So, I picked up a car on a 60-month term with a 40% down payment. Once those payments wrap up, there's a remaining balance of $6,000. What exactly does that $6,000 figure represent?

Also, could someone walk me through how buying out the vehicle works once the contract ends? Basically, after those 60 months are up and the car is fully paid off, how is the buyout price actually calculated?

I’m dealing with a pretty wild situation right now. I’ve been renting a room from this guy for about a year, and everything was totally official—I was even registered with the local police department. Well, today was move-out day, and things went south fast. As soon as we handed over the keys, the landlord and his son turned on us physically. They actually pushed my girlfriend and me out of the bed! They were making all sorts of threats, so I ended up calling 911. In the end, the cops just told us to go our separate ways and head home. The crazy part is how ungrateful he’s being. He’s providing a much nicer place than what we were paying for, and everything was settled up, but he’s acting like a total jerk just because he lost his job. Since he’s being such a nightmare, I’m thinking about reporting him to the IRS for tax evasion. Is that even a viable move? Can I actually do something about this, or am I stuck? Just to be clear, we never signed any formal lease or anything like that. It was basically like showing up at Jim's place, handing over the cash, and registering with the authorities. That was the whole deal.

I really need some advice here. I’ve been dealing with chronic facial inflammation for four years now, and I'm only 18. I see a dermatologist regularly—one of the top specialists in Cleveland—but honestly, it feels like I'm just running in circles. I go in for professional facials every three months and I stay strictly on top of my skincare routine, but nothing seems to stick. I might see a little improvement for about ten days after a treatment, but then everything just reverts to how it was before. The only time I saw any real progress was last year when I was on a 15-day course of antibiotics, but even then, a month later, I was right back where I started. Also, if you ask me, all these different creams actually make my skin feel *oilier*. I'm at a loss because I desperately want to get this under control. Part of me wonders if this is all psychological, but it's hard not to feel extra stressed when I wake up and see my face looking even redder than usual. 🤷 If I were skipping my professional cleanings, I'd have an answer for you, but I'm being super consistent and still seeing zero results.

Any suggestions?

Guys, I’ve officially decided to just buy everything online because the local scene is driving me insane... I’ve spent all day trekking through New York City... hit up over ten different shops... and maybe four or five actually had even a tiny $50 bit of what I needed—I don't even want to describe how ridiculous that was...

Honestly, I’m not really sure either... I’ve never been big on shopping online; it just feels like too much of a hassle to deal with all that stuff.

What I am thinking, though, is that I’ll probably go for something a bit higher quality. It's hard to define what "quality" actually means these days, but those cheap ones around $40-$$167? They’re basically disposable. If they snap, they snap. I'll probably just whip up a cover out of some tarp or something—if they start falling apart, I'll just throw a cover over them and call it a day. I don't know what else to do.

Anyway, if anyone else has any good suggestions, let me know!

PS. I still need to check in with REI; I think they might have something decent in stock.🙂

Look, my definition of quality is pretty much the same as yours: if they aren't waterproof and built to last, what's the point? I want gear that I can rely on for years without any headaches. For me, the absolute ceiling for a pair of bib shorts is about $160... anything more than that is just 😁

Is it actually possible for someone under 18 to walk into a bank with just their ID and deposit cash into someone else's account?
To be specific, if I head over to Wells Fargo and try to deposit some money into a friend's account $167—is that allowed?
Is it doable or not???
