Day 9 on 10 mg of Lexapro... so far, so good. It feels pretty manageable. I take it first thing in the morning along with 0.25 mg of Xanax, which helps keep the panic at bay and stops my brain from spiraling too much. haha.. I’m even actually heading out for coffee and some shopping, which is a huge win for me. Last night around 9:30 PM, though, I felt this wave of heat and started sweating a bit. Then I got this dizzy, lightheaded feeling that really spooked me. I took my Xanax about half an hour later and felt fine after that. Could that have been a panic attack, or just a side effect? Since I take the pill in the morning, I figured it would have worn off by then. Has anyone else dealt with this? Is it normal? In those moments, I feel like I just have to lie down, otherwise the fear takes over and makes everything worse. 🙂 Oh, and I'm bumping up to 20 mg tomorrow 😁
electrichound3 said:I had the exact same thing happen when I was on Fevarin, precisely what you're describing. It felt like my upper body was on fire—like my lungs were actually burning. For me, that sensation lasted about two weeks, hitting me every single day right after I took the pill. It’s a revolting side effect. You just have to find a way to push through it; I found that taking some Normabel helped a little, but it wasn't much.
Exactly! I'm on day 6 of the antidepressant now and honestly, no side effects at all. For now, I just take the Xanax and Citalon together and I'm fine. I just hope I start feeling better soon.
My doctor mentioned my body might be reacting more intensely to the medication, so we’ll see how things go over the next day or two. If it stays this way, we might try Dr. Adams... also, I'm supposed to take my Xanax right along with the antidepressant tomorrow to help ease the side effects. I actually took some Xanax about an hour ago and I'm feeling much better now. Did you get that same burning sensation inside too? Because when it happens to me, I don't even sweat—it just feels like I'm burning up from the inside out. It's awful.
I'm on my fourth day of taking Citalopram, and about an hour after my dose this morning, I suddenly felt incredibly dizzy. I started sweating and actually got pretty scared, so I just laid down. Then, out of nowhere, it felt like I was burning up from the inside—like this intense acid was eating through my whole body, especially my upper torso. It was awful... I'm still feeling it. Has anyone else ever dealt with this? I tried calling my psychiatrist, but they aren't picking up, so I'm just waiting for a text back. Honestly, I'm pretty shaken up.😢
Is it possible that my ADHD meds actually spiked my anxiety? I've been feeling this intense fear of passing out all afternoon. I tried taking some Xanax 0.25mg with it, but honestly, it hasn't done much for me yet.
I used to love yoga, but I’ve pretty much let it slide since things started getting worse for me. Man, what I wouldn't give to just grab coffee with a friend, go for a walk, or head into a bank or a shop without feeling so anxious.🙂
redranger2, your words really mean a lot to me🙂 thank you🙂 I can't even step foot outside because the dizziness hits, then the panic sets in, and it just becomes this endless loop. I'm just stuck lying around at home, letting days slip by. When you feel like this, the day feels like it'll never end. .😢(I keep dreaming about the day I can finally go out and actually feel okay again.
I felt super nauseous earlier but couldn't even throw up... it was gross. I just made some chamomile tea and I'm feeling a little better now. Honestly, the dizziness and that spinning sensation are my biggest struggles right now; Connie says they're the worst part of my condition. Has anyone else dealt with that dizzy feeling or that general sense of weakness after starting AD?
Posting again... I'm just now realizing how much fear can really mess with you.
Everything I'm feeling seems to be driven by pure anxiety. I don't even know where all these fears are coming from. I'm just hoping everything goes okay at the doctor's appointment.
I honestly think it’s just a fear of the pills themselves... I have so many anxieties right now that I can't even keep track of them all anymore😢 and it's all hit me at once... Today, about an hour after I took my Helix, the dizziness and restlessness kicked in hard—I'm pretty sure it was a panic attack. The worst part is feeling like I just have to lie down or hide away until it passes.😢It settled down after an hour, though. I'm convinced it was the anxiety talking, not the Helix itself.😢 Sigh... will this ever end? Sending you guys nothing but the best.---😉😍
I’m doing alright now... I took some Xanax to help with the dizziness so I could actually step outside without feeling faint. To be honest, I was terrified about how it might react with the Zoloft! Now I’m just dealing with these weird tingles and stuff... this health anxiety is just the worst. I really hope this passes soon. It’s honestly exhausting, and I wish people understood what we go through. ..Thanks so much for the support, Duet!!!😍
What's the worst part? I had a drink tonight to take the edge off, so I'm feeling a bit calmer now. But tomorrow morning, the anxiety and the anticipation will be right back. Aaaaaaa, but I don't really have any other choice. 😢
I’m doing alright now... just a little bit of shaking and then it passes. Everything else is fine, though I guess I am paying extra close attention to my body since I'm such a huge hypochondriac, ugh.
I know, thanks, but I'm just going to stick to what my doctor prescribed and start at 10 mg... I really shouldn't be messing with my own dosage.🙂Thanks for looking out for me.🙂
I finally worked up the nerve to take my first 10 mg dose of Citalopram at 10:00 this morning. About half an hour later, I started getting these weird tingles in my hands and legs—kind of like when your eyelid twitches, but more like my muscles are just jumping around. It’s nothing intense, just some buzzing in my limbs. Honestly, I read the list of side effects online and now I'm totally overthinking everything. I know I shouldn't, but maybe I'm just terrified of the worst-case scenario? Is this a normal reaction to the meds? I already shot my doctor a text just to be safe. Ugh, I'm such a nervous wreck. I still have more to take, too. I can't believe I'm panicking like this.🙂 how long after taking a pill do these side effects usually kick in, and how long do they last? Also, should I be bracing myself for anything else today?😁
I’m over 30 years old, and my mom still tries to run my entire life... we’re constantly clashing. She basically raised me to be afraid of everything. I can’t remember a single time she ever gave me a compliment or told me I did a good job. No matter what I bought her, it was never quite right. I used to desperately just want her to say "I love you" or talk to me like a friend, but in my family, we don't do emotions. We don't hug, and we don't even share things that most people consider totally normal. I'm actually the complete opposite—I'm a really emotional person, and I really feel that void... 😢. So, after all that, here I am dealing with anxiety, depression and panic attacks. If you let her micromanage your whole life like she does mine, you’ll end up exactly where I am. I truly believe parents need to show positive emotions and actually back their kids up; building their self-esteem is huge for how they handle life later on . Now, I struggle with insecurity, I'm easily hurt, and I have major issues with authority... it's a lot. I would never dream of doing that to my own child...
