How can you even say it's just thrown together when the whole thing is built directly on the foundation of >? It's parodying that specific movie by setting the whole plot in a house crawling with ghosts, and then they weave in those other movie nods using their main characters! If it were actually "thrown together," the plot would be jumping all over the place from one second to the next without any rhyme or reason, right?
And look, since we aren't dealing with massive superstars like > or > or someone else of that caliber, I actually think the humor is spot on.
🙂
What a character... honestly, I’ve been sitting here thinking about it, and I really feel like that rating over on IMDb is way too generous...
There’s just so much being thrown around all at once that everything has become a complete and utter mess...
Look, cosmiclynx57, I honestly can't tell if you're just being incredibly dense or if there's some underlying streak of pure malice driving you... it's hard to say at this point...

Don't bother. It really isn't worth your time.
The plot is non-existent, the jokes fall flat, the acting is just mediocre at best, and some of the scenes feel like they were thrown in there completely at random...
If you do decide to watch it, let me know what you think🙂
coppersailor28 said:Funny to you? You just claimed there are maybe five funny moments out of the entire movie.
Besides, there might only be about five (funny scenes) anyway.
Funny to you—which doesn't mean anyone else finds those specific scenes funny.
...but out of 200 attempts, that's not enough.
Duration: 1h 19min...
A new scene every fifteen seconds? So, something funny every fifteen seconds? By that logic, what comedy is actually successful?! What thriller is a real thriller? What horror is actual horror? What crime drama is a genuine crime drama?
How many scenes in that movie did you even recognize as parodies of other films? Even if you did, how clear was the parody to you—like, which specific characteristic was being mocked and why? Did you connect any scenes to the movies on this list? (Sure, matching every single scene to a specific moment from another film is something only a total cinephile would attempt... but on average, a "good" experience just requires the viewer to vaguely remember scenes from three or four major films being parodied)
You're talking nonsense here...🙂
I’ve sat through Abraham Lincoln, Paranormal Activity, and even Men Against Women, plus I'm familiar with The Apprentice (Trump), that whole bidding show, and a few other things... and honestly, not a single joke landed for me. Not one.
Look, it’s obvious my sense of humor doesn't quite align with yours or the rest of the general public, but I can definitely tell when something just isn't clever. Beyond that, the production quality is just abysmal—the camera work feels totally aimless most of the time, and the characters are nothing but irritating...
But let's get into the actual specifics: did you actually find those Ghostbusters funny? Or that bit where the vacuum cleaner was used as the daughter's choice? Did those lesbian scenes even make any sense at all?
I went into this movie with an open heart, because, as I mentioned before, I found Meet the Spartans to be watchable enough... but this? This is just plain bad.
Good grief... 🤦 I can't believe this is what I'm spending my time debating.
P.S. The movie is only about 80 minutes long, yet it felt like there were two or three "jokes" crammed into every single minute... and I don't think I'm even exaggerating there.
Alright everyone, let's call it a day, this isn't even funny anymore.
I finally sat down to watch this movie after cosmiclynx57 recommended it, and honestly, I’d be absolutely livid if I had actually spent a single buck on this... I mean, time is money, after all 😠
The film is just NOT good, it's NOT funny, and frankly, it's mostly just irritating and incredibly tedious. Seriously, which scene was supposed to be humorous? Go ahead, name five funny scenes and maybe then I'll reconsider my stance... though, looking back, there might not even be five to find, because out of two hundred attempts at comedy, they barely hit the mark. It just leaves you feeling completely numb and apathetic towards the whole thing.
Once again, I'm telling you, this is a TOTAL DISASTER of a movie—don't waste your time watching it just to see how bad it really is.
I honestly thought you were pulling my leg and that this was just going to be some total garbage, but the reality of it is actually quite hilarious 😂 Abraham Lincoln 😁 😁
Thoughtful, witty, stellar acting... everything seems to fit together perfectly, doesn't it?
My verdict: movie: 1/10, humor: 0/10, plot: 0/10
Seriously, there isn't a single redeeming quality to be found here. It’s easily one of the worst films I’ve ever had the misfortune of watching in my life. And mind you, I usually find movies from those Dark film producers—you know, things like Meet the Spartans, Disaster Movie, or Give Movie—to be perfectly fine...
The person who started this thread really deserves a warning for misleading us all...
bluecyclist70 said:you can actually pick up those 30g single-serve pouches at the local GNC over in Brooklyn, which is just enough for one shake... I think it's about $5.00, but I can't say for certain. They usually have a bunch of different flavors to choose from, too.
That’s awesome, thanks so much. So, just to be absolutely sure—this is definitely whey, right? I'm honestly a little nervous about whether my stomach is going to handle it okay...
I wanted to put out a little request here, and I’m truly hoping someone might be willing to lend me a hand... you see, I’ve been looking into getting some whey protein, since everyone says it’s the gold standard for supplements.
To be honest, my budget is pretty tight right now, soy options feel overpriced, and the other brands 🤷 aren't really on my radar. But the real kicker is my digestion... I’m honestly a bit worried about how it might affect my stomach. The thing is, I can't exactly go out and buy just a tiny 50-gram sample, because almost everything in the stores comes in huge tubs of two pounds or more, and they certainly aren't cheap.
So, I was wondering if anyone might be open to a little deal where you might sell me something in the ballpark of 50 grams? My only real requirements are that it’s a high-quality product and that it’s actually whey. Ideally, I'd love something without a bunch of extra additives, or at least nothing too crazy...
I’m currently living in Washington, D.C., though I’m originally from California. I am really hoping someone can help me out here, because I genuinely don't have a way to test how these proteins sit with my system. I feel like if I had about 50 grams, I could use it over three days and finally get an idea of how it works for me. So, once again, if anyone in the Washington, D.C. area could help, I’d appreciate it... or if you know of any other way to test this stuff without buying a massive tub, I'm all ears.
Really great movie. It was strange, totally unique, just a beautiful piece of sci-fi drama...
I’ve looked into a few different theories regarding how it all ends, and while some of them make sense to me, I have to admit I’m still feeling a little bit turned around by the whole thing...
I’ve always felt the first one was the absolute best because... well, you just can't beat that raw originality, though I have to say the second installment was also quite impressive since it leaned so perfectly into what the predecessor established... the third one was just okay, nothing to write home about really... and honestly, all the criticism surrounding Paranormal Activity 4 isn't looking particularly promising...
I’m just sitting here staring at the movie banner right now... it's actually playing in theaters. It is quite interesting to see that AMC Theatres is showing it—they're practically shouting it from the rooftops with all this advertising—especially since they recently tore into the selection over at Larin and refused to screen it altogether... they certainly seem to have such deep, heartfelt concern for the audience, don't they?
To me, the whole movie felt pretty lackluster... just kind of uninspired and totally missed the mark, honestly. The characters were nothing more than walking clichés, and the humor? Well, it just didn't land for me at all... It felt like a complete retread of things we've seen a thousand times before, lacking any real spark of originality, and there are definitely much better films out there if you're looking for something worth your time.
