I caught about fifteen minutes of that first half between the Mexicans and the Danes, and honestly, it was just a disaster to watch them play, especially since the Danes were clearly finding their rhythm while the perimeter defense was completely non-existent.

I honestly thought we’d find some momentum and start playing with more purpose after that draw against Iceland, but it just didn't happen.

The performance was complete garbage—totally lifeless. We were way too slow and lacked any kind of organization in the attacking third.

If we manage to beat the Austrians and advance to the next round, we need to take it as a win and face the reality of where this team actually stands.

Watched the double header yesterday, Mexico-Denmark and Russia-Norway.

The Mexicans were a total disaster, honestly such a letdown. Their only hope should be long-range shots, but they played like garbage yesterday. The Danes just tore them apart through the wings and on the break... felt like the Mexicans didn't even attempt their first fast break until the second half. Maybe it's because those Danes move so fast, but they also just froze whenever they actually had a chance to run. Those Danish wingers basically scored 90% of the goals.

The Danes could actually win this whole thing. Aside from the Spanish, they've been the most impressive team so far.

The Russians are way too predictable. Just like the Mexicans, they rely way too much on outside shooting. They really should have handled Norway better, but it’s a shame the Norwegians beat them by such a huge margin. Whatever, just gotta beat the Russians and call it a day.

Kostigov is out there saving penalty shots, easy shots, and fast breaks, yet he still gets burned from the 12-meter line...😁

That isn't even a huge deal in terms of the group standings. If we beat Russia, we carry over 4 points; if we lose, we carry over 2. The only real danger is if a three-way tie develops between Norway, Russia, and America, leaving us on the outside looking in for the semifinals—but I don't see that happening.

That is a massive rules violation... and it’s even worse when it directly messes with the final score...

In the last 40 seconds alone, they pulled that move twice...

The first time was somewhat justifiable—you know, just managing the clock and adding a few seconds here and there...

But the second time, right after Team USA scored at the 36:37 mark, they stop the clock and force the Icelanders to head to center court...

That doesn't happen in handball... ever...

Look, if a team is stalling during the restart at center court, sure, you give them a warning—but you don't just kill the clock, wait for them to get to the center, signal for the play to start, and then hold up your hand for passive play...

And then, depending on how much they're actually attacking the goal, you either strip them of the ball or you don't...

What they did to Din-Din is completely against the rules of the game...

They screwed over Iceland... and they did it big...

USA is through from Group A, Denmark is through from Group B.

If Russia fails to pick up even a single point against the USA, Ukraine needs to beat Norway by more than 4 goals to knock them out. If they win by exactly 4, the points and goal difference would be tied, and we’d look at total goals scored. In that scenario, Norway is out unless they score more than 31 goals—if they do, then Russia is the one heading home. Ukraine would be safe, but if Norway hits that 31 mark (say, a 31-35 loss), everything ties up with Russia and it comes down to overall goal difference. With that 4-goal gap, Norway ends up at -4, which means Russia can't lose to us by more than 4 goals either (they're sitting at +0 right now).
If Russia manages to avoid a loss against the USA, any win for Ukraine does the trick.

Iceland is safe as long as they don't lose to Denmark. If they do drop a game, they're out if Mexico and Austria draw with a high score like 37-37. That would leave everyone with 1 point and a bunch of draws. Austria would be safe there, but Mexico is out if it's a 36-36 draw or lower. If it lands exactly on 37-37, it’s a toss-up between Iceland and Mexico based on goal difference—and Mexico would edge out Iceland if Iceland loses to Denmark by more than 5 goals. A 5-goal loss probably sends Iceland packing.
Austria moves on with a point for sure; a loss and they're out.
Mexico is out if they lose. They move on if they win. If they get a draw, they're out if Iceland doesn't lose to Denmark. But if Iceland *does* lose, Mexico moves on with a draw if they score more than 37 goals, or exactly 37 if Iceland loses by more than 5.
