Why doesn't God share His knowledge? in Religion ·
William Williams7 said:Exactly!

We should be thankful to Him for giving us what He intended and withholding what He intended.

You're quite the little genius—a bit of a breath of fresh air in this place, I suppose.🙂

William Williams7 said:Both you and I know that God created this world with incredible wisdom. We also know He shared a small spark of that wisdom and knowledge with us. He provided the guidelines and the roadmap, yet left us with the absolute freedom to choose whether we believe or not.

Who are we to sit in judgment of His infinite wisdom and love?

He placed us in such a high position among all His creations, and yet, we remain ungrateful.

Well, you'll see there are some of us who actually are grateful... I suppose. 🙂

People have been saying for ages that knowledge is laid out before us—it's right there, existing—so it’s really just a matter of who chooses to reach for it.

It's a bit like after-school programs in the States; they're available for anyone who wants them to learn something extra they enjoy—if they feel like it—without any pressure, just individual choice.

God doesn't force anyone to believe in Him, nor does He force anyone to seek knowledge.
He simply offers... the rest is up to the individual, I guess.

William Williams7;39916953 said:I’ve been avoiding this thread because I wasn't a fan of the title.

The idea that God doesn't share knowledge is just false. It’s funny—how those who don't believe in God always seem to have so many complaints about life on Earth (as if they're the only ones noticing). I guess they need God just to have someone to blame for their own lack of initiative—not to mention their laziness. If He doesn't exist, as you suggest, then who exactly is responsible for the state of the world?

Humans possess plenty of knowledge. God provides it, even when we aren't asking.

Imagine if most people actually sought knowledge from God!

Seriously? Just imagine if the majority of people on this planet were constantly seeking wisdom from God! We’d basically have a paradise here—a world full of enlightened people where nobody fights or argues, and everyone is essentially best friends.

But unfortunately, reality is quite the opposite.

Not that it matters; it isn't a myth. This will all be part of the new order of things eventually—regardless of whether skeptics disagree or just laugh it off.
As the saying goes: he who laughs last... 😉

It seems some people here still find anything straightforward completely unacceptable
it’s as if they have an inherent allergy to simplicity—they much prefer the endless, exhausting complication they seem to enjoy so much 😁

I suppose it’s because they think if things stop being complicated, they might actually lose their reason for existing 😁

which is why what Jesus said was quite brilliant: Thank You, Father, for hiding wisdom from the wise (the philosophers) and revealing it to little children

that is precisely why certain individuals here will never, ever grasp the true essence of things
they can spin themselves in circles for the rest of their lives, but actual knowledge will remain out of reach as long as they live

that is the reward for all their "effort"
the "prize" for everything they've "achieved" through philosophizing

mind you, there will be philosophers who eventually abandon their theories—but only those who realize there is absolutely no utility in them
only then will they have any fertile ground for actual growth in the right direction 🙂

God does not always intervene.

Because this isn't eternal life.

This life is merely a path toward eternity.

Every person must live through it.

And accept whatever life throws their way.

Both the joys and the sorrows.

Both birth and death.

But one must also accept eternal life.

Regards,

The Bible explains He will always help, though perhaps only those who sincerely seek Him and follow His laws—if that’s the right way to put it.
Which, I suppose, implies He won't help others at all, simply because they have no interest.

It is interesting how it's explained that Satan loves to "help"—he essentially owns the world, as was made clear out in the desert when he approached Jesus to tempt Him; he offered everything because he truly had power over it.
People who fail to understand this, or perhaps just choose not to believe, end up setting traps for themselves—unaware of who they are actually dealing with when "help" arrives.
That entity will eventually demand payment, asking for only one thing in return: a person's life, which is the ultimate cost.

I watch certain people from the sidelines—they openly despise God and blaspheme, which is frankly unpleasant to listen to—yet they seem to be doing great. They have the money, the luxury cars, the mansions, and they travel the world enjoying themselves without a care in the world... yet they still joke about how good God is to them, implying that's why they have everything while others don't.
When they finally do need help, it becomes painfully obvious who steps in to "assist" them—only to intentionally leave them hanging right when things start spiraling out of control.

Those are just a few details to consider.

I actually clicked your link just to see what you were about... but sorry, Benjamin Taylor6, I had to bail after the first few sentences.
If only you knew how much junk I’ve sucked up over the years—everything from random trivia to philosophy so dense it practically shorts out your brain.
But today? I don't know, I feel like I've finally cleared the mental clutter. I'm feeling centered. These days, I'd much rather just have a chill conversation with people... that's really all I'm looking for. Just some easygoing, good-natured back-and-forth... hearing what others think, sharing my own two cents, and then heading off after coffee on a sunny patio with a simple "see you around soon."😉
Honestly, you're worse than that old king in Syracuse who threw a fit because there was too much math at those Archimedean lectures.😁
The guy basically told him he should go spend time with the queen in the bedroom instead. No math required there, and certainly no headaches—unless, of course, things get a little too intense.😁

Hilarious, as usual. 😁

Honestly, I’m finding myself less interested in what people are posting on this forum lately—maybe my energy is just dipping, though my interest seems to have vanished somewhere along the way. 🤷
I still check in on a few specific users, and yours is particularly entertaining; when you flip your perspective, you're one of the rare ones who always has something new to say.

Consider this my official diploma for you. 😉

If only people knew how much heavy lifting my brain has done over the years—reading everything from dense philosophy to stuff that makes your head spin.
Lately, though—I don't know, maybe it's just a phase—I’ve cleared all that clutter away. I’m more into just... talking. That's really all I want now. Just some easy, good-natured conversation... hearing what others think, sharing my own thoughts, and then heading off after coffee on a sunny patio with a simple, "see you around soon."😉

Michael Anderson2 said:It's possible—entirely possible. I actually found myself facing a similar dilemma once, and let me tell you...

I was caught in what I'd call a very unenviable situation—one that was genuinely life-threatening, my own fault, too. In those moments where you feel completely stripped of control, the temptation is overwhelming to just surrender everything to "God's hands," move forward, and let whatever happens, happen.

But, it suddenly hit me—regardless of the circumstances, I had to take certain steps to improve my own odds. Charging blindly ahead while relying solely on divine intervention didn't strike me as particularly wise. So, I took action, and those measures ended up working out; if they hadn't, I wouldn't be here typing this right now... 😁

Now, the question remains: was that divine intervention, or did I overcome the crisis through my own abilities—or perhaps just pure luck? Should a true believer really rush headlong into danger with the name of God on their lips? 😁

Didn't God give humans intellect to actually use it?
You can see for yourself that, given the situation,

we understand that sometimes we succeed and sometimes we don't, which implies we have little control over our own paths when we rely solely on ourselves.
We try to lean on friends, too, but they can fail us—whether intentionally or simply because they lack the power to help.

That is why God said to rely only on Him; we should trust Him, because once we do, He steps in precisely when things start spinning out of control—when everyone else walks away or finds themselves unable to help because they just don't know how.
And God always knows how to handle it; He knows, but He waits for the person to realize it. He doesn't intervene immediately like people expect; He knows the right timing for everyone.
As for human needs being just needs... well, that's a whole different story.

I'm not sure if you followed me—lately, I have this feeling that nobody understands what I'm saying, let alone what I'm asking.
Why doesn't God share His knowledge? in Religion ·
Michael Anderson2 said:We don't bother praying to anyone—our philosophy is more along the lines of "trust yourself and your own grit." Interestingly enough, even the religious folks have a similar mindset: help yourself first, and then maybe God will step in... 😁

People who live by that mindset aren't actually believers; they’re just playing a part and confusing everyone around them.

A true believer knows what the Bible says: put your trust in nothing and no one—not even another person—except for Me, your God.
That’s basically one of the core principles for believers.
So, I guess you can tell who the real ones are by how they act.

Benjamin Taylor6 said:But look, I'm a TEOZOF through and through. We're the ones who actually study life in its rawest form—deeply, intensely. Some of us even find ourselves praying to every possible god under the sun. Even the atheists in our circle end up whispering prayers to some Great Non-Existent 😂

Well, I suppose I’ve moved past all that—maybe I just got tired of drowning in books. Everything living started feeling a bit too cluttered, so I figured, why not just pick one thing and stick to it? Something like that, I guess...

Benjamin Taylor6 said:Well, that priest had quite the big day today. See, on the first Sunday of every month, he holds this service that drags on for two hours and wraps up with a whole thing about falling under the influence of the Holy Spirit. Of course, at every single service, he makes sure to mention that you should probably buy his books. The money doesn't go to the Church, mind you—it goes straight to his kids.

And the Tao is apparently the Mother. Even though it’s grammatically masculine. Or maybe neutral. ☕

Benjamin Taylor6, we should have our first BBQ together 🙂🙂

You bring your family, I'll bring mine, and we can just enjoy the weather together.
We'll blast some rock music—loud enough that the priest can hear it over his fence.

As for the money?... Well, you know how the racket works—it either goes to his kids, him, or some other preachers.
I don't get why you even bother attending mass... are you waiting for the day you finally walk away from that weird "group" for good?!

20. The Sage and the World
Intellect limits life. What difference does "yes" or "no" make? What difference does good or evil make?
Should one follow the crowd or act like everyone else?
Oh, awakening is still a long way off.
The majority is filled with superficial joys,
as if they were feasting at banquets,
as if they were lounging on a spring patio,
but I am quiet, anchored in the source of feeling,
like a newborn baby who doesn't even
know how to laugh yet,
unattached, like a man without a home.
The majority has more than enough,
yet I, it seems, have nothing,
my spirit is mindless and empty.
The majority knows,
while I am ignorant and confused.
The majority is sharp and clever,
while I am dull,
patient as the ocean,
carried along, seemingly without purpose.
The majority has a sense of purpose,
while I am impractical and unrefined.

I am different from the majority,
most notably in that I seek support from Mother.

19. Virtue and Self
Discard knowledge, abandon cleverness! The well-being of the community will flourish.
Discard customs and abandon laws!
Family love will return.
Discard cunning, abandon desire!
Thieves and bandits will vanish.

Those three touch the external and are not enough,
so they must assume a higher principle.
Discover your unadorned self,
embrace your primal source,
restrain your egoism,
and be simple.

So someone seeks support from Mother. And someone from Father. And someone from the Son.

Last time I wasn't really feeling it, so I bypassed you—just didn't want to ruin your vibe. 😉

But today, I'm saying hello, Benjamin Taylor6—how are things? Everything okay with you? 🙂
I was reading something you wrote yesterday—that bit about your neighbor, how he's such a great guy and cares so much about his two kids.
Man, I actually cracked up reading that; it was pure comedy gold.

As for me?... Am I like the Tao now?
Don't worry about me; I'm not changing, still stuck in the same beliefs.
It's just that sometimes I feel like having a normal conversation with people, away from all the posturing happening on this forum... I guess I call that my "five-minute break." 😉

Paul Collins7 said:To be honest, I was quite shaken by realizing how much evil exists today and how Satan works through things like music, technology, and most of what surrounds us. We blindly assume it's all innocent and that it can't hurt us, but in reality, we are drifting further away from God. What matters most is faith—being truly determined to serve God and belong to Him as much as you desire. At the end of the day, He created both everything and the darkness, and He will be the one to decide our ultimate fate. I don't understand how anyone can take life into their own hands like that, acting however they please. But I will never quite grasp people who intentionally do evil to others. Whether people are born that way or if it's somehow predestined, I simply don't know. What are your thoughts on that?

I had my own little wake-up call once I realized what was actually going on—the sheer scale of it all... the amount of things involved was honestly shocking.
Then I found myself wondering—well, where have you been living that you didn't notice sooner?
And, well, I didn't notice—I was just a kid, and kids are easy to mislead, I guess.

Now I realize none of it is particularly surprising, since it's easy enough to fool seniors who think they're wise just because of their age and experience.
But then again, an old man is just a man, and he can wear blinders his whole life.
On the flip side, I know young people who don't have any blinders at all and are incredibly aware of everything.

So, there's that idea of wisdom being something you supposedly gain with age.🙄

As for the people who want to cause harm?
They’re a topic unto themselves—villains, basically.

And no, nobody is born that way. A child is just a pure child when they're born, and as they grow, they act like a sponge, absorbing everything they see or hear.
It makes you realize how vital it is for a child to grow up in a healthy environment, I suppose.

Paul Collins7 said:There's always at least a little bit of courage to be found! I completely understand you; you've realized that God is something we should perhaps respect a bit more, alongside Life itself! I personally had some close encounters with black magic—not something I practiced myself, but something my best friend dealt with that threatened the well-being of my family and me. To be honest, I knew something was happening, but I assumed it was normal until everything came to light. I don't like talking about it because people often fail to grasp what is being said, and I get it, because I used to speak that way too. But now, I am so much more grateful to God because going through that experience opened my eyes and helped me find the meaning in everything.

That sounds terrible—what you went through, I imagine wasn't easy at all.
You'd be surprised if I told you how some of my own family members back home used to visit occultists to try and "fix" their problems—they even asked me if I wanted to join them.
I guess I was tempted by them for a moment—they went, they came back, and they were never happy again.
I despise that filth—it's truly Satanic work. I told them not to go because it won't end well, but I suppose you can't explain things to everyone, even if they're born a hundred times over.

Satan loves those things—amongst all his other schemes, he's just waiting for someone to join that specific spiritual realm. Once you make contact, it becomes a very difficult problem to solve.

I've spoken with people who used to practice magic before.
They explained what actually happens and how dangerous it is—apparently, people aren't even aware of how far down the rabbit hole they can go.

So, I am genuinely glad for you—if this was the reason you finally saw the light...
Everyone has their own reason and their own day to finally see clearly.
Why doesn't God share His knowledge? in Religion ·
Paul Collins7 said:I am curious, though—what exactly caused that shift in you? You speak well, but one cannot rely solely on the heart, as it isn't always right. That is why God gave us a brain as well; we should use both to find that golden mean, that perfect balance between the two.

Of course you can't rely solely on your heart—we aren't quite that reckless, I suppose.

The formula: heart + logic + knowledge = 🙂

Something quite mundane happened to me once—it wasn't even a day of grief or losing someone close... I was just walking through the park with my dog, watching people pass by, just enjoying the peace of a nice day, I guess.
And suddenly, something stirred deep within me, and I felt compelled to simply tell God, "God, if You really exist, I just want to thank You for this beautiful day."
When I got home, the feeling hadn't faded—not really—so I started looking into things. That was the moment I picked up the Bible, and since then, it's been a constant part of my life; years have passed, but it’s still there.

I know, people likely find this funny—it's not enough of an explanation for them. They would much rather hear that I fell in love with God after a funeral, or that I witnessed some terrifying miracle and finally came to my senses—they want those dramatic examples.

To be honest, I have faced fear and hardship in various forms; some people have nearly broken me in their pursuit of their own goals—I'll be blunt about it, as I always try to be.

And yet, that particular day—the one I'll remember as long as I live—was completely devoid of trouble or chaos. It was just an ordinary day, which is precisely why it remains so incredibly special to me.🙂

What about you?
What drew you in?
(I suspect there will probably just be silence from your end—perhaps a lack of courage?)

Paul Collins7 said:Perhaps death isn't actually as terrifying as we make it out to be. It feels heavy because we’ve simply forgotten where we were before this life began. To Him, our passing is nothing compared to the vastness of eternity. Personally, I tend to view this whole existence as a sort of test—a way to see how we conduct ourselves. Will we surrender to our most base impulses? How far will we go? It’s always much easier to give in to sin and take the fast route, even if it's the wrong one, rather than choosing the harder, more righteous path. I am certain that God exists; I used to be a staunch agnostic, but certain things happened in my own life that completely reshaped my entire worldview.

Death isn't so scary if an old man just drifts off into a final sleep and never wakes up again.
I suppose that’s the kind of death anyone would hope for once they realize it's inevitable—it's probably the best way to go.
Anything else—the typical ways people suffer through death—well, that's a different matter entirely.

Of course sinning is easier; it’s practically human nature.
But correcting those mistakes is also part of being human—it's certainly more difficult, I guess, but possible with enough willpower.

So, you say you were a firm agnostic?
Now you see that was pointless?
I was somewhat similar—once, maybe—but looking back now, it seems almost funny.
Today, I've made my choice, and my heart tells me I haven't made a mistake.
I don't know about everyone else, but I find myself constantly saying: listen to your heart, ignore the people trying to drown you out with their formulas... just let your heart lead.🙂

Benjamin Taylor6 said:But look, that’s all just faith—it isn't actual knowledge. If we were talking about real knowledge, He would have founded some kind of academy for Astral Projection, where people could actually experience what it feels like to be out-of-body on their own terms. 😁

You know as well as I do that faith itself encompasses a massive amount of knowledge—it's all interconnected, I suppose.

Paul Collins7 said:The insight you reach through your own struggle is far more valuable than someone simply handing you all the secrets of the universe when you don't even have the capacity to understand them!

But is it even possible for a person to achieve true enlightenment alone?
I suspect that’s impossible—people just like to pretend they can, I guess.
Why did Jesus die? in Religion ·
I wonder why Jesus died—based on the polls being conducted around town lately, it seems people aren't quite sure why

since most respondents, when asked "What does Easter mean to you?", basically just say it’s a day to gather at home with family for a big lunch and some socializing

and they say the exact same thing when you bring up Christmas

so, essentially 🙄 people seem completely oblivious—or perhaps they just don't care beyond spending time with their inner circle ☕

which leaves me wondering what one is supposed to say about people and their supposed need for spirituality
they claim, of course—they mention that they ought to have that need
...but they won't go a single inch further; there's no chance they'll move because they simply aren't interested
certainly, they call on God when they're in trouble, expecting Him to act like a magic wand and grant their every wish

people like that would probably be better off just building a goldfish pond in their backyard
