How to speed up my PC? in Software ·
Well, I used to have them... but my ex-boyfriend uninstalled everything from my computer...

Is it possible to just download them online?

I have finished applying all the settings exactly as they were outlined here...

Despite everything I’ve tried, I will admit that the computer feels faster, but the audio issues are still causing significant trouble. 😢

I am truly grateful to all of you; I honestly don't know where I would be without your help.

Internet Explorer and svchost.exe seem to be consuming the bulk of my memory usage... I'm not entirely sure what their specific roles are in this process.

E_S4I0T1 That sounds quite intense. I was advised not to move at all after my procedure, but now I am feeling a bit unsteady... what would be the best course of action here?

Windows XP Professional was installed a few years ago, perhaps slightly less than that. Why is this happening?

I suspect that outcome is unlikely 🙂

I have one more question...
Could someone clarify what these processes are:

Should I just deselect everything? I am honestly unsure what this setting actually does, and I would hate to uncheck something only to end up breaking the system...

Hmm... how should I go about that?😕 I currently use Norton, but should I run an additional scan on top of that? It stays active constantly, and every morning when I boot up my computer, it performs its initial scan and updates automatically.

I have removed all unnecessary programs, defragmented the hard drive, and attempted to use the msconfig tool (though I am not entirely certain if I executed those steps correctly, as I was a bit confused about which options to select after clicking)
"start
run
msconfig
startup"
How do I disable them??😳

There has been a slight improvement in speed, but it still isn't performing quite like it used to...😎

Thank you all so much for the assistance!

I am reaching out because my computer has slowed down significantly over the last two weeks. It takes an eternity just to boot up the system, and I can no longer enjoy listening to music because the audio sounds distorted, almost like a skipping record. 😠

Could this be caused by the large amount of music I have saved? Even though I still have over 60% of my disk space available, I am unsure if that matters. Regarding software, the only program I recently installed was Neo, but I have since uninstalled it.

Does anyone have any advice on how I might resolve this issue?

It might be helpful to browse through the existing threads before starting a new one, especially when there are already extensive treatises written on the subject. 🙂

I just mean, CHILL out!!! I got a bit carried away and didn't manage to review everything first... My apologies for what I said.👎
Birth control pills: Questions for the pros in Women's Health ·
I am curious if anyone has information regarding whether birth control pills—specifically Trinovum-mog—can have adverse health effects. I am particularly concerned about whether they might impact my future fertility, as I have been taking them for just over a year now.
Has anyone had any personal experience with this?
Nail extraction procedure in Health ·
A few years ago, I dealt with similar issues on my left big toe. My doctor recommended having the nail partially removed, which was an absolutely harrowing experience 😱 . At just sixteen years old, the pain was overwhelming; I had bandages the size of two large athletic wraps, and blood was even soaking through them. When I returned the next day for a dressing change, the moment the doctor began removing the gauze near the wound, I let out a genuine scream because the pain was so intense🙂 🙂 To be fair, the procedure worked. Once I recovered, a new nail grew in, and everything returned to normal 🎉
HOWEVER, I am now facing the exact same situation on my other foot, and I am terrified to go in because I know exactly how much it hurts... 😢
