Dumpster fire? Man, this series is actually closer to the original movies than that 2013 reboot ever was. I honestly don't get why people hyped that one up so much—it was just mediocre. And looking at this trailer, there’s still a lot of generic stuff going on.

Nah, you're wrong there. I'm positive there are millions of cases where all sorts of guys have wrecked marriages, including types like Hoffman who give off that innocent vibe to women. Some women fall for it—these guys aren't out here acting like Brando; they just radiate insecurity instead.
Look, you guys gotta realize this movie is pure fiction. It’s based on a book where the author explicitly says it's not an autobiography—it's just fiction. Yet, I see people on this thread getting all worked up about how Marilyn Monroe actually was, when the whole film is basically made up. If you want to be mad at the movie, fine, but some of you are acting like this is some factual documentary. This thing is an extreme exaggeration.
That's exactly my point. And let's be real, Marilyn Monroe had that sex appeal, too—she wasn't actually dumb like people claim just because of the roles she took. Plus, she was an icon. One of those people you’d look for first when walking into a crowded party. She had everything, so it makes total sense why she’s still such a massive legend today. Was she one of the greatest actresses ever? Nah. Nobody is touching heavyweights like Bette Davis or Meryl Streep, but Marilyn Monroe definitely earned her status.
Even now, when I rewatch Some Like It Hot, damn... she nails that role. Your average actress couldn't pull that off, and she basically manufactured that chemistry with the leads all on her own.

I get where you're coming from, but she was actually incredibly smart and a legit talented actress. What have you even seen of hers? How many movies? Sadly, she got pigeonholed playing dumb blondes—which is literally why those stupid jokes exist—and that wasn't by choice. It’s a classic case of not judging a book by its cover. She might not have been hitting that Bette Davis level of greatness, but she was damn good and knew how to deliver when it mattered. I agree there are tons of icons and sex symbols, but Marilyn Monroe had this aura that almost no one else could touch. That's probably why she's still legendary.
