Psychotropic medication discussion thread in Psychology & Therapy ·
I’ve been on Fluoxetine for about six months now, taking one pill a day. Well, due to some weird timing this week, I didn't get my refill on schedule, so I’m currently out of them... it got me wondering, does skipping a few doses actually trigger any side effects, or is it no big deal?

I'm planning to jump right back on as soon as I can grab the prescription from my doctor, but I just want to know if these little gaps are doing any actual damage to my progress.

Also, quick question for anyone else on this kind of regimen: how long were you guys on the starting dose? When I first kicked things off, I definitely felt a positive shift, but after a while, it’s like that feeling faded and now I'm not even sure if they're still doing anything at all...

I can't tell if this is normal, but lately, it's hitting me how much I actually take after her. Her parents still treat me like one of their own, which is tough because I honestly don't know how to act around them anymore. 😢

I've been back at the cemetery three or four times now. Every single time, I go there with a bouquet of roses and some silly little note, and I end up driving home in tears.

I miss her—it hurts like hell. If I could just have five minutes with her, just five minutes to say the things I never got to...

I totally get why you're hurting. This might sound harsh, and please don't take it the wrong way,
but eventually, things will start looking up if you try to get back out there and fill that void you're feeling right now. That whole "time heals all wounds" thing doesn't work if you spend all that time dwelling on the past—thinking about what happened or playing the "what if" game regarding how things ended so tragically.

You have to keep moving forward. Moving on doesn't mean you're erasing what you two had. You'll
always carry her with you, but you still have to live your life.😢

And hey, it might actually help to grab a notebook and just write everything down—all the thoughts swirling around, everything you wish you could say to her.

Hang in there. Stay strong.🙂

p.s.—sorry if that was a bit scattered.🙈
