Tips for quitting smoking! in Health ·
15 days👍

Last year, I actually managed to pull off about three months... maybe even longer, if I'm being honest... but then I had to focus on my high school graduation exams, so I ended up starting all over again once that was out of the way.

I've been dealing with this constant coughing and congestion for the last two weeks—just hacking up phlegm from deep in my lungs constantly. To make matters worse, my hearing has taken a hit over the past few days; it feels like I’ve got water stuck in my ears. Some days it's just one side, but today both feel completely muffled. What should I do? I haven't bothered heading to the doctor yet since I don't have a fever, and honestly, with flu season hitting everyone right now, the wait times at the clinic are ridiculous—I'd probably just end up catching whatever the flu is currently circulating in the waiting room anyway.🙄

I’m inclined to agree that this fits the vibe—at least to some degree:

The last time I lit up was April 23rd—man...😉
That was about a month ago; I had one single cigarette because my friends talked me into it, but honestly, it wasn't even a big deal... just a mindless thing... I didn't even take many deep drags...
Since my graduation is coming up in about a month, I expect I might end up lighting one there. But I can promise myself I won't let it spiral back into heavy smoking again. I mean, look—previously I was only having a few cigarettes a day, except for the weekends when I’d go through at least half a pack.

Has anyone stumbled upon some Pixies photos online lately?

Look, Laški is top-tier beer... don't disrespect it like that!
but honestly, that Canadian stuff is total garbage.🙂

Seriously? Not a single cop in sight. The only law enforcement we had was some parking attendant who spent his whole shift barking at us because we couldn't pull the van up right by the entrance.😁

By the way, does anyone happen to have an actual headcount—or even just a ballpark figure—on how many people actually showed up to the concert yesterday?

Look, I’ll be the first to admit that I don't know them that well—I haven't exactly spent my life spinning their records, and since I'm only 17, I haven't had the chance to see what they actually bring to a stage. So, frankly, I can't speak to their live energy. That said, the only thing I found even remotely annoying was that brief lull in the set—that little gap where things just stalled. But honestly? That's such a minor gripe when everything else about the performance felt like a massive win.😁 Don't get me wrong—I actually thought the concert was brilliant.

Absolutely brilliant!!! I had an incredible time. Shout out to all the New Yorkers, even some of the folks from Chicago, and of course, my huge crew from Philly who showed up in massive numbers.😛 😉
So, did anyone actually get a chance to meet Scott Disick from R.E.M.? 😁 Everyone in my circle met him except for me, since I don't really know him personally. What a bummer.🙄
Oh, and another thing... I wasn't a huge fan of the drumming. It felt a bit too quiet, if you ask me. But overall, it was fantastic. Though, damn George Washington—you really trip over the stairs when you're jumping around like that.😁
Robin Booth mentioned it felt like they were just there to collect a paycheck... and honestly, I felt the same way. I don't know... it just seemed like they were rushing through the setlist as fast as possible because the gaps between songs were practically non-existent—just a few seconds here and there. There wasn't really any of that stage presence where the band builds up the crowd. But hey, it was fine... truly, I enjoyed it... especially seeing how many Americans turned out.
Does anyone have any idea how packed that place was?!

FOR HEAVEN'S SAKE....In the USA (probably because of the UN regulations), they don't sell beer on the highway rest stops between 9 PM and 6 AM. 😠
I'm pretty sure I wasn't the only one caught off guard by that.
It definitely ate into the budget we had set aside for stocking up at the gas station.
Anyway, I was traveling with an awesome group—everyone about ten years older than me—cruising in a van like a bunch of hippies... haha. On the drive back, we were beltng out all those classic rock anthems like Runaway and stuff... hehe.

rowdypuma21 said:Exactly. I wonder if they’re planning a return trip to the States anytime soon—they were just out in a small town in the Midwest recently, but will they make it to Washington, D.C.?

I couldn't say... though I'd imagine they'll be back before we know it.

I’ve always been a huge fan of Six pack—honestly, they’re easily the best band in the entire country.
Word is they’re currently working on a brand-new album.
