for my taste. Anyway, what’s your bike actually worth?

About fifteen hundred bucks

quietpilot87 said:My bike isn't exactly a magnet for thieves. Sure, it cost me about $500, but it’s covered in these wild, psychedelic shades of red, blue, and magenta, so I don't think it looks particularly high-end to anyone passing by.
I spend a ton of time riding all over the city, especially downtown. I've locked it up everywhere you can imagine, and honestly, I've gotten into more than one argument over it (Times Square is my favorite spot to park 😁), and there have even been times when I completely forgot my lock and just left it sitting there! But somehow, miraculously, nothing has ever happened.

On the flip side, a buddy of mine had his bike stolen—and it was fully secured—right in the hallway of his parents' place in the middle of the city. When someone actually sets their sights on your ride, there's really nothing you can do to stop them.

Ugh, tell me about it... One day, some jerk stole my seat right in front of a shopping mall. I’d spent maybe half an hour locking everything up, and then I'm standing there staring at the empty space where my seat used to be, thinking... well, by that logic, they might as well have taken the handlebars, the wheels, and the chain too, since everything comes apart so easily! They could just leave the frame behind and call it a day. It was so obvious that some total idiot was just doing his "job." But hey, I'm trying to stay positive... what goes around comes around, right? Besides, I was already planning on upgrading to a more comfortable seat anyway. So, looking on the bright side, I actually came out ahead!
I definitely don't leave it unattended anymore...

Now I see what you mean about riding on the road... I'll try out that new route 😁 as soon as the weather clears up (they said rain was coming this evening, so I didn't bring the bike today). It'll be a nice little change of pace if nothing else 😉
thanks 👍

It’s not confusing at all; I’ve got the whole thing figured out. 🙂
I'm just a little worried about that specific stretch on the road. You know, is it actually dangerous, and how long does it usually last?

So, are you saying that route is better than taking Main Avenue, then cutting over to Industrial Way, and hitting those Vukovar-style streets? How long did it take you to get out to the Industrial District?
Thanks 👍

Ugh, man, this bike is absolutely incredible! 👍
I was doing some math earlier, and I’ve got 9.3 miles on my commute... It’s actually not a bad ride at all 🙂

@taylorswift: I haven't had a chance to try out that route you mentioned yet. I really need to pull up the map and see exactly how you planned it out... but hey, thanks for the tip regardless! 🙂

Oh my god, finally! I was seriously losing my mind... it showed up this morning... thank goodness it's here.😍
This is definitely a new record... a 39-day cycle.😲

I'm still sitting here waiting on mine... huh...

Seriously, 19 days?? 😲

I think I’d actually lose my mind waiting this long...

Thanks for saying that, I really hope you're right... because so far, I've still got nothing. 😢

I didn't post this in the "Am I Pregnant?" thread because I actually took a test the day before yesterday (I just decided right then and there, I couldn't deal with the anxiety) and I'm not... though honestly, given how brutal this summer heat has been, it could have gone either way 😍

But look, my cycle is usually as predictable as clockwork... 26 days. Though, I did stop taking birth control about four months ago, so things have shifted slightly to around 27 or 28 days.

Now, I know life isn't always sunshine and rainbows and things don't always go perfectly, and suddenly my period is late. And I mean *solidly* late—today is day 33 and still nothing. I should probably mention that around day 12, I had some kind of spotting for a few days (ugh, how gross does that sound? Is there a more polite way to say that?) It was like a tiny amount of blood, but definitely wasn't a full period since it was so light. I've seriously never, ever had mid-cycle bleeding before.

I've been doing a little reading on the forums, and it was actually news to me that changes in climate or moving around can mess with your cycle. And get this: right after my last period ended, I got back from a month-long trip to the coast, and then I traveled to the Mediterranean Coast twice more this month while heading back and forth.

Gosh, this is such a long post! Just please tell me everything is fine? Tell me it's just the weather or something similar? I really need to know I shouldn't be panicking, that this isn't anything serious, and that I can just wait calmly for my routine checkup with my OBGYN, which is already scheduled for three weeks from now.

Could that mid-cycle spotting have pushed back my actual period? And why on earth would that spotting even happen in the first place?

Anyway, thanks 😍

I've been scrolling through all your photos, and man, there are some seriously impressive physiques out there right now! I can see 😍
Anyway, I figured I'd just throw my own progress into the mix, just so I feel like part of the crew here. 🙂

Oh my gosh, why does everything have to become such a huge issue? It never even crossed my mind that having those dimples could be seen as a bad thing... not because I’m trying to defend them—I have them too ( 😁 )—but just because it feels so incredibly normal to me! Honestly, I was actually feeling pretty happy when they started showing up again after I gained a few pounds...

Personally, I think they're great 😍

Honestly, things were going great when I woke up at 7:00 AM this morning 😁
But now, here I am, still stuck at the office sitting in the AC even though my shift is basically over... I just can't bring myself to face that heat outside! 🙂

I took the bus yesterday and let me tell you, there was absolutely no way... In this kind of heat, being packed in there with a bunch of people? Ugh, it was way too hot.

I hadn't really given much thought to the highway situation... I’m usually driving from Philly over to the outskirts of Jersey, and honestly, I spend the entire trip just crawling alongside other cars. It takes me about 40 minutes every single time.
No matter which route I pick, I always end up stuck right next to a sea of vehicles. So, it makes me wonder—does it actually make a difference if you're driving alongside four lanes of traffic versus just two? The path I take right now is definitely the shortest distance, but still...

Man, what a great topic for some motivation 👍

So, I finally picked up a bike pump and some chain lube today, and I’m actually planning to ride to work tomorrow! It’s about a 10-mile trek

So, where on earth are you guys keeping your bikes? I’m totally prepared to lug around extra wipes, a spare shirt, and everything else to deal with the sweat, but honestly, I’m terrified to lock my bike up outside. It feels like everyone is out there cutting chains lately...
It’s not some high-end carbon racer—I only dropped about a thousand bucks on it—but it looks nice enough, and I really don't want to be left without it.
I mean, seriously, if my friends can manage to swipe a "Schwinn" right out of a Peavey store for $100 even when it was chained to a post...

placidpanther12 said:I personally don't have an issue with having sex during my period, but it’s usually around day four or five, right when things are winding down. Everything goes smoothly—I just pop the tampon out right before we get intimate so my partner doesn't even see any blood...

That’s actually how we handle it if it’s really necessary 🤣 Basically, once it's almost over, I'll either take the tampon out right then or we'll just hop in the shower together from the very start...

Honestly though, you should probably try to avoid sex during your period altogether. Like so many people have pointed out, that's the body's "cleansing" phase, and there's also a much higher risk of infections because everything is more sensitive down there—that's what my doctor told me.

And man, I totally feel for these girls who are absolutely terrified that they might be pregnant. Good grief, I spent so much time obsessing over my cycle, wondering when it would show up, if it would come at all... It’s all because sperm can easily survive for up to five days, so you could technically conceive even if he doesn't finish inside you. So that period you're so desperately waiting for? It might arrive even if you're already pregnant... Plus, those "fertile windows" are never 100% certain anyway. Ugh, thank goodness I made it through that anxiety. 🙂
The result? Five years with the same guy and still not pregnant. 🙂
The solution? Birth control pills. They were a total game-changer for us. 😍
