Go ahead and take this, northernmaker7’s mother—maybe one day it'll actually sink in.

Feel free to lock this thread as far as I'm concerned.

I have absolutely nothing left to say.
The brilliance of moderation on Dick in Feedback & Suggestions ·
Honestly, I’ve run out of things to say to you all.

My common sense tells me that this debate—just like almost any other—is completely pointless. It’s perfectly clear to me why most rational, articulate people refuse to even start these conversations or speak out publicly on topics regarding where the line between normal and abnormal should be drawn. Why would they bother engaging with people who simply have no desire to think or reflect?

At any rate, I’ll leave you to your convictions. You’ve certainly proven that, in your eyes, it is "normal" to glorify crimes or violence of any kind, while standing up against them is considered "abnormal."

And hey, that is your right. I truly wish you nothing but the best in a world like that.
The brilliance of moderation on Dick in Feedback & Suggestions ·
Oh, come on, everyone knows I post under both handles. Even the moderators are in on it.

Besides, it would have been pretty hard to figure that out given my accent anyway.
The brilliance of moderation on Dick in Feedback & Suggestions ·
Unfortunately, slypuma12, you’re just proving my point about how superficial your approach to moderation really is. It seems you're far more concerned with protecting your own ego than anything else.

You haven't done a single thing for me personally. Your job is to serve this community, the users, and common sense.

But clearly, that's a concept you just don't grasp.

Which is exactly what this notice demonstrates:

Dear SarahJo,

As a layman, though, I’d say this person needs some serious, old-school, masculine discipline.
It’s such a shame there isn't enough common sense on this site to issue a lifetime ban for comments like these. We are talking about statements that glorify the greatest crimes ever committed against humanity, yet here we are, where the only consequence is getting mocked by a moderator for being "hysterical" because they allowed such filth to stay up.

Bravo, moderators! You’ve truly outdone yourselves once again!
Just to clear things up for those worrying more about my status than the actual topic: I wasn't banned when I originally started this thread.

But as it stands now, I am.

If reading isn't really your thing, feel free to just look at the images instead.
And like I said before, this isn't about me personally or my own motives. This is about common sense on Reddit and asking one simple question: where do we draw the line?

Maybe you'll manage to find some coherent argument buried somewhere in their posts.

If you still think I'm in the wrong after all this, then honestly, I don't think we can have a productive conversation.

I always put my energy into what’s right, even if I end up standing entirely alone on that side of the line.

Common sense is there to reassure me that I'm not the one losing my way.

The moment someone tries to argue that it's "normal" to advocate for hitting women, raping children, or wiping out half of humanity just to glorify a single nation or race, I’ll be catapulting myself straight to Mars. Clearly, I wasn't built for life on Earth.
The brilliance of moderation on Dick in Feedback & Suggestions ·
Sure, maybe it’s more "normal" to just bounce from one thread to another, venting about a potential divorce, because that’s clearly the rational, mature way to handle things—rather than tackling deep issues that actually affect humanity and the society we live in. I suppose people who find this bothersome simply don't have anything better to do with their time...

I’m posting this because I am genuinely shocked by how much common sense and rational reasoning is lacking in adults these days.

northernmaker7, would you be okay with some guy coming in here and bragging about how much he admires men who slap their wives across the face, claiming women don't deserve any better?

Do you even grasp the underlying subtext of these posts and what they're really hiding?

I’m asking you: do you think these kinds of comments should be supported, brushed off, or dismissed as mere "humor" and jokes? Or should there be a line drawn in the sand that says enough is enough? Where do we draw that line?
The brilliance of moderation on Dick in Feedback & Suggestions ·
northernmaker7 said:I honestly don't get why you're so obsessed with foreign wars and other people's business.🤔 You were just jumping all over the American Civil War, and now you're attacking Hitler like it happened yesterday. It feels like we're walking on eggshells trying to show special sympathy for victims.

Seriously, what is your problem?

Is it really that hard to understand?

I wasn't picking on the American Civil War; I was reacting to Nazism, fascism, and extremist ideologies—just as much as I would react to any other radical group.

Is it truly such an unusual thing for someone to react to posts like these today? Is it so strange to insist that freedom of speech doesn't mean you have a free pass to discriminate, spread hate, or glorify crimes?

Would it be easier to grasp if I used the example of pedophilia?

Do you really think people should be allowed to write whatever they want about pedophiles and pretend it's perfectly normal?

I haven't seen posts like these anywhere else except on Dick.

Discrimination is banned everywhere—on Hazel, History, Politics, Zud, Music... it's banned everywhere except on Dick.

It’s honestly quite disheartening that this isn't clear to you at your age.

That's enough.

Now, just imagine if this post had been reported by someone else—someone whose motives you weren't already questioning—instead of Jamie Bishop29.
The brilliance of moderation on Dick in Feedback & Suggestions ·
Tabasco, do you actually stand behind this statement?

Is it a yes or a no?

Let’s leave me out of this entirely. I don't want a deep dive into my psyche or some free analysis of my personality—my motives are completely irrelevant here. We are strictly discussing this specific claim. So, let me ask: Is this really the kind of content you want seeing on this forum?

That is the heart of the issue. As a human being, seeing statements like this—and watching people turn a blind eye to them—is deeply offensive. And I say that with good reason.

I would be just as livid if someone walked in here and declared their admiration for pedophiles, rapists, or mass murderers. How much worse is it when someone writes that they "love Nazis and Hitler"? To me, these kinds of comments are an insult to the intellect, to the spirit, and to our basic humanity. If I am angry, it is because these views are tolerated. They are swept under the rug, minimized, or treated like some sick joke. When we allow this, we essentially give wings to people like that. We send an indirect message that it's all fine, that it's just "part of the conversation." Then, you get certain smart alecks—people like you—who can't wrap their heads around it. You try to dismiss all this valid frustration as mere personal bias or boredom, simply because you fail to realize that some people look at the world with much more gravity and depth.

Yes, my "personal motives" exist precisely because these types of statements and characters are allowed to persist. They offend my humanity, and the humanity of every single person who ended up under a blade in that damn war. If you can't grasp that, then there is no other way I can explain it to you. I truly cannot.

Keep hitting him on the shoulder, you're doing a great job. 👍

Richard Sanders7 said:The guy isn't glorifying Hitler; he just loves him. Loving someone and glorifying them are two completely different things. Shouldn't a person have the right to love whoever they choose?

E: But this is definitely grounds for a permanent ban. 🙂

Look, some things just aren't funny.
Given your age, shouldn't you know better than to try and trivialize or water down every attempt to set boundaries on what simply isn't considered acceptable behavior?
It's the same way we react to misogyny or pedophilia. There are certain statements that simply cannot be tolerated in a civilized, normal society.
The brilliance of moderation on Dick in Feedback & Suggestions ·
Please forgive me for being so shaken by this statement that I rushed to report the post and open this appeal. As a human being, I was deeply unsettled by the freedom allowed to write things that essentially glorify Hitler, the Nazis, and the murder of millions of people across the country. I know I didn't strictly follow the standard reporting procedure, and for that, I apologize.

At the same time, I want to apologize on behalf of my fellow humans for hitting that report button even though the post wasn't directed at me personally. But perhaps I’m still sane enough to believe in standing up against such rhetoric and fighting for humanity?

What else can I say? Just remember that Hitler didn't pick and choose which nations to suffer in those gas chambers. If that isn't a sufficient criterion for you to judge the gravity of such a statement, then what is? 👍
The brilliance of moderation on Dick in Feedback & Suggestions ·
Glorifying Nazism, Hitler, or any form of sexual, nationalistic, or religious hatred is an incredibly serious matter. It’s dangerous, plain and simple—whether we're talking about discussions on Dike, political discourse, philosophical debates, or even over at Lees.

In the United States, this kind of rhetoric wouldn't be tolerated anywhere. So, why should any subreddit be an exception when it comes to statements that aim to celebrate hate, murder, torture, harassment, concentration camps, or mass killings? Do I really need to provide an illustration for how vile that is?

Or do you honestly believe I'm wrong? Do you think there should be "gray areas" where civilizational norms and rules just don't apply because the topics being discussed aren't considered "serious"?

To be perfectly honest, I can't imagine a single subreddit where this is permitted, nor can I picture a moderator who would tolerate it. I spend a lot of time on various subreddits, and as a person, I find these primitive, uncivilized statements deeply offensive. This isn't about having a "difference of opinion," which everyone is entitled to; this is about the most fundamental evil known to humanity. It is truly tragic that people fail to see that, and it's even more disheartening that I have to explain it to you.
The brilliance of moderation on Dick in Feedback & Suggestions ·
Shame on you, moderators over at Dick.

Honestly, shame on all the moderators across this entire forum.

Let’s be real here: nobody actually cares whether you were present or not. These are people you allow to post freely on both this forum and Dick, which means they fall under your responsibility.👍
Can money actually buy happiness? in Psychology ·
Thomas Hernandez10 said:People always love to say that money can't buy happiness, but honestly, I’ve never felt luckier than when I have the freedom to do whatever I want, buy whatever I feel like, and travel wherever and whenever the mood strikes me.

To me, money is basically synonymous with happiness. I feel like all those arguments against it are just stuff people have been conditioned to believe since they were kids—mostly pushed by religious institutions like the Catholic Church—just to keep everyone quiet and feeling grateful for the crumbs they're stuck with...

Are you absolutely certain about that?
Is it really true that you can buy anything you desire, or are you just choosing from what you can actually afford, even if you don't realize it deep down?
Can money actually buy happiness? in Psychology ·
True happiness is likely found within the struggle itself—in the pursuit, the growth, and the eventual triumph of reaching a goal.

Once a reward hits a certain threshold where it becomes impossible to measure—say, when having five houses feels no different than having ten—that sense of value simply evaporates.

It’s why so many of the ultra-wealthy struggle with deep depression or anxiety; they lose their driving force. When there isn't a bigger prize waiting at the finish line, what's left to trigger that adrenaline rush or push them forward?

That’s precisely why I agree with what Anderson is saying. For these individuals, philanthropy becomes a new reason to get out of bed. Finding joy in helping others provides that renewed sense of purpose and reward that they thought they had lost forever.
Can money actually buy happiness? in Psychology ·
I’m not entirely certain, though I tend to lean toward the idea that money can certainly buy a better quality of life. That said, isn't happiness more of an internal state? It doesn't seem directly tied to your bank account.

We see plenty of examples of people who are incredibly wealthy and successful by any standard, yet they are just miserable. They’re consumed by bitterness and negativity, perpetually dissatisfied in a way that defies all logic.

A cynic or a grouch can't be cheered up by material wealth because the issue isn't their lifestyle—it's that constant, nagging discontentment within them. No matter what they possess or how much is provided to them, it’s never enough. There’s an old saying that you "can't help a man who won't help himself," and that applies here too. These are individuals who simply lack the capacity to appreciate anything, even the fact that they live in absolute abundance.

On the other hand, for those who actually know how to enjoy life, money can certainly make a difference.
Money buys comfort and opportunity, but does it buy joy? I think it’s a much harder sell. Perhaps I'm wrong, and I truly hope that I am.

By the way, I was scrolling through LinkedIn earlier and this one thought really caught my eye:

The people in suits are actually working for the people in pajamas. 😁
Fish and her ego in Feedback & Suggestions ·
To whom it may concern,

First and foremost, I am expecting an apology from the moderator. Furthermore, I expect these points to be removed from my account. There isn't a single logical argument to justify this style of communication toward people contributing to the astrology section—people who unselfishly share their knowledge to improve the quality of this subreddit. This isn't the first time a moderator has attempted to degrade a conversation partner by deleting my posts or moving them between threads, which effectively strips them of all meaning and context.
It seems clear to me that most of you don't truly grasp what is happening here. However, those who actually follow astrology know just how much time and effort goes into posts like these. It makes me wonder: what kind of ego must one possess to feel so threatened that they resort to deleting content and issuing infractions against those simply sharing their expertise?

I expect an apology, the restoration of my post, and the removal of that insulting moderator comment.

You already copied it on the previous page, so combined with the one in the main topic, we have it three times now. Please, let's try to keep things concise.

Is that even possible? Forgive me, but I have no idea where my contributions to this subreddit actually end up once you start shuffling posts between different topics.
You should be grateful for my time and effort, Fish; you don't read posts like these every day.

You've twisted that quite beautifully and made it confusing.

I was merely noting that Mars, as the ruler of Scorpio, can be considered wet, unlike Venus, which doesn't hold rulership over water signs.
I thought you were writing about retrograde phases. Clearly, we aren't communicating very well; you sort of tangled the planetary rulerships into the discussion about planetary motion, then added distance into the mix, and so on... And you haven't answered a single one of my questions, interesting...

But to make our communication easier, here is Lilijev's table, from which both the characteristics and temperaments of the planets are derived based on whether their movement is retrograde or direct. One just needs to remember that Saturn, Jupiter, and Mars show a better nature when they are oriental, while the other planets show it when they are occidental.

All the best,

Here is another one, this time involving outright ethnic slurs.
I truly hope the administration takes action against these posts to prevent this individual from continuing their unchecked rampage across the forum.

I have a lot of faith in common sense, and I expect the moderators to step up and stop this kind of toxic communication on a platform used by thousands of people. Honestly, if you aren't embarrassed by this, I certainly am. It’s embarrassing for all of us because, despite the chaos, I still consider most of the community to be decent, normal people.

Quote: Miss Congeniality said:You really described yourself perfectly, you washed-up old hag. Did you settle this insecurity by hooking up with guys at work, or what? 🙂 A lady like that. She just wears skirts and gives herself to anyone.

Jealousy is oozing out of your every pore, but why should I care when you're just an old, worn-out mess? Youth is something you'll never have again, no matter how much you crave it. You poor thing. Just accept your age and keep flaunting those cellulite-ridden legs. ☕

At the end of the day, you're just a Mexican woman. That says everything about your low-class behavior. Disgusting. ☕

Nobody can match your level of nonsense or sheer stupidity. You don't act classy—we all know you aren't. But I’m actually glad to see you feel personally attacked by my every single post; it just goes to show how much truth there really is in them.
What a true lady you are. Sensual, feminine, elderly, with fake breasts, no butt at all, and plenty of cellulite. A real class act.

You are so incredibly gross and transparent that I haven't seen anything like it. It is unbelievable how deeply you suck up to people, though I have a feeling that's the only thing you know how to do in life. Pathetic and revolting. Truly disgusting.

I’m not going anywhere, but you certainly should leave, old lady.

Is anyone going to say something here, or am I expected to handle this myself? I’ve already reached out to the moderators to report these idiots, yet I see absolutely no response to their behavior.

Does anyone else feel that these frustrated, insecure, and hysterical insults scattered throughout this thread are becoming a daily occurrence?

Should I simply fight fire with fire and turn this entire discussion into a total cage match where we’re all just clawing at each other? Is that what the moderators want by staying silent during these insults—which, by the way, aren't even the first time we've dealt with this?

Since this particular individual has targeted me countless times with these kinds of insults, and since I am more than capable of responding in kind if I chose to, I am asking the respected moderators and administration to please step in. Please put an end to this style of communication and demonstrate that you possess the maturity that this community and its decent, sane members deserve.

Furthermore, I am requesting that my penalty points be removed—specifically the 200 points I received for using an image in a smiley and being removed from the thread, as well as the reasons behind my four previous bans. Let those points serve as a lesson to someone else instead...

Thank you.
