Mental health vs. college: How do you choose? in Psychology & Therapy ·
It’s hardly a shock you’re feeling burnt out when you’re pulling fourteen-hour study sessions every single day. You really ought to try finding some kind of rhythm, maybe even a bit of consistency, so you actually have room left for anything else in life... like having friends or a hobby that doesn't involve a textbook. That is, assuming you’ve actually made up your mind that this major is worth the struggle in the first place.
How to build strength without bulking up? in Hobbies & Leisure ·
wiredtinker8 said:Hey there. I'm an 18-year-old girl.
Like the title says, I want to know how to build strength—in my biceps or legs, for instance—but without those areas actually getting "bigger," because I don't really like that look on girls, even though I still want to be stronger in those spots. 🙄
I've been hitting the gym for a little while now, and I've noticed my legs are already starting to get that slightly "bulky" shape, so I'm worried they'll just keep getting wider over time...
I heard you're supposed to do cardio along with lifting, is that actually true?
And is it better to do cardio first, like running, or stick to the weights first?

Maybe do a little digging into the actual benefits of training, then grab a pen and paper and map out the pros and cons of working out versus staying sedentary... ask yourself what you actually gain by having tiny little leg muscles. Unless you're planning on walking a runway and losing a massive contract worth thousands of dollars if your legs get any stronger, it's probably not worth the worry...
