Does that heavy, existential weight ever just crawl up your spine? You know—that timeless, out-of-body sensation where everything feels like one massive, unsolvable cosmic riddle...?

I’m kind of everything—but I'm definitely not all of it!
I’m everything—yet I’m nothing at all!

It's like being double, triple...
One single person—but also two-faced, three-faced, totally multi-layered...
Just perfectly functional and completely screwed up—all at once.

Sometimes I'm good, sometimes I'm bad, sometimes I'm straight-up evil...

But man, this mystery of just *existing*... it won't let me go.
Why am I even looking?
And what the hell am I actually seeing?

I see you guys living in my world
And I see myself drifting through yours.

Same raw matter, same old fears, the same gut feelings, thoughts, cravings, emotions...
It's like the whole damn human race is woven right into me—and I'm stitched right into it.

Look, I’m a creative guy through and through—designer by trade—so my brain just works in pictures. I visualize everything. Seriously. Everything from the most random daily bullshit and how I’m feeling, to actual face-to-face chats, even deep dives on these forums... all the way up to massive geopolitical drama unfolding globally. It’s constant.😁

I can't even remember a single night where I didn't drift off while mentally replaying every single thing that hit my brain during the day. Just a non-stop movie loop in my head.

But lately—for like the last year or so—this one specific image has been crashing the party. It’s like this spontaneous "final vision" that keeps forcing itself into my head over and over again... people kissing. No matter what else I’m trying to meditate on or focus on, there it is.

And before anyone starts thinking this is some weird, creepy thing—it isn't. It’s not negative at all. It feels more like... I don't know, an ultimate realization? Like this profound insight into the mystery of existence, the sheer essence of how fleeting life on Earth is, and this grander purpose we’re all supposedly part of... if you catch my drift.

It’s basically the head.
Now, as for what it all represents... well, that depends—it could be a message from your subconscious signs, or just a straight-up sign from the universe.
I deal with similar stuff myself—call it a fixation on something, but for me, there's always some kind of deeper realization behind it.

Those are some heavy questions.
So, what have you actually done to try and find the answers?
Biology? Chemistry? Anthropology? Psychology? Sociology?
Let me guess... you spent years digging through existing databases and academic journals, realized none of it gave you a straight answer, and now you're just venting your frustration by starting a thread on an American message board?

There’s nothing to "do" here, man, because this isn't some business venture or a startup thing. There’s no prize, no cherry on top, no reward waiting at the finish line. Honestly, there isn't even a slice of cake expected. It’s just the heavy burden of realization and self-discovery, which gives you these tiny little hints and half-answers to those eternal questions...

Most of the time, when I feel like starting a thread, it’s because of the various alkaloids I’m consuming or those asymmetrical neural connections that flash during a state of total intoxication—just pure chemical imbalance in my brain, you know?...

So yeah, addiction, alcoholism, perversions, whatever... if you really want to know what motivates me, that's the list. Not that it has anything to do with the topic, though.

The actual topic is the mystery of existence—how things persist, and the whole weird mystery of how subtle forms somehow manage to find their way into a living, breathing biological body.

I am usually prompted to start threads by various alkaloids I consume and the asymmetrical neural connections that flash during states of total intoxication, chemical brain imbalances, and so on.

Well done, my friend; I was waiting for you. 😉

Kudos on the thread. All things considered, from an evolutionary standpoint, we evolved too quickly (our brains generally nearly doubled in size over a very short period). Unfortunately, nature didn't provide us with any manual on how to utilize our full potential. So, we patch those gaps ourselves through various theories and studies. In reality, we are all the same, drifting through consciousness just as we drift through emotions. Essentially, we are just repeaters of the same old patterns. Whether a source or a so-called SELF, God, etc., exists, there are some indications, but to even catch a glimpse, you have to work for it. 😉

Cheers. 🙂

Hell yeah, man, I’ve been waiting for you to drop this 😉

Honestly, what a thread. Looking at the big picture—evolutionarily speaking—we basically leveled up way too fast. Like, our brains pretty much doubled in size in a blink of an eye. But the catch? Nature didn't give us a freaking manual on how to actually handle all that extra processing power. So now we’re just out here trying to patch the holes ourselves with endless degrees, seminars, and constant learning. At the end of the day, we're all basically running the same code—just drifting through consciousness and emotions. We're mostly just repeating the same patterns over and over. Is there a Source or some kind of God or whatever? There are hints, sure, but if you actually want to get even a glimpse of that stuff, you gotta 😉

Cheers 🙂

I can't help but feel like evolution isn't just a one-way street. It feels more like life goes through these evolutionary and devolutionary cycles—these massive waves of change that we aren't even wired to perceive. It's like that old mystical teaching says: "We came from minerals, and to minerals we return." We go from a mineral state back toward human form, and then back again... it's just an infinite loop, forever and ever.

And personally? I think the whole idea of "inanimate matter" is total nonsense. How can a rock or a boulder be "dead"? They were born from molten lava—which is basically just the Earth's guts leaking out! Is there even such a thing as a "dead planet"? Everything is constantly reacting at the subatomic level. There are intense nuclear forces happening everywhere. Isn't energy itself, fundamentally, alive?

Why did we narrow down the entire concept of birth, life, and death to just biological systems that eat and breed? Because that’s the only version of reality our species can wrap its head around. It's convenient.

So, in a way that's incredibly selfish and honestly pretty naive, we've taken the massive mystery of existence and energy and shoved it into this tiny, cramped perception of a lower reality. We basically formed an exclusive club for "life and survival," and we only let in the candidates who look like us—the ones who eat, consume, have sex, and reproduce.

But whether I'm looking through a microscope or staring through a telescope, I see the exact same principles playing out: birth, life, death, the struggle to exist. I see the clash of love versus hate, order versus chaos, creation versus destruction.

It doesn't matter if it's a subatomic particle or a massive galaxy. Or a human being standing right on that fuzzy line between micro and macro existence, between mere survival and some "divine manifestation." It’s all like a symbol, or a clue to some incredibly complex algorithm or mystical formula...

Like it's right there. Inside me and outside me, always and forever. Man, there’s this deep, gut-level intuition that the ultimate answer—the final truth and pure realization—is just around the corner. Just past the next deep thought or the next meditation session. It feels like it's shyly hiding behind every city block I walk down or every street corner I turn. Like it's hovering just beyond my next thought or action. And then...

Instead of that big, beautiful epiphany I’m craving, I just get handed another cryptic symbol, another riddle. Another puzzle piece I have to try and jam into this abstract construction of spiritual growth. And it's been going on for years. Honestly, it's been going on since the moment I became self-aware. It’s a blessing and a curse at the exact same time. A reward and a punishment wrapped into one single package.

I can't help but feel like so much of what we experience is just an illusion. It feels nearly impossible to shake off a mindset once it's been set in stone, doesn't it? I mean, if any of us actually had the answers, wouldn't things be different? Instead, people just dig their heels in at the first sign of something they don't like. They push back so hard without even bothering to look at the context or understand why those reactions are happening in the first place.

Carl Rivera43 said:It honestly feels like there are just so many different things happening throughout life—you know? It’s almost overwhelming when you stop to think about it! Is it just me, or does everything seem to hit all at once sometimes? Is it just me, or is everything starting to feel like a total illusion lately? — I mean, seriously, does anyone else ever stop and wonder if what we’re seeing is actually the "real" deal? It’s such a wild thought to wrap your head around! Is it all just a trick of the mind, or is there something much deeper going on beneath the surface? I’d love to hear what you guys think about this!, It’s honestly such an uphill battle trying to shift a concept that’s already been set in stone—I mean, think about it! If we actually had all the answers laid out for us, would people still be so incredibly resistant to anything that doesn't immediately click? It feels like so many folks jump to conclusions and dig their heels in before they've even taken a second to look at the "why" behind certain reactions. Why bother digging into the background when you can just say "no" right off the bat, right?

That’s exactly it! Once you finally realize that it's all just a massive fascination—and honestly, a bit exhausting—those little mysteries won't seem nearly as important anymore. Don't they?

But here’s where we run into a "new" kind of trouble—it happens the moment you cut off that constant stream of mental fuel used to feed that sense of being special or important. Let's be real: the whole process of sobering up isn't easy, and it definitely isn't painless! Why? Because that impulsive, hungry ego is no longer sitting right there at the center of your attention. Once that fog finally lifts—if it lifts at all—and your mind clears up even just a little bit, you start to see the truth. It turns out it was nothing more than a cheap shot from an endless arsenal of illusions. I'm talking about how incredibly easy it is to trick ourselves, aren't we?

nimblewolf11 said:Exactly. Once you realize how much of a fascination—and frankly, how exhausting—these little mysteries actually are, they just lose their grip on you.

But here’s the kicker: a whole new set of problems crops up when you cut off that mental supply line that feeds your ego's need to feel special or important. This whole "sobering up" process isn't exactly a walk in the park, is it? It hurts. Why? Because that impulsive, starving ego isn't sitting front and center anymore. When the fog finally lifts, and if you're lucky enough to get even a shred of clarity, you realize the whole thing was nothing more than a cheap shot from an endless arsenal of illusions. I'm talking about that constant, nagging possibility of being deluded.

At the end of the day, every single one of us is an entire universe unto ourselves. It doesn't matter how small we think we are. Whoever you are, wherever you go, you're carrying that whole damn cosmos with you.

Think about it: thoughts, experiences, emotions, even our entire memory—none of that actually matters when you're talking about true self-discovery. Up until that point, all of it feels vital. But anyone who truly "moves on" isn't carrying anything except that same identification with what they perceive as life. In reality, they're just carrying those same ties to emptiness. Unless you can shed that weight—which is that rare thing we’re all chasing, whether we realize it or not—you haven't reached anything. You become more than a universe, because a universe is really only halfway to finding who you actually are. Everything we deem important in life is essentially meaningless, aside from being temporarily, contextually, and conditionally important. Life is conditionally "important," but fundamentally? It's not.

Spiritual gurus always claim we’re just tiny fragments of a much larger Whole—we just haven't had the epiphany to realize it yet.
And there I was, reading this book that the author actually signed for me: http://www.daniellakordic.com/index....udenje-cjeline
The book synchronicity—the way it landed in my hands—wasn't some random fluke. In fact, I actually met the author a few months before I even picked up the book.

Adrian Kezele entered my life through what I consider a significant, somewhat mysterious instance of synchronicity. But once I finished the book, that connection didn't feel mysterious at all anymore. It was, quite frankly, as clear as day.

It's beautifully written, I'll give it that.

But honestly? That book leaves me feeling pretty depressed because every time I look at it, it brings back memories of my late friend and his wife.

Kezele argues that the Whole communicates with us through synchronicity—using these little cosmic nudges to steer us toward spiritual growth.
But, you know, if we're being practical, I suppose the first prerequisite for "spiritual growth" is actually being alive!
My friend was at that lecture—it was November 16, 2016.
Toward the end, Kezele told everyone there were numbers taped under our chairs.
And sure enough, it was true. Everyone pulled a number. We were supposed to find our "match"—someone with the same number, since they were all in pairs. Kezele believed that meeting a total stranger through this kind of coincidence would spark some sort of profound communicative wisdom. Personally, I didn't walk away with any life-altering wisdom, but I did get one small win: my mother finally got her reading glasses (she’s 77). It was driving me crazy seeing her struggle to read, especially since she was too stubborn to go pick up those cheap ones from the local clinic.
But my friend? He never found his match. Maybe he slipped out early, or maybe the seat next to him was empty.
Poor guy was searching everywhere like a madman for his partner, thinking he was going to hear something deeply profound.
He was dead serious about it!
See, my friend was battling colon cancer and had to carry an ostomy bag. His prognosis was incredibly uncertain.
And back home, his wife was fighting pancreatic cancer—the prognosis there was grim.
He was desperately looking for salvation through synchronicity, but he never found his counterpart.
Maybe that was the Whole sending a tragic message.
His wife passed away at 60 this spring, and he followed her at 66 this summer. 😲🙂😲

Everyone in the neighborhood knew him as that eccentric guy who spent his time staring directly into the sun—you know, the sungazing type.

Honestly, it might be better if it didn't remind you of anything at all. No comparison can ever truly capture something that is fundamentally unimaginable. You can't wrap your head around the "unimaginable" by using labels, even if those labels feel paradoxical.

For some people, that sensation might feel just like the buzz after their first craft beer, except they blame the drink while you're limiting the beauty of the moment by trying to categorize it.

Elizabeth Castillo87 said:I have to admit, I struggle to follow your point sometimes...

Let me try again. If life is just the sum of everything we experience through our senses, then what actually remains once it's over? What we’re truly searching for deep down isn't just "living" in the biological sense. Life is merely the backdrop—the setting. People tend to take this whole existence way too seriously, acting like the credits are never going to roll. Then, suddenly, the movie ends, and they're left sitting there wondering, "Wait, now what?"
