The mystery of life itself in Off-topic ·
William Miller83 said:Do you ever feel haunted by that profound sense of existential mystery? That timeless, transcendental feeling of deep wonder—that ultimate riddle, a secret among secrets?

I am something—but I am not everything.
I am everything—yet I am nothing.

Simultaneously dual, triple...
One single entity—yet somehow two-faced, three-faced, all-encompassing...
Perfect and completely broken, all at once.

Sometimes good, sometimes bad, sometimes wicked...

But this mystery of my own existence? It never leaves me.
Why am I even looking?
And what exactly am I seeing?

I see you within my world,
And I see myself within yours.

The same matter, the same fears, the same feelings, ideas, desires, emotions...
It’s as if the entire human race is woven into me—and I into them.

I get this mystical sensation sometimes. It’s always triggered by some kind of mystical silence. It reminds me of something timeless, something eternal—something gentle yet violent, ecstatic and comforting all at once. I actually love that feeling. It calms me down..

From what I’ve gathered, psychiatrists seem to have this obsession with handing out diagnoses, sometimes without even having a solid basis for them. Jason Kim6 said:Once, an American psychiatrist asked if I experience "strange thoughts." I assume she was referring to some specific psychiatric definition—if such a term even exists—but I wasn't quite sure what she meant by it.
I told her I don't have any strange thoughts, to which she responded with a skeptical "Are you sure?" It seems some professionals just don't know how to do their jobs properly.

Maybe she was trying to ask if there were any shifts in your thought patterns and figured that was a simpler way to put it? Or maybe she just blurted out whatever popped into her head. At the end of the day, it all depends on how you carry yourself—psychiatrists are inherently subjective creatures, aren't they?..
