I’ve been thinking a lot lately about the idea of "compartmentalization." We all talk about it like it’s this superpower, especially in high-stakes careers where you’re expected to perform at 100% regardless of what's happening in your living room. But honestly, I think it’s a bit of a myth.

I remember a few years back when I was trying to grind through a certification exam while my personal life was basically a dumpster fire. I thought I could just lock those feelings in a box, shut the lid, and focus. It didn't work. I was distracted, my sleep was shot, and my performance was mediocre at best. It felt like I was trying to run a marathon with a weighted vest on, even though nobody could see the extra weight.

It makes me wonder if we put too much pressure on people to be "on" all the time. We demand total mental presence, but humans aren't built like machines. You can't just flip a switch and turn off heartbreak or life-altering changes just because you have a deadline or a big moment coming up.

Do you think it's actually possible to perform at an elite level when your personal life is falling apart, or is that just an impossible standard we set for ourselves?

Does anyone know of any solid alternatives to TWA? I've been looking into Bunq and Revolut lately, but what’s the actual consensus on them?

It honestly feels like TWA’s service fees and those Western Union exchange rates have taken a real dive compared to where they were just a year ago.

So now I'm working on myself every single day, but where does it actually lead? The more I learn, the more I realize how clueless and much of a total failure I really am.

I deal with plenty of negative thoughts, but I keep pushing forward regardless, mostly because I don't have any other choice.

I look around at everyone else and see how fast they're moving up, becoming successful, while I'm just stuck going at my own pace. It makes me wonder if I'm just that incompetent.

tl;dr - gotta work on yourself.

It sounds to me like you're spending way too much energy obsessing over your own psyche, whereas those "successful" people you're watching aren't wasting time spiraling about their self-worth—they're just pouring all that focus into specific skill sets or business ventures.
Truthfully, it might just be a matter of procrastination or lacking the guts to actually pull the trigger on a big decision... NHF 🙂
Does anyone happen to know which local clinics or medical centers offer DHT testosterone testing?
I’ve been noticing a pretty similar pattern over the last few years, ever since I transitioned into a field where my brain is basically running at redline for several hours every single day—think heavy-duty mathematics, probability theory, statistics, and that constant high-stakes decision-making that comes with all that pressure.
I’ve also started to feel like my memory isn't quite what it used to be, though I can't help but wonder if that might be tied to the depression I've been dealing with, since I've heard how much that can mess with your cognitive retention.
