Do you truly accept yourself? in Psychology & Therapy ·
No.
I spend a good amount of my time daydreaming about being someone else entirely—someone more attractive, more successful, and happier. I’ve come to terms with my inner self, which I wouldn't change, but my outward persona hasn't changed because it hasn't brought much positivity to my life.

I’m telling you, those questions are what if fundamental components of your business plan. If you didn't have a plan, you wouldn't be asking them in the first place.

Here is the crux of my struggle right now. The folks on this forum have been incredibly helpful—really, they have—but now I'm facing a new hurdle.
My fear is what happens when the symptoms subside—when the OCD finally lets go of me. I worry that once the intrusive thoughts pass, if I were to simply look at or even accidentally brush against a child, I might experience some sort of physical response—some kind of sexual stimulation—and then I would genuinely start to believe I am a pedophile. What if the OCD passes, but the reaction remains?
That is the part that haunts me... the idea that the obsession fades, but the actual sensation occurs..

It doesn't just vanish on its own. This is an illness that requires treatment from professionals. It isn't a phase that comes and goes; it is a psychological disorder. That question about what happens when the OCD "passes" is actually part of the OCD itself—the dark thoughts, the foreboding, the panic attacks, and the constant speculation. Self-doubt and intense questioning are core components of OCD. Over time, the specific fear regarding pedophilia will likely fade, but a different fear will take its place. It is a continuous cycle.

graniteeagle3 said:I have no interest in taking drugs. And frankly—and I mean this quite sincerely—I don't think a psychiatrist would even be able to grasp the nature of this particular issue if I were to tell them.

Whatever you were planning to tell a psychiatrist, they have heard it a hundred times already. Don't waste your energy worrying about shocking them or feeling ashamed.

graniteeagle3 said:The zoophilia thoughts have passed, much like the ones involving incest did. Now, the only thing left is necrophilia.
But it feels like the fear itself is what feeds the cycle—I realize that intellectually, I know these are just intrusive thoughts, yet there is this persistent, nagging unrest in my mind that keeps whispering: "But what if they aren't?"

Right now, I find myself terrified that if I even brush against a child or catch their eye, I'll suddenly feel an attraction. And if that happens... what then?

Go see a psychiatrist. They will explain what's going on and prescribe medication that should help you feel better.

Once you get past the phase of pedophilia or zoophilia, something else will pop up—maybe necrophilia or even incestuous thoughts.
What you’re dealing with are classic symptoms of OCD. There is no reason to worry; you aren't going to assault a child or an animal. People with OCD never act on their intrusive thoughts.

I'd like to build on the previous post here.
Internet rage: What's your breaking point? in Psychology & Therapy ·
I used to spend a lot of time posting comments on CNN, mostly because the thought of the environment I live in and the idiots I share space with absolutely drove me crazy. I guess I had this desperate urge to prove that there were actually people out there who thought differently—not necessarily better, just different. I still follow the news, but I gave up on the comment sections long ago. To this day, I find myself cursing my fellow citizens under my breath, thinking, "Who even cares what you think? You didn't deserve anything better anyway.

If there are any women in their 20s or 30s looking for someone to chat with or swap experiences, feel free to reach out. I’m happy to offer some amateur advice if anyone needs it. This goes for everyone, but it’s especially for those dealing with OCD.

If anyone needs someone to chat with for a bit, feel free to reach out. I can talk about anything from general life issues to just everyday situations. I haven't had anyone to turn to myself, but I'm happy to offer whatever support I can to anyone who needs it.
Last year, I was diagnosed with an allergy to birch and hazelnut pollen. I had some immunological tests done last week; my ECP is elevated at 76.2, though my IgE levels are within the normal range. Do these results suggest a risk of developing asthma?
I just got my blood and urine results back. In the hematology section, my lymphocytes are low at 15.7 (range 20-46), and my neutrophils are high at 76.5 (range 44-72). Also, the platelet PDW is slightly elevated at 16.6 (range 12-16.5). Everything else falls within the normal range.

I also have questions about my urinalysis:

Appearance: clear
Color: yellow
pH: 6
Specific Gravity: 1.025

Sediment:

RBCs: 2-3
WBCs: 3-4
Epithelial cells: 2-3 squamous epithelial cells
Bacteria: trace
Mucus: trace
Crystals: trace calcium oxalate crystals.

She actually admitted herself that her primary advisors were Wesley Clark and Richard Holbrooke. She didn't know much about the war in Canada, but they filled her in on everything. Besides, the movie is supposedly meant to be a critique of the international community.

I don't mind the movie itself. What really gets on my nerves is her attitude—that whole "I came here to make peace" routine.

The hysteria in Mexico was manufactured by the state media, especially outlets like the Evening News that turned this film into a massive saga. Honestly, it’s better for them to write about Anđa than to address the pathetic economic situation in this country.
