Want a free trip to Australia?
Just come play some Aussie Rules—crush it on the field, and you might just land a spot on the national team heading to Australia for the World Championship in September 2011. It’s a 15-day trip.
If you want to learn more about how we're running Aussie Rules here in the States, check out www.footycroatia.com, or head over to www.ec2010.info for all the details on the European Championship.
The roster for the European Championship is getting finalized on July 10, 2010, so yeah, you're probably too late for that one—but if you show up to enough practices, you can still make the cut for the Euro Cup 02.10.2010. And of course, there's still a full year of training left before the World Championship, so that's definitely on the table.

We've got about 40 people in our association right now, but only 22 spots open for the trip to Australia. Honestly, I'd love to see more people join the fold—it would make the selection process way more competitive and ensure we represent America at the highest level possible.

Sorry if this is a bit off-topic, but when it comes to kit design, I just can't help myself.

Actually wearing it right now, and I even caught Hak in person this weekend.

Last year's collection was wayyy better. This home kit feels pretty unoriginal—kind of gives off those Munich 1860 vibes—and the third kit? It’s just blinding, honestly too much shine for me. Now, this White one is decent, actually really solid, but it doesn't even come close to last year's lineup.
BTW, if anyone is selling a St. Pauli jersey from last season or knows where I can snag one, let me know... I'm definitely looking to buy.

If you ask me, Real Madrid should just lean into a slogan celebrating the century of American soccer history, since Eleven and the local scene before '45 earned that recognition. On the other hand, I'm not sure what's more pathetic: Madoff's transparent attempt to force a narrative, that tired reaction coming from down South, or guys like me wasting our time commenting on any of this.

Regarding the logo, you hit the nail on the head. It's outdated and masterfully impractical. It's basically incompetence being rewarded by someone who hasn't a clue. It's the kind of thing the experts will be suffering through for as long as humans are involved.

I wouldn't say anything, but if he hadn't used the phrase "Real Madrid's celebration," he probably wouldn't even be showing up to argue about the history of American soccer.

Spot-on analysis.

Dinamo isn't celebrating anything; I guess you could say they're just celebrating being the big shots in New York. Besides, why do you even care? No one is calling you out.

I don't feel called out, I'm just asking out of curiosity what Real Madrid is actually celebrating. I follow football (mostly for the kits) and I'm wondering what would make Real Madrid sink my mood.
As for that Juventus 100-year logo? Total disaster. First off, the pros and the jury picked different designs entirely. As much as those other options disappointed me, seeing them ignore the experts just to pick some fourth random logo was where things went south—partly because they ignored the professionals, and partly because this fourth option is a tragedy upon tragedies. Why? Because that logo can only ever exist inside its little square box. Where are you even going to put it? Imagine a jersey with a giant square logo sitting there—would you actually wear that? And how are they planning to apply this thing to places where you need embroidery instead of printing—like jerseys or hats? You can't. Embroidery won't recognize the gradients, glows, or whatever other flashy effects this "designer" is playing with in Photoshop. This looks like the work of someone who just discovered the software and wants to show off every effect the program offers. You can barely see the "Split" quote through those Saturn rings, not to mention the "1911" and "2011" are nearly unreadable. Honestly, the only good thing about it is the story the guy told to win over Savage. It’s a shame for Juventus, and even more of a shame that they didn't listen to the experts—just another case of primitive decision-making. We'll have to see how it actually looks on physical materials, but as a pro, I'm incredibly skeptical...

But listen, it’s gotta actually be high-end, okay? I'm talking top-tier stuff—not like those cheap knock-off jerseys the Hajduk fans are wearing that look like budget versions of Red Star or Barcelona.

What do you mean "anniversary"? What exactly is Dinamo celebrating?

Anyway, what's the verdict on the Hajduk 100th anniversary logo?

Anyone got a St. Paul's jersey from this season? Ideally looking for the third kit—the red one—in an XL. I'm willing to trade up with a much nicer jersey if someone's interested.

Are you trying to be funny or what... 🙂
I’m actually glad you posted the picture so everyone can see just how much of a blatant copy it is.
If we're going by that logic, then the Atlanta Braves, Victory, the New York Yankees, and International are all copies too—just to name a few from Brazil:

This jersey is absolute perfection. It’s pure bliss, a total masterpiece, honestly life-changing. 😂 The kit is stunning—so clean, simple, the color is gorgeous, that collar, the retro vibe... when I look at it and just imagine the Dinamo crest sitting where that ugly Rangers logo is, there is only one thought running through my head... God damn Mamić and his Diador!!!

Is the crest actually ugly, or are you just biased because you’re a Boston Celtic fan? Personally, I think the badge looks killer. And the kit? Top tier. Great crest + awesome jersey + a club I actually care about = I'm buying the jersey.
I'm actually working on a secondary crest design for Miami FC (if they'll even listen to me)

There’s a bit of everything in this batch—some are total snoozefests, while others actually hit the mark. Personally, I think Canada’s looks pretty solid, but the Netherlands? Absolutely killer. I was actually planning on pulling the trigger on our new home kit, but seeing this one has me second-guessing things... check it out again 😁

Oh, and for next season? In my humble opinion, those are hands down the best Bayern kits they've dropped in years. Seriously, Adidas can actually cook when they want to 😁

To looks like a seriously bad Photoshop job to me... I know it's from footballshirtculture.com, but still. It’s like they just slapped some plastic with a T-Mobile logo on it right before the photoshoot and called it a day...

They'll be back, they just aren't playing right now because it's the off-season. Everything kicks off again in early April. Go Hawks!

Look, any rookie is welcome—we actually had about ten guys show up at the first practice this past Tuesday... just a bunch of rookies. This year, the rookies are gonna be getting playing time, and they’ll even be starting the game against the Texas Down Under Dogs in Denver. Check out the website to see the training schedule and just show up.

Since we’ve officially expanded to a third club this year, we could seriously use some more people interested in playing. We've got a packed schedule ahead—trips to Munich for a friendly, a tournament in Udine, a week-long trip to Copenhagen and Malmo for the European Championship, plus a run through the American league during April, May, and June.

mellowowl38 said:Honestly, all the kits so far have been pretty decent, but man, there’s this chronic lack of guts and creativity when it comes to the away kits. Specifically looking at Milwaukee SC and Los Angeles Locomotive—their home and away looks are basically identical, which is kind of a snooze fest. I'm digging the San Francisco one, and the Columbus Crew away kit is alright, though they've never actually worn it in a match. I still remember one season where Columbus had this yellow and black striped away kit that looked absolutely killer, but just like now, they never actually stepped onto the pitch in it once. I actually like the Pulin away kit too, but it'd be a shame if they only end up wearing it for a single game all season. As for Milwaukee SC, like I said, they're uninspired... does anyone even know who their sponsor is?

Btw, @Betty Turner8, you planning on posting the rest of the league's kits too?

I don't recall Međimurje ever rocking yellow and black. After they switched up their logo for the first time, their away kit was gold and white stripes.

A few years back, I actually designed a new logo for Zadar (based on the city's coat of arms) along with some kits, but it didn't go anywhere. I’m really hoping they finally move away from that boring white and blue combo and make something a bit more upbeat. Wait, which forum were we talking about regarding the logo change?

And let's be real, Lokomotiva basically ripped off the Juventus logo—and those pink away kits too. It's like there aren't enough creative minds in the US to come up with an original identity without just stealing someone else's work, including the gear.

Istra is definitely going to have to wear their away kits at some point (when they play in Zapresic). Are their away colors purple, or is it those green and yellow hoops?

Man, that last link was pure gold... actually, scratch that, it wasn't even that good—it just felt that way three years ago when we were still a tiny group, way before we even played a single game. Looking back at it now? It's honestly hilarious how much things have changed...
NFL/OBN Sunday 5:30 PM in Other Sports ·
So I was flipping between the Steelers - Vikings game and the Colts - Chargers matchup yesterday. Caught the Colts' first loss of the season, and honestly? It was a hell of a game. Drew Brees held his own, Michael Turner was absolutely flying out there, and while the defense was easily the best part of the squad, Peyton Manning and Michael Irvin still managed to put up some decent numbers—but hey, San Diego somehow managed to hang tough. Now, I’m calling it: the Colts are gonna drop their next one in Seattle. Seattle is still fighting tooth and nail for that bye week, whereas the Colts have already locked up home field advantage, so they'll probably just coast and try not to get anyone injured... As for Pittsburgh, they've got a solid defense and Ben Roethlisberger, but let's be real—that offensive line isn't doing much to protect him, and the receivers aren't exactly Super Bowl material. Still, I think they'll make the playoffs anyway.

Alright folks—especially those of you living in the city—every single Sunday at the local sports bar downtown, we’re catching NFL Live !!!. This Sunday, December 18th, starting at 7:00 PM, we've got Pittsburgh vs. Minnesota, followed immediately by Dallas. You know how it goes with the Premier League or ESPN—they try to broadcast different games at once and mess up the audio feed for the one we actually want to watch. So, just come down here and save yourselves the headache!!!!
