I was thinking about this the other day while looking at my calendar. I’ve always loved the idea of seeing a team play in a different setting—the atmosphere must be incredible when you get out of your home bubble and head somewhere tropical or even just a different time zone. It feels like a real event when it happens.
But honestly, I have mixed feelings about it. The logistics alone sound like a headache. Between the flights, the weird sleep schedules, and the sheer cost of moving an entire group of people across borders, I wonder if the "experience" outweighs the exhaustion. I've gone on trips for hobbies before where I ended up being too tired to actually enjoy the thing I traveled for.
Do you guys think playing away games in international spots is actually a benefit for the players, or is it just a massive logistical sinkhole for the schools?
People just adapt. If you’re constantly dealing with garbage, you eventually just get used to it. Then, when you finally get something even slightly better than the usual nightmare, you feel incredibly relieved—almost overjoyed. Over time, you start living for those little hits of positivity while the bad stuff just becomes your baseline. It’s not even about things being "bad" anymore; it’s just your normal. You end up developing this weird dependency on those tiny moments of relief. Leaving that situation means giving up those positive spikes too. Once you’re actually in a healthy environment where nobody is messing with you, those highs aren't as intense. Everything feels more level, more neutral... I don't know how to explain it. There aren't really any massive lows, but there aren't many big ups either, unfortunately. That’s why it’s so hard to walk away.
It’s kind of like why victims of abuse might end up defending their abusers; they get hooked on that "high" from the occasional positive reinforcement and end up protecting the very thing hurting them. When you cut out the negative, you lose the positive too, and suddenly everything feels meaningless. I guess you could call it a type of conditioning.
So, she caught a yeast infection? It’s got absolutely nothing to do with how much she's been hooking up. Honestly, people. 🤦 I don't get why everyone refuses to just Google stuff; we live in an era where info is right at our fingertips. 🤷
I don't really have any big goals or plans, I guess I'm just hoping the future brings enough good vibes and treats 🤣
I honestly have no idea what you guys are even talking about.
The concept is basically that owners of neutered pets could get tax breaks, along with people who adopt from animal shelters, according to The New York Times.
Sounds like a tax on idiots who buy dogs just because they like the idea of one, without realizing the responsibility or needing an actual bond with an animal—which usually ends with those dogs being dumped on the street or in a shelter. What this actually achieves is encouraging sterilization, which lowers the number of strays roaming around and reduces the load on shelters.
I guess there isn't much to debate here; seems like a pretty positive move to me.
