So, what's the move when you guys head out—do you all link up on Saturdays, grab a few drinks at some local pub, and then hit a club or something?
Henry Stewart73 said:Well, I guess may God help whoever actually ends up inheriting it all, right? Seems pretty logical that way...
Henry Stewart73 said:Besides, they’ve got a solid pension, so there’s really no reason to worry... they're actually doing better than most retirees out there.
Who's actually gonna inherit anything? You never know if these people will even make it out of their graves—but hey, if they've got the cash, whatever.
🙂
Henry Stewart73 said:You aren't alone in this. My husband and I didn't inherit a single cent from either side of our families. We built our own house from the ground up and put two kids through college on our own. We've made so many sacrifices along the way, and honestly... I’ll admit I’ve felt that frustration quite often myself, even now.
At the very least, we don't have to worry about supporting aging parents. I really don't get why you're stepping up to help your parents when they're living on such a tiny Social Security check?? If I were in your shoes, I wouldn't do it. They could always rent out a room to a college student or something just to bring in some extra cash. Why should you be the one struggling just because their pension is low, especially when you know there isn't any inheritance waiting for you down the line? It's a different story if you're eventually going to inherit their home or an apartment... then helping them makes sense.
I know for a fact that no one is leaving us anything, so I have zero interest in playing financier. The only windfall I'm actually counting on is hitting the Powerball 😁
They spent their whole lives investing in you—paying for school, dinners, clothes, everything—and now you'd turn your nose up and refuse to help (if you even could) just because there's no payout? Clearly, love doesn't mean much anymore—everything is just about the money.
I’ve heard such disgusting comments about inheritance lately that I’m actually repulsed by people—stuff like "oh, I'll just rent out that condo I'm buying once my parents pass" or "we all know who's getting the house," or even claims that a future wife will inherit way more from her own family, so you'll end up suing your siblings in court if things go south. Honestly, if they don't play it smart, they're gonna get screwed. People are like freaking vultures, carving up the assets of living folks before they're even gone. When I asked how anyone could possibly know what someone's leaving behind, I got this look like I was the crazy one—as if it's a given that everything goes to us and nobody else. Look, I’ve already inherited some stuff through pure luck, but even if I hadn't, I wouldn't give a damn about it.
This whole country feels like it’s stuck in some Twilight Zone fever dream 😲—some people are actually setting up memorials for those insurgents who fought against the US Army. I bet you some "progressive" activist will claim it's totally fine and we should just move on. Where are all the former communists, Milton Eshet, and those various lobby groups now? Nowhere to be found when they need to condemn this stuff. But the second someone wears black, they start screaming about fascism like it’s an unforgivable sin in America. I’m honestly wondering if there’s any actual legal recourse for these guys putting up monuments to traitors? Or are they basically a protected species now where nobody can touch them?
Honestly, I couldn't care less—if you want to watch it, fine, if not, whatever. Not my problem at all.
