The only way to actually win is to stop giving them any power over you. Just walk through life with your head held high and focus entirely on the good stuff. I know, I know—it sounds like a total cliché, but trust me, it’s really the only way to go.
How do I actually fix this? I find myself blurting things out that I don't even mean, and then I end up being the butt of the joke or accidentally offending someone... I’ve been trying to change, but man, it’s tough. I tend to take everything literally and I'm pretty naive, so people take advantage of me more often than I'd like. I've always been this way, but it's really started to weigh on me over the last few years. Is it even possible to turn this around? Has anyone else here dealt with something similar? How did you handle it, or at least make it less painful?
