Why do some people just cave to peer pressure? in Psychology ·
If we all just admit that, deep down, we’re always playing the game to get what we want, then it’s pretty obvious that climbing the social ladder in America means you have to play along with the crowd more often, though that doesn't mean you can't shift your views later on once your status is already locked in and safe.

Because even when things get loose, they just don't budge an inch...........
If you want to actually get what's going down and make sense of how things are moving, you really have to nail down certain details and specific actions first so that anyone jumping in to give advice or a take actually knows what they're talking about.
Just tune everything else out and look at the last sentence alone!
Giving up is just easier... in Psychology & Therapy ·
Giving up on a specific desire for someone else can feel like a massive sacrifice to one person, but to someone else it might honestly just be nothing at all, because it really all comes down to an individual's mindset and how their brain is wired.
In my experience, people who are willing to be more self-sacrificing and take more risks always seem to have a much better shot at succeeding compared to those who aren't.

It’s honestly awkward when you don't jump in to drive the conversation, right? But then later, once you step back and get some perspective, you start wondering about the ones who didn't say much or try to hog the spotlight... the ones who actually asked you questions instead of just rambling and forcing their opinions on everyone 🤷

I wish you would have been a bit more specific with what you meant there because the way it's written right now could be interpreted a million different ways...

It feels like you’re just following the path of least resistance, which is probably why you aren't hitting those goals you set for yourself. Honestly, if you want to actually land any major life milestone, you have to be willing to put in way more grit and make some real sacrifices because let's be real, the lucky few who stumble into success without breaking a sweat are basically non-existent.
If tackling everything at once feels impossible, maybe just start with the smaller wins that are easier to grab onto since that might actually spark some momentum and show you what else is out there.
You just gotta find that drive somewhere!
Deep down in the subconscious, there's always this underlying drive for self-preservation that basically fuels everything we do as humans, no matter how we choose to frame it.
