Eating disorders are dangerous illnesses, and you don't need an excuse for illnesses. It doesn't matter if someone was being ironic or not; that sentence is just wrong. There are much smarter ways to mock a situation where some insecure girl thinks she'll finally see God if she drops three pounds of water weight.
After a post like this, nobody who reads it is going to take me—or penny—seriously ever again.
Honestly, I couldn't care less.
If you're that fragile, that's your problem.
Is there a Red Cross logo written on my forehead? Of course not. Am I obligated to worry about the mental or physical health of my fellow Americans? Yes, I am.
But I'm not.
If you want to throw up, you won't. If you want to shoot up a vein, you won't. What is that going to do to me?
As long as it doesn't affect me personally, everything is fine—no moral obligation is going to force censorship on me.
Something can get under my skin, sure, but as long as I'm far removed from the fallout, it stays as nothing more than words.
