I suppose I should probably address misty marie directly, though I can't say I'm entirely sure what to make of that particular sentiment. kaže:
I can’t seem to shake this one recurring dream; it just keeps coming back to haunt me.
I am catastrophically disorganized, especially when I get word that an audit is dropping on me tomorrow. I spent the entire night hunched over my ledger, meticulously logging everything, only to wake up this morning and realize I’ve spent hours accidentally recording data from the wrong shift. It was all a complete wash. Then, naturally, there’s a knock at the door, the auditors start demanding IDs, and suddenly I’m blinking awake in a state of total panic. Honestly, I think it might be time to quit this career path and try my luck in Hollywood instead.
🙂

Don't bother waking them up; instead, wait for that exact moment when they're pulling out their IDs and offer them the kind of cookies Henry Edwards33 brings to the table. You'll see how quickly everyone becomes pleasant once there's sugar involved—suddenly, what felt like a total nightmare transforms into a rather delightful little tasting session. 🤣

Henry Edwards33, please, enough with the food talk... I really can't handle any more descriptions if I want to avoid gaining ten pounds by next week. 😂😂😂

Hey Klara6, good to see you here too. 🙂

Let it happen; it's worth it 😁

Besides, those sliders pair perfectly with cabbage dishes; you can easily combine them all into one glorious meal 🤣

Good grief, look at that spread... now I’m absolutely starving.😵

Now, where on earth did I tuck away my delivery number... 🤔

I'll probably just be dreaming about how incredible those look tonight... 😉🤣

Jessica Grant56 said:Has she had one too many cocktails and decided to start painting everything in sight?!? She’s certainly got a lot to say!! Does she seriously not realize it’s a massive sin not to cook (at least) some pasta? You’re only allowed to debate things in the evening if you've met the first requirement—having a hot dinner ready. And yeah, am I a man-show... show... what’s the word?? A chauvinist??

Honestly, if you could see how perfectly my dear husband roasts chicken... with potatoes... there's truly nobody better; I could spend a hundred years trying and still never manage to get it that juicy yet crispy.

And since it's such a cardinal sin to skip lunch, for heaven's sake Jessica Grant56, 😲 why don't you just cook it on Sundays at the very least????????

What's up?

Just tackling some housework—ironing, cooking, cleaning... you know, the usual glamorous stuff.😢

Oh, really? Isn't it Sunday?
When are you going to realize that Sunday is strictly reserved for doing absolutely nothing, barring the occasional meal prepared out of pure tradition rather than any actual hunger? It’s just about maintaining order, I suppose. 🤣

As for me, I am currently embracing the art of being bored. :-))

It just goes to show they haven't the slightest clue what they're doing; they clearly lack even a shred of a coherent strategy...
The whole thing is a mess... though I suppose we can guess who’s pulling the strings behind the scenes... the bean counters... 🙂

Haha, truly brilliant. I have to hand it to you, that actually gave me a good laugh.

Jessica Grant56 said:Of course I do... but honestly, with the way they're squeezing people right now, you might as well just give them everything you own. It feels like you're guilty just for being productive. Or for breathing, really.

Thanks for the heads-up, but I already paid the sales tax. Honestly, I’m not even going to mess with it—if they decide to hit me with interest because I was a day late or something, then I guess I'll just deal with the headache later...

I can't remember seeing this kind of overreach before—at least not in the twenty years since I made the mistake of leaving government work for the private sector. And man, life was easy back when I was on a federal job; the pay was solid and reliable... No dealing with tax auditors or those little pests looking for trouble. You didn't have to worry about whether there was $2.25 extra change (like pennies or nickels!!) or if you were short by ten cents. It always comes back to this: if you're actually working, you're bound to make a mistake eventually!

Personally, I’d probably just wait a year, let the clock run out, and then write the whole thing off as a loss...

mistynomad3 said:I run a small textile shop and need some clarity. Does my store receipt legally have to show VAT if I’m strictly operating within California? Also, did the tax code books or IRS regulations undergo any major shifts after July 1st? Thanks a lot.

Why all the hostility? We're actually reading what you have to say, provided you can manage to write like a functioning adult...☕

Jessica Grant56, I completely blanked for a second there... Just so we're clear, you need to file the tax forms by the 20th, but the actual payment deadline hasn't moved—you still have until the 30th of the month, just like always... nothing has changed on that front...
Anyway, I figured I’d mention it now just to save you from any unnecessary 🙂

Jessica Grant56 said:Hey ladies, look—this is just a chat thread for hanging out and venting, not some formal debate hall! I didn't expect everyone to jump straight into such a heavy discussion. Honestly, I wasn't even sure where this would fit, but if there isn't a specific spot for it, maybe we should just start a dedicated thread. Though, knowing how things work in the USA, I highly doubt we’ll find any smart solutions to the sheer nonsense happening in our country.

Actually, I've got something weighing on my mind too: the nightmare of inventory management. How am I supposed to find the "absolute truth" regarding 220 pounds of write-off stock? I've been sitting on it for two years just waiting for an inspector to show up, but there isn't a single company in my small town that handles buybacks, nor is there anyone willing to give me a formal receipt proving I actually tossed it. Typical USA, right? Just total madness.

Do you have any written proof that you actually requested an inspection?
If not, I’d suggest sending a formal written request to the IRS via certified mail with a return receipt requested. Give it some time; even they have certain regulatory windows they're required to operate within...

Jessica Grant56 said:Good grief, have I really gone this long without checking in? It feels like forever! Glad to be back.

Are we dealing with a sudden bout of dementia here, or did you just have a particularly distracting visit from an old flame? 😂😂😂

Henry Edwards33 said:🤣

I won't be the one telling you that; I just listen to the people who don't bother invoicing deposits 😉

Because apparently, that's just not "necessary."🙄

I actually had a bit of a headache involving one of those invoices today. At first, I assumed they were refusing to issue a receipt for the deposit just to dodge some sales tax liability, but once they emailed me an invoice for a service that hasn't even been performed yet—complete with a description that was wildly inaccurate—it hit me that people genuinely have no idea what they're doing. I've decided to just wash my hands of the whole mess and wait until the job is actually finished...
They seem utterly bewildered because they heard that the old way of handling prepayments doesn't exist anymore... They just aren't keeping up.

Good grief, what a complete mess this place is. I honestly thought I’d taken a wrong turn somewhere; I had to read the headline three times just to make sure I hadn't wandered into the wrong thread—and here I am, looking for nothing more than some coffee and conversation...
Well, whatever happened, happened. At least things should quiet down a bit now. :-))

Dub, please accept these flowers on me. image image
And a cappuccino... image

Plus a little chocolate bar image

And here is some watermelon while it's still in season. image

Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm heading to the store to grab some supplies so I can help The Government hand out those boxes around here. 😁

I hadn't even noticed 😉
it’s probably just because I rarely show up around here, so they tend to let me slip right through the doors without a second thought 😂😂😂

Not really my concern; anything that gets overheated can always be cooled back down eventually.😁

I wouldn't advise doing that to yourself; it’s already blistering hot enough out there as it is.😉

Terry Barrett33 said:I missed my sales tax filing deadline—I honestly had no idea it was due by the 20th! Does this apply to the June filing, or am I going to get hit with a penalty?

June follows the old schedule; the 20th deadline actually applies to July's filings, meaning you're looking at August 20th...
