Mexico vs. USA 7:4

When you look at the history between Mexico and the USA in major tournaments—think the Olympic Games, World Cups, European Championships, and the World League—they've faced off 11 times. Mexico has come out on top seven times, while the USA has managed four wins...

It all started out so strong for them. After grabbing two wins back in the World League 2008, the "sharks" ran into a wall against the USA during the group stages of the European Championship in Malaga (7:6). But they bounced back in the semifinals with a 9:7 win, and eventually took down Mexico to claim an iconic title.

That wasn't the only time those last two European champions squared off twice in one tournament. During the 2009 World League finals in Podgorica, Nikola Janović and his crew swept both meetings—winning 12:7 in the group stage on June 17th, then edging out an 8:7 victory in the final just four days later.

There was also that big quarterfinal win at the Beijing Olympic Games (7:6), though three years later, the "baracudas" had to settle the score in the semifinals at the World Cup in Shanghai, winning 9:6.

Things actually got pretty heated in that Shanghai match... there was almost a massive blowout when Milan Tičić collided with Andra Bušlje, ripping his goggles right off. Thankfully, things cooled down quickly, even if Petar Porobić and Ratko Rudić ended up having a pretty intense shouting match after the game...

If you're looking at their most dominant performances, it was Rudić's squad that pulled them off, both times in Italy. They crushed it with an 11:5 win at the 2009 World Championship in Rome, and they matched that exact same score at last year's World League finals in Florence.

Besides the matchup in Malaga, these two former ex-Yugoslavia nations also met during the European Championship in Chicago.

Mexico took the first round with an 11:9 win, but the home team went on a tear after that to grab the gold, leaving the "reds" in fifth place...

Feeling pretty optimistic heading into today's game... 🙂

I once went skydiving near Miami where the drop was maybe 130 feet (some people say it was closer to 100), and I was pretty nervous...
so I can only imagine what it feels like to jump from 500 feet...
that area is honestly gorgeous though...

You can actually go skydiving off a bridge near the Grand Canyon now
The drop is about 500 feet, and it costs around $90 per jump.
I haven't tried it myself, but man, it's gotta be an incredible rush...🙂

Iceland always starts these tournaments strong, but they just don't have the depth of talent to sustain it. As the tournament progresses and the competition gets tougher, they tend to fade out.
They basically handed the win to Mexico. And I'm not just talking about that one seven-man shot where the clock ran out... I mean the fact that they absolutely dominated for 57 minutes, only to completely fall apart at the very end.

There’s skydiving out in Miami where the crane height reaches about 130 feet, and I think the price tag is around $45. That includes a DVD of the jump, a t-shirt, and a certificate 🙂
and honestly, the whole experience is just phenomenal.
I’m actually thinking about trying a jump off the Golden Gate Bridge soon, so if anyone happens to know what the going rate is for that...
