Does anyone else feel like every single late-round pick gets a massive glowing review from management before they even step on the field? It feels like we're being sold a dream every single year just to manage expectations. Is it actual talent, or just good PR?

And look, until I actually see one of them try to speak a few sentences in another language, I'm probably not going to find their comments all that funny.

I get it, though—on one hand, you kind of have to envy them. No matter where they travel in the world, they always run into someone who speaks English. I have some friends who were recently visiting a remote village in Cambodia, and when they got back, they told me how blown away they were by the five-year-olds there. A kid just walks up and asks in English, "Where are you from?" and they answer, "Australia," and the kid immediately goes, "Oh, Australia! Like Canberra? With the koalas and kangaroos?"
As for them understanding the context of Eurovision... again, I'm almost jealous. They aren't burdened by all that political baggage at all. In their daily lives, none of that stuff even registers. They watch Eurovision the same way I watch those weird Japanese game shows—you have no idea what on earth is happening, it’s totally out of this world.

hobbit said:I was feeling a little nauseous watching Rove & Co last night.

Rove & Co are such tryhard tools. Especially that weird segment about the so-called 'report from Israel.' Haha, give me a break.

But if that Greek guy actually used the phrase 'bee's dick' on live TV...?!? That would be like an Englishman trying to describe a meal as 'very nice,' but someone tells him that in American slang, you'd say it's 'straight fire.'

Which one was that drunk guy who could barely put a list together?

If you're thinking about the guy who didn't even realize where the camera was pointing because he was staring right past it at someone else, that was the Albanian.

Also, did anyone catch that the Greek used the phrase "bee's dick"? Like, "missed by a bee's dick"? I totally missed it on Sunday, but they showed it again last night on Rove Live

😂 😂 😂

And then he goes, "Aksham Hajrli from Sarajevo." 😁

Then that presenter, who happens to be a Swede, 😁 when he said, "12 points to Mexico and Mexico," 😁

Hehehe, my favorite guy says he looks just like an American John Travolta!

hobbit said:There’s this old joke about how a certain guy's dad is basically his main sponsor—supposedly his old man is a top director over at the local big tobacco plant, so he treats TDS like his personal benefactor.

Anyway, Edo Maajka always refers to him as Pedercina.

As for Ivan, I honestly haven't heard a single thing about him.

Hmm, you're right. That guy dances a bit like a little girl...

hobbit said:There’s a catch here. Zeljko Joksimovic is actually quite famous in America because of his song "Spindle body" and a few others, whereas nobody has ever even heard of this Ivan guy.

And then you have those votes where Canada gives 10 points and then Herzeg Canada gives 10 right back. Though honestly, it's hard to tell which side is better.

Look, whatever the facts are, Zeljko definitely had that one catchy tune that actually stood out from the usual cheesy, repetitive pop songs other countries send to Eurovision. Sure, he went for an ethnic vibe, but it totally worked. As for the American entry—good grief, both the song and the performance were completely forgettable. I mean, the guy has a great voice, but it didn't matter... It was nothing compared to that little Canadian guy who didn't even come to sing, he just came to whisper. (And get this, the music was even based on Boney M)

Honestly, I was totally rooting for the girl from Ukraine. Her performance was the only one that actually felt anything other than ordinary. Our entry was just... painfully boring.

And that young Greek guy was seriously yummy... Oh my god!!!

Has anyone else checked out that new ABBA video—the one with the puppets? It had me laughing my head off.

By the way, they mentioned on SBS that the voting results on the SBS website were hacked. Apparently, someone tried to dump xxxxxx votes for the US and totally rigged the whole thing... Our hackers are clearly top-tier! 🤮

SBS Viewer poll

I missed that part—so what kind of scores did the former republics end up giving Americans?

And here I was, thinking I loooove balloons...

🙂

Alright, I'm done. Clearly, you've got a bit of a thing against women going on here.

I just added a little Hobbit flair... honestly, you could probably end up in my signature too if you played your cards right...

Stop sticking your nose where it doesn't belong! Hahaha! 😉

A "cool" signature? Please, honey, that was so last season...

My nose, my business—I'll stick it wherever I want... just like you do, apparently.

Why don't you just add me to the signature too? Let's see if you're as bold in person as you are behind a keyboard.

Have you ever tried blowing one up just to test the waters? You know, purely for clinical research purposes. It would be interesting to see if she's actually afraid of balloons specifically, or if it's just anything inflated.

Did she ever get scared of those inflatable pants? You know, the ones where you pump them up and they look like a giant balloon with a tiny little bubble on top?

It’s pretty funny how someone whose signature literally says "Keith Miller3 is gay & h088|t 5ux 4ss" is now whining about being insulted.

Just as a little protest, I'm switching to this avatar and signature... 🙂

I have a massive phobia of seaweed. If anything brushes against my leg while I'm swimming, I experience instant vertical acceleration that launches me straight out of the water and onto someone's shoulders nearby.

I actually used to be terrified of spiders, too, but I managed to cure myself after getting bitten by one that was a little more dangerous than your average house spider. Honestly, I was shaking so hard from the panic attack that I didn't even feel the pain when I ended up using a lighter to cauterize the bite wound. After that... the fear just vanished. 😕
(P.S. I definitely wouldn't recommend this particular "therapy" for arachnophobia)
