like you were talking about a lymph node near the thyroid while I’m actually looking into one in the abdomen... still, thank you, every bit of information means the world to us...
Is a lymph node the same thing as lymphoma?...
Has anyone ever visited the Houston facility in Indianapolis? I’ve heard great things about their psoriasis treatments. I actually just booked an appointment for June 3rd, so I’ll see what the specialists there have to say. I dealt with psoriasis about fifteen years ago and it cleared up completely after some light therapy at Salisbury, but lately, it's started flaring up again on the soles of my feet...
My husband just had an abdominal ultrasound, and they found a small, oval, hypoechoic mass measuring 20x8 mm right in front of his pancreas—it’s likely just a lymph node. His bloodwork showed a slightly elevated sedimentation rate of 40 and a marginally low hemoglobin of 132, though everything else looks normal. He isn't experiencing any pain or other symptoms at all. An immunologist originally referred him for this after he went in for some joint and hand pain, even though those tests came back totally fine. Does anyone know what a lymph node actually is and how it's typically treated?? We haven't been able to find much helpful info online... He has a follow-up scheduled in a month.
