What's the best Grunge song?

So, I’m thinking this thread is meant for the more niche corner of the forum... maybe I've got that wrong?

Please, I want to hear what you all think!

Basically, we're talking about bands like: Mother Love Bone, Mad Season, Soundgarden, Pearl Jam, Alice in Chains, Nirvana, Bush, Blind Melon, Smashing Pumpkins, Stone Temple Pilots, Temple of the Dog, and Audioslave (to an extent)... honestly, my apologies if I missed anyone!😛

Here are my top 5 favorites (I’d pick 50 if I could, but let's keep it simple!):

1. Alice in Chains - Nutshell
2. Pearl Jam - Black
3. Temple of the Dog - say Hello 2 Heaven
4. Pearl Jam - Yellow Ledbetter
5. Blind Melon - Change

They're all pretty mellow... they aren't exactly heavy hitters, right? Anyway, catch ya later! 😛

I know I haven't included everything! I decided to stick with the more iconic bands for this list, which is exactly why I mentioned that you should let me know if I missed anything important!

So, here’s how I see it... if we’re splitting Grunge into two camps—the "glam" crowd versus the hard rockers (ugh, please!) and the alternative/punk side—you’re seriously missing out on the latter group, but what you're lacking most is...

Mudhoney

Yeah... Mudhoney, Afghan Whigs, Screaming Trees above all else, some decent heavy hitters 😁, then TAD, damn 😠, those are all just pussies compared to what you listed, except for Nirvana. And The Posies were huge too.
And everything mentioned above is just MTV pop 😁

As for the best song... people always claim "Freak Scene" by Dinosaur Jr. is the grunge anthem for some reason, but for me it's

1. Mad Season - Wake up (honestly the best... Layne Staley and Mike McCready just absolutely crush it here)
2. Pearl Jam - Yellow Ledbetter (I love that bit in 'Lost Dogs' where McCready mentions the band was playing some melody and Eddie just improvised those lyrics on the fly—it’s still a mystery what they're actually about, but the crowd loves it regardless)

2) Pearl Jam: State of Love and Trust (I believe it appeared in that '92 film "Singles")
3) Alice in Chains: Would (honestly, I feel as though it hardly requires any commentary at all)
4) Nirvana: Serve the Servants
5) Pearl Jam: Alive
6) Nirvana: Aneurysm
7) Nirvana: Frances Farmer Will Have Her Revenge on Seattle
8) Soundgarden: Black Hole Sun
9) Soundgarden: Spoonman
10) Mudhoney: Overblown
11) Smashing Pumpkins: Drown
12) Smashing Pumpkins: Disarm
